I transferred my prescriptions from CVS to Walgreens. Walgreens has proven itself to be a much better pharmacy. They are on top of their game when it comes to filling prescriptions on time and communicating with their customers. I will never return to CVS.

On this day (2/1/24) I was put on hold twice after going through the prompts from the automated system. I had only one question and had to wait almost 10 minutes to ask it. This is the reason people hate calling in, no real customer service!

This is the slowest and most disorganized pharmacy I have ever been to. I had dental surgery and chose this place because it is on the way home from the medical center. We have been here since 4:30 and it is now 7pm. Still waiting on one of three medications. They said they had the prescription then said they didn't. I had the doc call it back in and now they are saying another hour. This is crazy. I am in pain and just want to get home and lay down. So frustrating when you don't feel well.Update: was almost 8pm before prescriptions were filled. Pharmacist apparently had an issue with the pain meds the doc prescribed. She said she spoke to my doc and felt he was being forced to prescribe it. That was very insulting. I had to get him on speaker phone. She still refused to fill it. He had to prescribe something different. I am sure she had valid reasons for her concern although I don't know what they were. Just frustrating. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong by just trying to pick up what my doctor prescribed. Personally. I find the time this took and they way she spoke to both my husband and I unprofessional and insulting.

The reviews for this place are accurate. The staff is lacking management. I had an old prescription in the system, at a different dosage, and another medication called in by my doctor. One is deemed a controlled substance, so it needs a prescription called in every time. They deleted that prescription, not the duplicate, by accident. When I asked them how that happens, the pharmacist replies that the drugs sound very similar, and it probably happened because of that. THAT IS SO WRONG!! They are dispensing drugs that can kill you, and that is their response. Then they told me that they would send a request for the doctor to re call the prescription. The first time they sent back the prescription, Walgreens "did not receive it." I gave them the benefit of the doubt and physically went to the doctor's office to let them know. They replied to Walgreens while I was there in front of them. Then, two days later, they told me that the doctor had not sent it yet. I explained to them that I was there when the doctor sent the new prescription. They then sent another request, and I once again went to the doctor's office to tell them to send it. In front of me, they sent the request. This was the 4th time that this was sent by my doctor, including the original request. The response by Walgreens, when I told them this now turned into a "technical glitch."Not only is this a waste of time, but it has been almost 2 weeks that I have been trying to get my prescription. I will go to another pharmacist from now on.Stop giving them business and support an establishment whose management is responsible.

They are un professional, rude. Ontop of that they will release your prescription before even letting you know the prescription has been filled in the first place. If I could give negative stars I would

I just wanted to let you know how terrible your La Plata, Maryland location is. My mother dropped off 3 prescriptions at 11:30 am and was told it would take an hour and a half to fill. She waited over four hours to go pick up the medicine (just to be sure it was ready). She called and called to confirm and was on hold for over 30 minutes. She went through the drive thru and the lady only had ONE prescription ready. When my mom asked about the other two, the tech had no idea what she was talking about and had to go searching for the others. Then she was told it would be another hour wait !!! Needless to say we won’t be visiting Walgreens until they find some common sense!

Walgreens in LaPlata is the worst pharmacy available to us in southern Maryland. They are slow, deceiving and liars. They basically stole $500 from me. Will never go there again. The pharmacist and the pharmacy manager(not sure) were horrible to deal with and completely ineffectual in assisting with my insurance clss as I'm and my over the counter pricing. Never again!

Worst pharmacy I've ever been cursed with. Our new insurance has forced us to switch from CVS, which has been the best pharmacy we've ever had, to them. Walgreens is consistently severely slow, has only one person working the pharmacy counter 95 percent of the time, lose prescriptions, keep changing the cost and dispensing of medications where I need to keep fighting to correct it with them. If they contact you to say the prescription is ready, then go to pick up the prescription, it isn't ready yet!! Calling on the phone is horrible. They'll put you on hold forever and eventually hang up. I've had to call the store manager several times so that I can get any answers from the pharmacy. They raise my blood pressure every time I have to deal with them. If you have a choice of pharmacies, STAY AWAY FROM WALGREENS!!!

Jeremiah was the counter clerk and was the rudest person I have ever had to deal with. Nasty and unhelpful; just stood there and looked at me and wouldn't answer when I asked him a couple questions. I won't go back to this Walgreens if I have to drive 50 miles to go to another one. The lady in the photo kiosk was very nice and very helpful when I had trouble geeting my photo copied.

Do not use this pharmacy! I've never seen a place with such horrible costumer service and lack of concern for filling prescriptions. They had people standing in line for 30mins to just be told they were closing. Do better! Wish I could give zero stars. I will be changing pharmacies on Monday and never returning to Walgreens.

This is probably the worst Walgreens I have seen as far as the pharmacy goes. Please don't bother coming here with a prescription if you need it sooner than several days.

I would give it a negative star if they there was such a choice. There's no management no matter how many times I go there the pharmacy especially has no sense of service. Over 10 days the drive-through has been closed and the party line is we have the work order and we're waiting. Apparently they mentioned it was the phone connection at the drive-through. When it says we open at nine, forget it-at 9:09 they open the windows no apologies no good morning it would take more than a good morning from this poor staff to make me return to this walgreens. I'm having to transfer my prescriptions to a Walgreens miles away. Do yourself a favor stay away.

Slow. Disorganized. Say that they can't find my Rx even though my doctor's office faxed it multiple times. Long wait. So glad my insurance has switched to CVS.
