Nice thrift but didn't have many plus size women's pants on 28jan24. But that just depends on the donations. Very clean and organized.

Love that this place is volunteer run, and all proceeds go to ARC Montgomery (which serves individuals with disabilities and their families). I prefer to donate all my gently-used, no-longer-needed clothing here instead of to some of the big-name donations centers which are either run by religious organizations or are actually for-profit. This is a neighborhood thrift store, where you can know that your items/money are going to a local cause! I always take a half hour to browse when I come in to drop a donation off -- since the store isn't super big, it's hit or miss depending on your luck that day. I've gotten great workwear staples here (J.Crew pants for $8 anyone?!), and I've also walked away without finding anything. The items are mostly clothes (and are well organized by type, size, etc.), but there are some household items and knick-knacks at the front. Overall, Urban Thrift has become my go-to donation spot, and a good, curated spot to thrift.

I visited for the first time on a 60% off all shoes and clothes weekend and had a great experience. Clothing all in great shape, and prices varied a bit--great deals with the discount and reasonable to a little pricey without. To give an idea, bottoms seemed to be priced really well (mostly from 6.99 to 8.99) while I saw tops ranging from 6.99 to 10.99+. Great brands as well, I saw a lot of brands like Zara/Madewell/Ralph Lauren/Express etc. Even a few racks dedicated to new with tags clothing. There are two fitting rooms in the back, and the store felt well-organized. Only knocking off a star because the non-clothing selection was super sparse. Not sure if this is the usual case or just the day I went though.

I am no thrifting expert, but my 19 year old son apparently is. While traveling back in Maryland for the Christmas holidays 2023, we had the opportunity to visit the Urban Thrift and I was his "Uber". My Mom will be 93 year old and oldest sister accompanied us on this adventure to at least 9 different thrift stores in the Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring, Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC. The reason for the "two stars" is the location and store front parking! It was great given the holidays rush when we visited. Overall the Urban Thrift store is very small compared to the larger and even warehouse thrift store we visited and had a huge variety of merchandise. I did pursue the shelves for "Knick knacks" and found a few items that were novel and interesting while my son quickly checked out the clothing along with my sister and Mom. I must admit he has been thrifting for 6+ years and living in San Francisco he has very define taste in what he searching. Before he moved to Honolulu he was spend weekends in The Haight, The Mission, The Castro and Noe Valley neighbors seeking those "Eureka!" clothing items. Urban Thrift a small nice neighborhood thrift shop, but if you are a "power thrift" person you will be disappointment. However, if you are someone who might find a local treasure then I would give it a try. Unfortunately, of all those thrift stores Urban Thrift was the least impressive. If you were to gage success by the number of "cool finds" and actual cash spent this store was last in our adventure. Being a few days before Christmas my son, Mom, sister and myself were able to discover many "treasures" for our nieces, nephews and siblings. Good thrifting! PS - Maryland thrifting gets very good score from my son who purchased at least 25+ items and we had to purchase a suitcase to get them home.

Great mission and easy to donate. This place really helped me find a home for items I had inherited but couldn’t use.

On Monday I entered the store they had a T-shirt on display that I wanted the lady told me the insurance company would not allow them to climb up and remove the T-shirt she would call me as soon as they brought it down a day and a half later they sold it and did not call me I went in the same day and they were very rude they lied to meAnd I certainly would not recommend a place they’re very grumpy old ladies

This is very pleasant and well organized shop with an emphasis on clothing and shoes. However they have a lot of different categories of items for sale. Very nice staff.

I just moved to the area, looking for housing and on a budget. Found a few great pieces of clothing and the customer service was good.

Interesting variety of items, paid and volunteer staff are vigilant about keeping shelves and racks tidy. Each day features a special discount. The only down side is that if you browse long enough and you want to use the restroom, you're out of luck. But knowing that and planning ahead, I really like the place
