If I could give more stars, I would! I have been to many Aldi’s and by far, this is the best one ever! It is always clean, the shelves are always stocked and neatly arranged. I am always greeted by the staff and I always enjoy talking to Joel and Lindsey. Everyone at that store has always gone out of their way to meet my needs.I often talk with Lindsey or Joel, who stop whatever they are doing to chat with me. The family feel permeates the entire store and spreads to the customers.Aldi’s is budget friendly for me…….outside of a few specific things, I can do my shopping here at a very nice savings for me. Like everyone else my budget has taken a hit, so I truly appreciate what Aldi’s is doing for me and La Plata. I love how welcome the store is.I read some earlier reviews and I am sad that some people found something to get angry about. It is regrettable that some people have to make themselves feel better at other’s expense. Please don’t let that stop you all from doing the wonderful job you do.Joe

This place is clean and organized. The staff there is very friendly and helpful! Especially Lindsay and Sheena! Every time I see them, they're always smiling ?. It's nice to have a grocery store with a small town feel

Used to shop at waldorf and store was great, efficient cashiers, looked happy which is u usual for alot of grocery store employees. To my surprise I like laplata even better. The employees are friendly and everybody works and works together. I've seen managers relieve employees and the managers are always working. I see so few employees I actually inquired how many employees work there bc they are efficient and it impressed me. Lindsey has greeted me and my children each time I see her and actually remembers our names. She is always busy and seems to enjoy her job. She has went out of her way for us enough that my kids even joke with me about going to aldi instead of Walmart so we see her. You have a valuable employee with her. I've even overhead other employees speaking nicely of her when she isn't there although they didn't know I overheard

We did extensive grocery shopping last night, at the La Plata, MD location. I, my husband, and our 4yr old son arrived just a little over an hour before the store was scheduled to close, allowing us what we believed would be plenty of time to shop. And we accomplished our goal to be finished shopping before 8pm. However, we were checking out at 7:59. This, of course, meant that we were going to need to be bagging our groceries after 8 p.m.Being very conscientious of the time, we were bagging up our groceries as quickly as we could, even employing our 4yr old’s assistance. But, since we don’t bag groceries for a living, we are probably a little slow, even when it feels like we’re hustling. So, there we are- our whole family- trying to get our nearly $400 worth of groceries bagged and get ourselves out the door as fast as possible. Then, from behind us, we hear a female worker announce to us, and a couple next to us, that the doors will be locking at 8:15 and that we have THREE MINUTES to finish and get out the door.At this point, in my already flustered condition, my initial thought to her unexpected announcement was, “Wait…what?!?! The doors are going to lock in 3mins?! Are they locking on their own?! THREE minutes?!?!!! Are you kidding me?! There’s no way we’re going to be finished in three minutes?!!?!!” To be clear, I didn’t verbalize any of this, but my stress level shot up and I didn’t know HOW to respond. As I stayed focused on the task at hand, and got out the door a little after 8:15, my heartrate began to settle down and my thoughts were more clear. And that’s when I got genuinely angry at what had just happened. This woman (if you’re the store manager and reading this, I’ll happily provide you with my phone number and the name of this employee) was completely out of line in what she did. It would have been obvious to any observer that we weren’t sitting around twiddling our thumbs. It was obvious that we were going as quickly as we could, trying to get out the door. For her to come and threaten us with locking the doors in three minutes was mean, discourteous, and the absolute antithesis of customer service. If my little boy had not been with us, I would have been inclined to walk back into the STILL unlocked doors- after 8:15- and explain to her just how rude and out of order she was. Working in retail means that you are almost assuredly going to have times when customers are finishing up after closing time. It should be understood that Customer Service 101 dictates that you DO NOT verbally threaten customers who are aggressively working to get out the door! Here's a novel idea, Ms. Discourteous Employee…Next time you see a family trying their level best to get their groceries bagged in a timely fashion, and it’s after closing time, kindly OFFER TO HELP THEM BAG THEIR GROCERIES. In this way, you accomplish two things - you gently draw their attention to the time AND you offer a helpful service. What you did, instead, added to our burden and made us never want to shop at your store again.

