I wish I could leave a better review especially after being a customer for 6 years but I can’t. We arrived to pack up as we bought a house only to discover that our unit building had a massive rodent problem and they had torn up a lot of our stuff and also there was a leak at some point because everything was wet or damp and moldy. One of our couches was ruined and almost all of the clothes we had in there had to be thrown away. At over 400.00 a month I fill they should take better care of the units

We rented the small unit in the climate controlled space. Plenty of room, bug free and our items stored well! We are grateful to Kelly for her excellent customer service! We didn't know this until yesterday but Kelly walks the complex daily to ensure customers locked their units properly. Kelly is very responsive and professional! Though our time with Storage Plus is coming to an end, we are grateful we found this location.

Do not waste your money here!!! You've been warned! I was leaving a very dangerous domestic violence situation and had to move in quickly and explained this to the manager, Kelly. They were quick to take my money and so nice upon move in. 2 of the smallest units at around $400 a month and every few months they increase their rates by $12-$20. Insurance isn't your choice you MUST pay extra for it for EACH unit. But when it came time to me being ill and in & out of the hospital and Drs notes saying I cannot physically lift things or do strenuous exercise or any sort due to being in bedrest for 8 months with twins, then my daughter died and I've had issues paying rent Bc I've been at the hospital for last 6 months with both babies in the hospital. They were harsh and callus and all that mattered was the "contract." I've dealt with MANY MANY other storage units as I've moved over 10 times in the last 25 years. And NEVER have I been given a hard time and never was I shown such a lack of human decency, actually no business I've ever dealt with in my entire life has ever treated me with such disrespect. and told their contract says no. was zero empathy or human decency. I get it's a business but this is disgusting customer service. I have been blatantly lied to on several occasions, denied the deals I saw online for the first month rent free, charged almost double my rent in fee's during the same time I had to bury my 3 month old twin daughter. They don't give two shits, all they want is their money. They make it even harder to pay your rent too and lock your online account if your late and overlock your unit for being late by only jnder a week. And start charging late fees immediately. Nothing stops these people from scamming you out of your hard earned money with shiesty backhanded business tactics. They aren't even a 24 hour facility. They charge 30% higher than surrounding areas. The gate is either always open which makes no sense as your supposed to have a code to get in, hence the GATE and fence. Many times nobody is even in the office Bc they only have one staff member there and they lock the doors to the office which holds the only bathroom on the premise. How are you going to not have a publicly accessible bathroom when people are there for hours at times moving things? I will make sure to post this at every location they own and every local review site they are on. These people should not be in business. And I AM a business owner, so I understand the mechanics of running a business very well. Badly ran businesses should be called out and good ones need more praise. GO TO UHUAL!!! One of the biggest in the industry is uhual. Cheaper. Prices don't change, easily accessible, many more locations, more amenities for moving, available nationwide, better website and they have an app and customer service is available 24-7 as are the storage units. Better quality, affordable, flexible, very customer service oriented. GO TO U-HAUL!!!!!

I have nothing negative i could think of. The lady that helped me was kelly. She goes above and beyond with her job, she let me know.of all options, i wasnt surprised by any fine print details. Any question i had she had an answer and most of, when she communicates with you and doesnt feel like a business transaction but more of a friendly conversation with someone you have known for a while. I have never felt more comfortable walking in somewhere i never have before. If she isnt assisting customers she is always walking around cleaning up. The other gentleman that works there is very good as well. Took the time to find my info and close my unit when it was accidently left open in a rush. Overall this is a great and friendly place

Update 1: While the staff is very nice and the facility is clean. I cannot give a 5 star rating as our rates increased @ 6 months of opening the account. Rates increased 29.7% for a market adjustment. Just long enough for us to move too much stuff in, to easily move it out.We will be reevaluating our relationship.Also this review is because they texted me specifically asking for a review. Here ya go! Hope it helps future customers understand current business practices.Update 2: Spoke with Kelly about closing account procedures. Will update again after hearing back.

Self Storage in La Plata is well run with courteous and knowledgeable service. The storage units are clean dry, safe and easily accessible. I would recommend to anyone for short or long term storage needs.

I wanted to comment specifically about my experience with Samantha Johnson who helped me via phone today. We were having difficulty with our move because of the heat. I was not sure they would be accommodating. But she was very professional, extremely understanding and accommodating and I really appreciated her positive demeanor and can do attitude. She is a great asset to Self Storage Plus!!!

I would definitely recommend Self Storage Plus LaPlata location, to all my family, friends, clients and neighbors. My experience there has always been a pleasant one. The staff at Storage Plus LaPlata, goes up & beyond to help make sure your storage needs are met. I loved the fact that the LaPlata location was stocked with all the necessities needed for moving & storage, ie bubble wrap/storage various size boxes/packing tape/locks and much more. They were always professional, courteous and friendly. The units & grounds display bright lighting, allowing me to feel safe & secure.It saddens me to let go of my storage unit. I've purchased a home that has plenty of space...Yet, I will return in a heartbeat, if I need storage service in the future. Again, I would like to Thank the Property Manager & all her supporting staff. I will truly miss my storage unit.Yolonda Hunter

Clean, climate controlled and very secure facility. Management staff always available to answer questions - super friendly and professional - made the whole experience very pleasant. Rates were very competitive and well worth for the high-end storage space provided. I’d recommend the McLean facility all day long!!

Kelley made it super easy with getting a storage. They kept an open line of communication with me. Coming from Georgia to Maryland the process was convenient and easy. I did everything via online. When we arrive she was friendly, and showed great customer service. She even walk down to the storage to show me how to use a lock that we purchased.
