I recently hired this local moving business to handle my relocation. We agreed that he and his team would pack, transport, and deliver all my belongings to the new property. He assured me of his familiarity with military moves and the necessity of obtaining full and empty weight receipts for the truck. However, on moving day, two of his workers were unavailable, leaving just him and his son to perform the work. Despite this reduced crew, I was still charged the flatrate for three to four movers. Additionally, at the end of the move, he informed me that he did not obtain the agreed-upon weight receipts, stating he did not see the necessity for an empty weight, and ran out of time for a full weight which contradicted our prior agreement. I felt that if there were the agreed-upon 3 to 4 movers, then the time would have been met. While he offered a ‘discount,’ it felt more like a concession for not fulfilling the original terms of service. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations, particularly given the initial assurances and the final outcome.
I will say, however, that they did get the job done well and were very kind, except for the fact that I needed those receipts, which is why I hired them in the first place because he said that he had be familiar with Military moves. That is why I am leaving three stars because I would have given a full five stars if he had just Been clear about whether or not he was familiar with Military moves, hours for weighs, and reliable workers. I really just wanted to support a local business.
Edit: do not have any private conversations in your home in front of him. I also did pay all the required fees. So if that is not a show of gratitude in itself I am unsure what is.

Harold and Matthew were an amazing pair, working tirelessly for 20 hours under the most extreme weather circumstances (chill factor was near zero Fahrenheit, and winds were gusting up to 40 mph). They moved us from Calvert County to the Virginia mountains, and took great care of our furnishings including a grand piano and many large and/or delicate pieces. Very honest, and stuck to the estimate. I highly recommend them!

I highly reccommend Hoffman Transport and Moving Services. I had a last minute move and my friends who would normally help me move were out of town. Hoffman relieved me of a lot of that stress by making my move easy.
They're professional, courteous and nothing was lost or damaged during the move. If youre looking for someone who gets the job done well for reasonable rates, you can absolutely rely on them.

We can't thank Harold and his team enough for making our move from Calvert County to Florida as seamless as possible. Harold and his team were professional, courteous and so careful with our stuff (which was a lot of stuff!!) We would highly recommend them!

From the initial walkthrough for a quote to the final item being placed in our new home, Harold and his team from Hoffman Moving Services made the move less stressful and actually an enjoyable experience. They took great care to protect our furniture from scratches or damage by wrapping them all before loading. At the new home, they were careful in moving in boxes and furniture to ensure that there was no damage to our freshly painted walls, as well as putting down multiple runners to protect our new flooring. In unpacking, we found nothing broken or damaged which just continued to show the level or care that was taken with our items. I would highly recommend Harold and his services to anyone who wants a company that is professional, friendly and treats your personal belongings with care.

We used Hoffman Moving to move our home from California MD to Huntersville NC. Harold and his son Matthew did an absolutely fantastic job - hard working, polite, and efficient. Plus a shout out to Casey who helped them with the packup in Maryland. I appreciated the fixed-fee contract rate (no add-on surprises!) which was very reasonable and fair - less than I had expected for the job. Highly recommend this company for your moving and transport needs

Super rude and unprofessional. The owner and his brother are horrific. The young son was polite and kind. Charged me way too much for the job and had the audacity to talk to me like absolute trash. Do not use if you are a woman, just the worst experience!

Cannot say enough wonderful things about Hoffman Transport & Moving! They are professional, efficient, and a great value. They truly had us packed & loaded (2 bed 2 bath apt) within an hour and unpacked in another hour. They did a great job and took fantastic care of our belongings. 100% recommend them!

Everything went smoothly from my initial phone call to Harold inquiring about his company to the moving day itself. Harold responded quickly and professionally to my questions prior to the move.On the day of the move, he and his team worked efficiently and very carefully. Not only are they hard workers (they had to contend with A LOT of steps!!), they are also very nice/polite people. They promised me that they’d take good care of our things, and they kept that promise.I highly recommend Hoffman’s Moving Co. and would definitely use them again.

Called these guys about a week ago and schedule a walkthrough. Was told that they would be here between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m on the agreed day. 305pm came so I called them to find out what was going on. When the guy answered all you could hear was kids in the background so obviously he was with his family. I got no call and no show. This is no way to run a business. My recommendations is fine another moving company that is more responsible
