Bought potato bonda yesterday. The potato filling was stale and spoiled. After one bite had to throw it all away. Disappointed. I think the problem is with the chef’s work ethic. The restaurant owners are honest and best guess is that they would not knowingly allow rotten food to be served.

I do have a nut allergy, so unfortunately, I haven't been able to get anything besides the dosas. I really like the dosas, especially the masala dosa. However, I just don't feel like there are enough options to include the ghee on the dosa, because the ghee is what gives the but I just wish that there were more options to get the ghee on the dosa, because the ghee is what gives the dosa its crispiness. The potatoes in the dosa are also pretty good. Dosas are pretty huge, along with the sambar that comes with it. I recently tried the paneer tikka as I learned from the owner that dish does not have nuts, and it was decent. I felt like it could have been served without the red dye on top, but it was still delicious. The song volume is sometimes a bit too high in the restaurant, affecting the atmosphere, so that would probably be my only critique.Overall, highly recommend.

We gave specific instructions to serve onion and garlic free food but it was served with onion and garlic. When we pointed it out they simply told that we would not be charged for it, without any courtesy. On top of that the food tasted stale and oily. The quality has gone down the drain. Visit this place if you need to choose between starvation and mediocre food.

Love the food at Woodlands. Service is always great and they have an all vegetarian menu and certainly dishes are vegan (vegan menu is on their website).

Woodlands has become our favorite go-to-place for Dosas and similar south Indian dishes. Today the pudina roast, that I tried for the first time, was just heavenly and deserves special commendation! Dont miss it! The pani puri was also very good with freshly made puris and additionally, at great value. Good job woodlands!

It is very sad to see this place’s quality go down with every visit. We had ordered Spinach dosa which came out horrible and upon telling the server she was upset and made an unfriendly face rest of the time. The music was very loud and only devotional? They could play some mellow subtle music instead? Our server - a young girl communicated with everyone in a loud voice- more appropriate in a vegetable market than a sit down restaurant!Thumbs down in total for this restaurant as the Sambhar was also very watery!

After reflecting on how unbelievably sick I got after eating at this place, I am here, months later, still furious, and typing up my review. This was the only meal my husband and I shared in 3 days, him traveling and me working. Not only did we leave paying an insane amount for the tiniest portions ive ever seen at an Indian restaurant..We both got the sickest we have ever been in our lives. Fever, shaking, and the most violent throw up either of us have ever experienced. Looking back on it, we probably should went gone to the hospital. My husbands parents live with us and we share drinks all the time- They did not get this. It followed the pattern of food poisoning. This place got us extremely sick.We almost took my 80 year old grandmother, I do not think she would survive what we endured.I am telling anymore reading this to NOT GO HERE. The place should be shut down.

Tasty pure vegetarian restaurant. I like their Jaipuri Paneer Dosa the most. The atmosphere is conducive to mindful eating with beautiful painting and light

I remember coming here as a kid. It was nice to make a random stop much later in life and enjoy a pure vegetarian dish. If you want to go when there’s no rush 5-7 PM might be your best bet! Kudos to the server for getting me the yellow aloo curry to pair with my puri..!

The food and service were okay, but a concerning incident occurred towards the end of our meal. My son found an insect/mouse trap between the seats, clearly marked 'keep out of reach of children.' We noticed it before he touched it. Unfortunately, due to this safety concern, we won't be returning to this restaurant.

TRUST: ya'll wanna come here for some of the BEST South Indian food in the country. This was verified by my partner who lived in Tamil Naud for a while...You are all probably extremely familiar with a bunch of North Indian dishes (like tikka masala and butter chicken), but y'all definitely sleeping on South Indian cooking. First off, this place is completely vegetarian. I recommend trying some South Indian dishes-- get some DOSA (I like the crispy Ghee Roast, Mysore Masala (!!!), or Podi Dosa), or get some podi idli. They come with amazing chutneys and sambar. Basically you dip pieces of the dosa and/or idli in the chutneys and/or the sambar (soup), and enjoy the heck outta the amazing flavors. They also crush the North Indian dishes too! Our fam likes the malai kofta, and I DREAM about their Gobi Manchurian (Indo-Chinese Fried cauliflower)-- gimmie a whole platter to myself!!! They ask you about heat levels-- the hot is ACTUALLY HOT (not just white ppl hot). So take your desired spice level seriously.FYI: They do not serve alcohol (respect to their cultural/ religious values plz), so don't come expecting to hit up Happy Hour. This place is super chill-- it's a family restaurant, it's causal and kills it in their food game. Every meal I have had here is extremely memorable. I literally fly in from LA to come here once a year. There are other spots with the same name, that happens! This is not a chain! If y'all are in NoVA, get over to Woodlands and try it!
