I instantly COMPLETELY understood why this location was rated 2.8 stars, as of 6/25/2025. From start to finish I had a bad experience with this one woman in particular. She opened up the location late first of all. I arrived for my 8am appointment at 8:04am. I'm a hertz gold member so i've done the process before where I can check in and just pick up the keys, in and out in under 5 minutes. I thought it would be the same. When I arrived there was already another customer waiting outside and she said they're closed. She was already on the phone with Hertz customer service to see how she can get her 8am car as well, because she was dropped off. At 8:15am we heard a loud sound from the building so we drove around to investigate. That's when I found the worst customer service employee I've ever seen. I STILL don't know her name because she never introduced herself. She actually said we were trespassing! She had no apology for being late. The person that was ahead of me got serviced first and thankfully another employee showed up at 8:30am and I didn't get my car until 8:45am. I come back to return the car at 8am again, everything was closed AGAIN. The same terrible employee has the same attitude as before, so it wasn't a one off. She does NOT deserve to be in customer service. The unprofessionalism, rudeness, and disrespect is uncalled for. If you don't want to start and end your vacation/road trip with a bad experience then avoid this location or else you might see her! I don't know her name but I will describe her as being an older lady in her 50's, having a short cut, overweight, and belly hanging out of the bottom of her shirt. If you have a 2.8 star review, you should be doing everything you can do get GREAT reviews. She is trying to do the opposite. She's completely unaware. I'm an employee and a part time business owner, my mind wouldn't even think to speak to my clients like she did. Truly insane and unfortunate. There has to be accountability, which is why I'm leaving this review.

HERTZ - Where are your human beings. You CANNOT have good custmer service with no human beings. Computers are good for answering basic questions. They cannot answer ALL questions. You need human beings answering your phones.

The location has good points;
- polite and professional workers
- directly off the highway
The bad points/cons:
- today when I arrived the only person working was super polite greeted me and told me it would be a long wait for a car because she was the only person working and then she proceeded to clean a car. If you only have one person working working that means she would have to answer the phone , greet customers, clean cars, check in returned cars, sign for FedEx (yes she had to ask the FedEx man to wait), and checkout rentals. That’s not reasonable.
They expected one person to do a 3 person job. I waited 45 mins before I canceled and everywhere else is pretty much sold out.
This location never has upgrades, never have a person to clean the cars (the office workers have to try to do it) it’s just bad and should probably close and send the employees to work at one of the other locations.

David provided outstanding service to my husband when renting a car today after we needed to bring ours into the shop for an emergency today. We will look to them in the future!

I'll start by saying the staff was polite and professional. My issue lies more on the side of the system, I suppose. I'll make this quick because I'm in a rush after my third visit to this Annapolis road facility. Due to this establishment running out of cars (that I thought was booked and confirmed) I have missed my father's funeral. One would assume that an asset such as a motor vehicle would be on a digital inventory system to avoid such a logistical misunderstanding. One would also assume you would notify the client that his or her vehicle is not available at the time agreed at pickup. I have lost time. I have lost money. I have lost family, but yet I have gained nothing. We have got to do better, respectfully.

HORRIBLE SERVICE they could offer me a free rental and I still wouldn’t return to this location they lack professionalism and Do Not know how to communicate effectively you can have a reservation and the still won’t have a vehicle it’s ridiculous very dysfunctional STAY AWAY…………….

Trash and completely unprofessional establishment, had a car pickup for 9AM a couple of days ago and they told me they didn’t have any cars available and that i should check with a different location.
They then tried to blame me by saying they didn’t have my rental available since i booked it a day before, but they waited for me to drive all the way to them in person instead of giving me a prior notice through email or phone to avoid the hassle.
Will never be renting with them ever again, SAVE YOUR MONEY

My experience was great. I arrived at 5:02p, under the impression Hertz closed at 5:30p, and David C. stayed to assist me anyway. He was polite & pleasant, helpful, and went above and beyong to get me into a vehicle this evening. Based on this experience alone, I'd return.

I had an excellent experience at this Hertz location! The manager provided outstanding customer service while multitasking—washing cars, answering phones, handling service tickets and cleaning, David, a co-worker, also brings awesome energy to the team. Manager (Ty) efficiently managed my insurance claim despite the high demand, often with just two staff members. Highly recommend this location for both rentals and insurance claims! Keep up the great work!

David G. is the best and skilled with great customer service professional where he was very informative and helpful about Hertz’s offerings, and also, ensured I had the car that fits my traveling needs. I will be revisiting because of him and his great team there at the Landover Hills , Md Location for Hertz.

The staff is RUDE AS HELL y’all need to redo that entire Friday December 6th 2024 morning staff they are ghetto as ever cutting me off while I’m talking! Yelling at me telling me I got the wrong location and they don’t do this and that talking to me like I’M NOT A CUSTOMER ITS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE TO ME TALKING TO SOMEONE WHO IS PAYING YALL 300 A WEEK THAT WAY.
