I've only been here for Wednesday jazz, which is in the bar. Great way to spend a Wednesday evening: excellent food, great service, and fun atmosphere.

This was our second time at the restaurant and it was wonderful! We got the same thing again, which was short ribs, mashed potatoes & kung pow Brussels sprouts! OMG the food is delicious the service is great and the drinks are also Devine!

We came in late after visiting family in the area. The kitchen was about to close, and so was the restaurant. Our server was also the bartender, and he did a fabulous job holding down the tables in the bar area and the folks sitting at the bar. The food was delicious. It was late, so they were out of the crab dip. But the soup was rich and creamy, and the short ribs were tender and flavorful. I'll be back for some crab dip sometime soon!

The overall ambience was great, as our party arrived early for dinner. By the time we finished our meal, the crowd was just arriving. My husband and I shared the Mussels appetizer and a large Caesar salad, both of which were good. We each ordered a crab cake which was seasoned well. However, as long time Maryland seafood connoisseurs, we would have liked to have had a better example of a ‘lump' crab cake. That being said, we would like to dine here again to sample some of the other dishes featured at The Charles.

The Charles is a hidden gem! The food & beverage is wonderful, and the service is great. I have gone on a night that there were not live music and a night that there was and both were great. The jazz band is excellent!

After correcting the woman working a few times bc she didn’t seem to be listening to me, I started to get uncomfy and like I was being a nag. Then she hands me this “matcha”? Idk if she forgot the matcha or what. I get home and my brownie is practically batter. Idk if it’s a lack of training or what, I hope if we go back it’s a better experience.

The Market at the Charles is a hidden gem...delicious coffee, wide variety of pantry essentials, and tasty treats at the deli. My book club meets here once a month and we always have a great time. Some of my personal favorites are the curry chicken salad, the lox bagel, and the lemon coconut whoopie pie!

The Market at Charles is part of my regular weekly rotation for lunch during the week and casual coffee meet-ups on the weekend. My book club has found a home here with food and drink for all tastes and dietary needs, and a cozy nook that allows conversation.
I love tucking into a Market BLT in the Market's nook or taking it back to the office, or the concerts at Town Hall, or on the road, but TBH I spend a lot of quality time with the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado as well. And the bread? *chef's kiss*
Not sure what to get? Talk with Kai. She'll take care of you. Today, she sensed I needed an affogato and she was SO RIGHT.

Wow, love this market!! Love the eclectic variety of artisan food stuff, the wine room, the warm staff, and the lunch special is amazing! If you're there on the weekend, ask for Kai as her customer service is on point!

I love the wine room and the broad selection of desserts they always have. And they bake everything in house which gives a more homely loving vibe. Josephine really is the best baker I have had the pleasure of meeting❤️

Our appetizers came after the main course which was disappointing. But we weren't charged for them. My tacos were mediocre with only 2 shrimp on that taco. The bar service was very slow as usual taking 20-30 minutes to be served. We were disappointed overall without experience.

Food was good; no issues there, but everything else about this restaurant was subpar and left a lot to be desired. The bar area we first walked through was noisy with a TV playing, which conveyed more of a generic Applebees vibe than finer dining. The dining room itself was boring; too brightly lit, lacking ambience, and featuring generic cafe style tables and chairs. Our server was not rude, but she made no effort to do anything but rotely take our order and deliver our food, then plunked the bill on the table before we were even done eating, making the experience seem transactional and rushed. No one wants an excessively intrusive server, but a little courtesy, consideration, and poise would certainly help. So; while the food was good, the overall experience was definitely a disappointment and not worth the menu prices.
