Tetrode service. You'd expect a small credit union to at least do well with customer service, but they don't. You can't reach anybody by phone. Nobody calls you back. Their telephone tree will have you punching buttons for a long time only to be thrown into death hold. Customer service with our other bank, which is national wide, is much better. We'll be terminating our LFCU account.

LFCU if I could give negative stars I would! usaa has sent emails!!! I'm a veteran, I have sent emails...mr. farmakides, ceo; s. harrell, cfo; j. ference, sr v operations; t. werking, sr vp, lending? what is wrong with your customer care service? are you not listening to customer feedback? i secured a $150,000 pool loan w you. your customer service is doo-doo!! usaa financial service rep and i have been trying to conference call you for assistance to fix these problems!! you have a horrible customer care calling center! no one answers! if you do get an automated voice, the ai runs us in circles, disconnects us, sends us to reps who clearly do not know how to solve the problems, read scripted narratives and fail to direct us to some one who can help; we have been routed to, clearly a non-american call center because the command of english is lacking context, therefore they, too, are clueless!! we are trying to talk to a human being within lfcu who can appropriately assist us without excuse after excuse!! bottom line every month my payment leaves usaa online bill pay and 1) it never posts on time, though i have sent it 2 weeks early; 2) i make extra payments to pay down the loan, you all appear to double paying interest and not applying towards principal!! people! do not let this credit union service your high end home improvement loans! they have horrible, unprofessional rapport and lousy customer care. if one reads the BBB ratings of 1 star, it's never their fault, LFCU always claims it's the customer's fault! I don't reside in MD or I would be in their office immediately to solve their problems created by their loan tactics. LFCU, you agreed to service this pool loan...so service it!

For more than a decade, Lafayette Federal Credit Union has been a great partner to work with. Every single staff member has been very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I love the app and the website because they are very easy to use. I have multiple accounts to help me achieve my goals. I highly recommend them for all your financial needs. Great rates, products, and, excellent service.

I've been a member for more than 40 years. In the last year service has declined severely. The LFCU call center consistently experiences "higher call volume than normal" which means the call volume is normal and it is not properly staffed. When you finally get through or a call back hours later, they cannot provide any support. If you send an email, you get an automated response saying they will get back to you in 24 - 48 hrs but after a week, I have gotten no response. What good are financial services that don't provide service or support? While it breaks my heart and is a pain, I am changing financial institutions.

Absolutely the worst financial institution ever. I've been a customer for over 45 years. Dysfunctional, disorganized, lacks transparency. Currently their credit card phone number does not connect, no message, just rings once and clicks off. This is just today's example. Always a time sucker, LFCU Gives non-profits a bad rep. Take my word for it-- look elsewhere.

i needed to take out a loan the personnel at LFCU were extremely helpful to me in particular mr willetts at this brach and the underwriter lady Frances Tievy was also extremely helpful and procative in facilitating my application process kudos to all members of the staff there. Brian Lordan

I would give negative stars if I could. Beware of off the chart penalties for early withdrawal on Lafayette Federal Credit Union CDs which are hidden when the CD accounts are open. They can be up to almost a 2 year penalty for a 5 year CD. I looked up the available balance on my 5 year CD I opened last year and it was the full balance yet Lafayette Federal Credit Union has given no indication it will honor it. They also had the option to waive the early withdrawal penalty for emergencies which they do not do. The NCUA and other regulators are investigating my complaint. I had all kinds of issues opening the account and never got it resolved when I emailed LFCU leadership. I had a family emergency which meant I needed to cash in the CD early. Top my surprise, they had a 600-day penalty for early withdrawal on my CD. I don't recall seeing this when I opened the CD. You will not see this in the certificates section of the LFCU website lfcu.org/personal/certif.... Hidden on the LFCU website is all the penalties for early withdrawal. lfcu.org/files/Fixed-Rat... There are plenty of banks out there with similar or higher rates with far lower penalties for early withdrawal. You can even get similar rates on US Treasury Notes with no state tax and no penalty for early withdrawal. LFCU says it is Member-Owned, Not-for-Profit -You're a member AND an owner at Lafayette Federal. We treat our members as unique individuals with specific needs and financial goals. We are member-owned, not-for-profit, and community-minded. This couldn't be further from the truth based on my experience. The penalty for early withdrawal section shown above which I don't recall seeing when I opened the CD says LFCU MAY impose a penalty for early withdrawal. They want to impose a huge penalty and this is after escalating to LFCU leadership.

After several misses with this CU to make a first time payment, NaTasha came through where everyone else failed! Clear instructions were not given to follow up on connecting an external account for payment purposes. Then, I called customer care and they were not able to give clear, alternative solutions to make a payment. Emailed customer care and got zilch. Finally today, when payment is due, I got NaTasha and not only did she direct me to an alternate payment method, she stayed on the line until it was processed and confirmed that I could use this method moving forward! Comprehensive and customer service oriented!!! NaTasha for the win!!

Visited this branch for a service, the officer there by names sierra strammell, was very unprofessional,she didn't seem to know what she had to do, kept asking similar questions over and over, and kept sending me to go to other banks, very unprofessional and rude, never had a bad experience at this branch in 5years of my membership,and eventually I didn't even get the service I needed.

I have been a LFCU Member for many, many years, but had not been to the Kensington Branch for several years. As always, when I entered, there was a very friendly greeting!I finished the routine transaction easily and asked Andrew Weigly for a little more help. He was eager to help, not even knowing what I needed. He proceeded to walk me through the steps to update my Account information and move funds to a more desirable account, Preferred Savings.Also, he assisted me change my user name and enabled me to Log In. The following day, I was not able to log in again, my mistake and he called and assisted me to Log In.THANKS to Andrew, I am back on line and grateful to LFCU for having such a competent and helpful staff member!Oliver Davidson

There is a disconnect between their Member Services and Card Services departments. Their process and systems are out of date. Definitely would not recommend putting your money here.

Amazing Service! I’ve been a member for quite some time and I’ve gone to other branches but this one is by far my favorite one. The manager, Luis, is so kind and helpful. And the rest of the staff is always so willing to help.