Accosted and Threatened by Employee LindseyOur family (me, my wife and our 4 year old son) arrived at La Plata Aldi just prior to 7 p.m. tonight. We FILLED UP our cart with everything needed for Thanksgiving and beyond, to the tune of $379.24. Our cashier was Nathaniel, who checked us out at exactly 7:59 p.m. (store closes at 8). Immediately following, my wife and I, along with our little boy, went over to the bagging shelf and began rockin’ and rollin’, moving as fast as possible to bag everything smartly and get out the door. In this case everything was quite a lot, including many cold/ frozen items needing cold bags.At 8:12 p.m., as we were almost done, an Aldi employee named Lindsey (spelling?) approached us FROM BEHIND and announced [exact quote], “Just a friendly reminder that the doors will lock at 8:15.” Shocked by her untimely and unfriendly “friendly reminder”, I turned and asked for clarification. To me it was a threat to lock us in or something, but whatever it was (lock in or lock out), it was definitely and very clearly a very passive aggressive threat. (NOTE: SHE COULD PLAINLY SEE THAT WE WERE ALREADLY HUSTLING TO GET OUR STUFF PACKED UP AND GET OUT.) So, looking at her directly, I asked incredulously, “So what are you saying?” She stated, with a contempt so shocking I could hardly believe it, “Oh, I think you know EXACTLY what I’m saying (gesturing at the door).” I asked her for her same. Snippy again, “My name is Lindsey.” (LIKE SHE WAS ALL KIND OF PROUD OF HER “HIGH AND MIGHTY” POWER, IT WAS ABSOLUTELY SICKENING.) I stated, “I need to use the restroom,” because I did.Going to the restroom, I was so flustered it actually took me longer than usual. I walked out of the restroom, at roughly 8:17 p.m. somewhat expecting to be accosted AGAIN, possibly even physically, by Lindsey. Yes, she was that ugly, thus my guarded expectation. Leaving the restroom and proceeding to the main area of the store, there was no one in sight and the doors were open. I walked out. My wife and son had finished packing and they had already departed. In 58 years of life including 33 years of military service and 4 wars, this is THE WORST I have ever been treated by a grocery store worker who is ostensibly IN MY EMPLOY! There were NO SIGNS or SIRENS announcing LOCK DOWN for those who failed to carry their carcasses, along with wives and small children, out of the Aldi, by 8:15 sharp, after spending large sums of money. I want my money back. I want Lindsey fired, and I want the store manager fired. What she did is highly hostile and beyond unethical.READING GOOGLE REVIEWS TODAY, I have learned that AT LEAST TWO other people had very similar “experiences” with Lindsey! AND APPARENTLY THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME. What is Aldi going to do in response to this? Sincerely.

Zero to limited vegan options. I was highly disappointed in selections of anything. I am sure this store won't be around long. It was very clean, which I can really appreciate. You must be a highly skilled driver to maneuver the entrance to the parking lot and you will need google maps to find the exit. This was my first and last visit, as I was expecting the same shopping experience as I did in Virginia Beach.

Parker, needs to work on his customer service skills. He was requested to push a grocery cart out to my vehicle, because I had another shopping cart to push. One more thing he heard me quite clearly and quickly walked through the double doors and out of sight. Professional he is Not!!From this moment forward I will only shop at the Waldorf store.

Reasonable price . Watch the produce though . Around 40-70 percent was going bad last time I was in there and the lady just kept stocking over it . But I love the selection of cheese and meat. Prices are really good. Feels like I’m shopping back in 2019 again lol. I can actually feed myself for 2 weeks for about 90.00. Also cheapest place I’ve seen bacon and chicken. Over all just be picky on your produce and honestly I would shop elsewhere for mine .

Nice new store prices are great cheaper in most stuff than larger commercial grocey stores around. The store is neat and well kept. Be sure to check the food before you buy. Some of the cheese had mold on it. They produce all looked good and nothing bad. Selfcheck out is simple and easy. They off brand foods are very good. The taste is close to major brands. Check them out. You will not be disappointed.

So glad Aldi's came to La Plata, MD. Great place to shop. Most checkout stations are self-service but wait times are nearly non-existent.
