This lady here (Janette Huseman) is one of the rudest, most unprofessionally, unprovoked people I've ever encountered. She is clearly in the wrong business and hates her job. I called her for four properties and she never called back. She had her secretary call back on the last one once she discovered I was black and transferred the property to a black realtor so she wouldn't have to be bothered with the black customer. Unfortunately, we had to call her about some issues with things in the unit and I got the chance to hear her voice and the rudeness and unprofessionalism she harbors. Please - for your own sanity - find another realtor. This one is not it.

This property management team is the worst with communication. I would not recommend anyone rent or even trust your property to people that do not value customers or customer service.

I have rented from Huseman Property Management since 2013. When I moved in, there was no walk through. All I received was a form to fill out and return by 5pm the following day. They seem to be pretty good for about a year. Afterwards when big ticket items such as the AC Unit, there was no water board in the bathroom, which caused mildew then that's when the issues came about. If I did not pay my rent by the 5th, a notice was put on my door on several occasions, but when something needed to be fixed, I received the runarounds. To add insult to injury, I received a notice that the property was being sold and I had to move by the end of June 2020. Since I have been residing there for almost 8 years, I inquired about purchasing the home, which I did not receive a response. Furthermore, I asked to be there when a walk-out was performed. I was told they had many properties to walk through and they would get back to me, which that did not happen. Subsequently, two months later, I received which I thought was my full security deposit, it was not. I immediately contacted the office about my concerns and eventually had to take them to court. Everytime a court date was provided, Scott came up with an excuse as to why he could not make that court date. It has almost been a year and I am still fighting for my deposit. I have pictures, videos, and emails to back up my case. To this date, he is still trying to make excuses not to attend court. The funny this is, since they owe me money, all I get is excuses, but if I owed them money, my credit would be jeporadized and I will be taken to court by them. I am very furious and don't know what else to do. Not feeling this management company at all.

Never fix complaints about leaky faucets or repair previous tenants damage and add ed those damages your security deposit. Double charged for cleaning, charge for lawn maintenanceEven though it was incuded. Should be rated 1/2 star. They do not take care of complaints of tenants

This review has been written 6 months after our deposit was partially returned—still waiting.1) Mrs Huseman will charm you in the beginning and then drop off the planet to leave her son, Mr Huseman to handle all aspects of the business but is usually in landlord court. You will be stuck with their secretary.2) All communication will be done via email. Good luck with a phone call. Keep all emails, they might be useful. Almost all maintenance requests will be denied.3) We were charged in excess of $300 to have repairs done to paint throughout the house we rented. We submitted a cd with pictures of the house, a letter specially regarding the condition of the house and that we would not pay for paint damage and our move in checklist. All were disregarded in terms of the paint.4) We were not afforded a final walkthrough, which is 100% illegal according to the Maryland Code and they forfeit any and all portions of our deposit even if we trashed the place. They claimed that because we moved out of state there couldn’t be one. They still have to offer. We can’t go to small claims because we are in another state. Gotcha!5) Request, rather demand a copy of the lease ahead of time. It’s shady. Unless you absolutely need a place, look for another property management company.6) Filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and they refused to answer claiming they just got the notice. I’ve had to call and notify them to pick up certified letters because they sat in their PO Box for several days.7) These people are crooks and operate at their own discretion. I could literally go on and on and we lived there less than 2 years.

I used Huseman as a property owner for the better part of 13 years and can't say enough great things about them. As an owner, they are full service and take care of all the maintenance issues. When we finally decided to sell, they were experts, helping with some of the major upgrades needed and helping sell the property quickly. It was a pleasure doing business with Huseman. If you find yourself needing to lease your property in Southern MD, Huseman is a winning team!
