I went there because they said the first visit was free and they would check general vitals, ears, and nose. But when I got there, they said they don’t do that and that my kitten is too young for vaccines (btw he is 7 weeks ready for 1st vaccine ). So basically, nothing was done I feel like I just wasted my time. Feels like a scam!

Let me just say the Team here is AMAZING. They are knowledge on goldfish is unmatched. The information and the customer service is superb. Thank you Kevin and Tara for helping me and my son with sustaining the life span for our fishes.

I had a grooming appointment for my dog and it was awful. I paid extra money for the summer package and they didn’t fulfill all of what the package included. Additionally, they were told not to trim the ears or tail and they did. My dog’s fur is extremely uneven and she looks like a complete mess. It will take forever to grow out, and I am honestly embarrassed. Absolutely horrible. I will never go back there again.

Wow the service was amazing. I just moved to LaPlata from Bowie and was amazed at you store. Your supplies were stocked. So different from the one kn Bowie where you have to wait for someone to check out. So glad I moved The cashier was very helpful. Thanks.

Employees are never checking on customers waiting to check out. You can be standing at the checkout counter sometime and make eye contact with them and they still won’t come to the register!

Staff were not friendly at all. Dog Feces all on the sidewalk of the establishment. You could barely walk without stepping in it! I though Clinton was bad. However this store is up there with them.

This Petco is awesome!!! The store is super clean and organized, and the staff is always super helpful and friendly.
Just a little rant if you're interested:
Ordered online for pick-up. Had 2 separate orders for pickup. I walked into the store and approached an unattended register, and waited briefly for a cashier. After there was another person waiting behind me, a cashier came over to the register, and I told him I was picking up an online order. He went to the other register and told me I had to wait off to the side because he didn't have a zebra. I didn't know Petco had zebras, but that makes sense because they are closely related to horses, I think. After about 3 or 4 customers got helped, another employee came over, looked like he may have been clocking back in from a break or something, and the cashier asked if he had a zebra, but he didn't. Shortly after, I was approached by another employee who was very friendly and after I verified my name, she showed me my order which was sitting in a cart right behind the register and cashier that I originally went up to. The employee verified that all my items were in the cart, and I thanked her for helping me and walked out of the store.
I understand that the world doesn't revolve around me, I also have quite a bit of patience, I'm not complaining one bit. I just want to understand why the cashier didn't have his own personal zebra. That would have made my pick-up waaaay quicker. Maybe for the next customer that does an online pickup, can there be more Zebras available. Also, I never saw an actual Zebra, so I waited around almost close to ten minutes, and I didn't get to see an actual Zebra, what the heck?
Just a rant, this was my most recent experience, and my first time ever doing an online pickup through Petco. I normally come in and shop. My overall experience was awesome. I just wanted to vent about how I waited around for a Zebra.

UPDATE as of 3/14/2024- the vet confirmed and reported this location for animal abuse. The results indicated strangulation (why is eyes were blood red and bulging out his sockets and the bruise on his nose was something flat and hard that caused bruising. I looped in my lawyer and almost forgot to update other dog parents to NOT BOOK HERE. Save your fur baby the trauma.

This location is absolutely horrible, the leopard geckos especially, i have been there 2 times in the last few months and they look worse and worse each time, i will no longer be shopping at pet co due to their animal neglect. the leopard geckos were also marked 50% off.

There were moths living in the dog treats at the dog treat bar. Definitely wouldn't recommend buying anything from this place unless you want to roll the dice in infesting your home.
