A 30 years customer I have witnessed Citi bank sliding into a corporation that is irresponsible, messy, and greedy in customer service. Last yr, I wrote a check to a company for home improvement and the check was cashed out TWICE! In a same day ( the amount as I wrote and another $750). I called, wrote and emailed Citi repeatedly but got no result, only "investigation" or other excuse...I filed a complaint at Federal Financially Consumer Protection bout this. Citi then send me a letter saying it'd refund the $750, no apology no explanation. Now cCiti is converting all the checking accounts to "simplified banking" with monthly fees, regardless of accts with direct deposits or reasonably high balance (why not do it with only those without DD or with certain low balance?). And it sent email/letters not to me, the primary acct holder, but only to my spouse the joint owner. I called Citi asking why. They again had no explanation or sorry, only "send another letter to both you". So messy and weird. BTW: I had trouble going thru Citi phone system, extremely hard to get a real person to talk and lost in all the fuzzy choices by computer. I also felt hard,m understanding Citi reps on the phone maybe due to their accent. I want to be clear though: they were patient and nice. It is the top management that has dragging down the services!

This is why this branch sucks. The manager and the teller that we dealt with are rude. They pick and choose who checks they want to cash. My husband and I had a refund check from Ally that the manager checked first and stated that they could cash no problem. The teller stated they couldn't cash the check because two people names were on there. Which was my husband and I and we were both together at the bank. The teller called the manager and then he changed his tune stating that we weren't his clients anyway that he didn't have to cash it. Very rude and unprofessional. This is why Citi bank suffers as a whole. Managers need training, tellers need training no customer service no respect. Issa Alna Ouri Is the manager and he should be fired he's gonna run this branch in the ground.

Spoke to a rude gentleman named Lawrence at the Laurel branch who told me that even though I called hours before they closed there was absolutely no available time for me to open a checking account today. If it takes only thirty minutes to open an account why are you sending me through so much to open an account???

Worst experience ever. I came here to resolve an account issue and the lady made me read the letter that I brought with me as if I can’t read the letter. Closed the account today.

Citi bank is the absolute worst bank I have ever seen or banked with. I had an issue with my online banking and 8 calls later (each call more than 1 hour) still no resolution. "Go and wait 24hours and try again" the same answer I got every time. Even after a visit to the branch still no resolution. Thats not all. I got a letter saying I should come to the branch to provide some documents. I went to the branch and provided the document. 2 days later my account is blocked. Reason: to provide the same document I had provided 2 days earlier. Went to the branch again to fix the problem. I have now been waiting for more than 3hours for the issue to be resolved. Absolutely the worst bank ever!!!

Do not use the online appointment booking system. It is totally useless. Made a 12 p.m. appointment online and was assigned a rep named Jane Iftoni. I arrived at 11:55 p.m. and informed the teller that I had a 12 p.m. appointment with this rep. I was told to sit down and wait. Waited for over a half an hour. I got up to ask someone where Jane Iftoni was. "Oh, she is not here today." All other reps were busy with other clients for long periods of time. Waited another 15 minutes for someone else to help me. That person was not able to resolve an account problem that I had. Totally wasted at hour at this useless Citibank Branch (Laurel Lakes, MD).

I was being helped by one teller and because of my situation made be to feel like it was my fault. Her attitude seeped over to her work. She was cordial enough as was her manager but that was it. They just did the what had to be done and in the interest of the bank. The other teller was taking very good care of her customer. Ms. Caitlin Boyles was also helping someone. Her willingness to help and be an advocate for the customer was evident. Once she took care of her she immediately took care of another customer. She was very thorough. A vast contrast to the help I was given. The supervisor Ms. Cruz did her job but there was no personality in it. When she was behind the glass helping my teller she was short with her answers to the question I asked. It was until I showed I had the money to pay the fine that she was a tad more cordial. Ms. Caitlin Boyles, I thank you for you professionalism and your willingness to help your customer. My regret was that I didn't get to help me with my issue.

This branch is terrible, they don’t even deserve a star. I’ve been waiting for almost 2 hours. First I was waiting on the line, then my turn came. Talked to the lady. She told me to wait for some other people, waited again, then talked to a guy, he directed me to a lady, I talked to her. She couldn’t help me and sent me to the person that I talked first. She was about to help me but the last lady I talked, told her to help other people before me. It was so disrespectful.

Wanted to share an experience that has finally been resolved. Granted, I have had very little success each time I call one of the area branches, but fortunately this time Mr Issa picked up the phone. He is the branch manager in Laurel and is the only one who was able to address my issue. As busy as he is, he was able to follow up with Citi Corporate and research my issue of the bonus hitting my account. Kudos to you, sir.

Never go to this bank if you have too! They are so so so slow and there is never enough people in here. Maybe I’m just used to navy fed and how fast they are and how they always have a full staff but if my job did not bank here I would never come here

That black girl with the blond is very ghetto and unprofessional. She was constantly rolling her eyes at me and sucking her teeth while I was doing my transaction. I always have a better experience when I go to the Hispanic teller. When I go there next time I'm just going to avoid her all together and just let the white or Hispanic tellers help me

I opened my account for Citi bank back in November 2021, since then my account has been closed twice due to fraudulent activity which I didn’t do and customer service takes hours to get to a resolution. Avoid the hassle and stay away from this bank. The worse part was since I live in Baltimore the nearest branch was 45mins away from me and they didn’t provide any help so it was just a waste of gas!!! Stay away
