I recently stayed here in the off season and can’t say enough about how great the location is! It’s directly in front of the boardwalk, just steps from the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable and housekeeping took great care to clean each day and replenish towels, cups, and the essentials. The front desk staff were very welcoming and kind, and check in/out was easy and fast. Great parking and easy access to my room from the beach. The bathrooms are quite small, especially the shower, but not something I couldn’t live with. Overall, it’s a great place that I plan on returning to next year!

We wanted a room on the 2nd floor but got the 4th floor. We did get an ocean view. The room was very small with a king bed. Like it was just put together. There was no bathroom fan. Our phone didn't work to call the front desk. We were left with 1 bath towel, 4 hand towels and 2 wash clothes. Because the phone didn't work I had to go to the front desk and ask. They couldn't give us any information on what was happening daily at Sunfest or where the most popular eateries were located. We just sort of missed a lot.Rooms: Not big enough.Nearby activities: It was sunfest. It was nice.Walkability: Perfect!!

I was really disappointed. The first room we were given smelled like mold and had a wet carpet. I asked to change rooms and the front desk clerk came with me to check to the room (he was very nice and understood). He took one step inside the room and said "yup i smell it i will change the room immediately."We were given the room next door which smelled clean, however there were a few visible issues:black mold in the bathroomdamp carpetwet walls (yes, walls)mold next to beds on the walls and discoloration where the walls have clearly been wet.My friend and i booked the room for two nights but left a day early because we decided to drive 4 hours home at 11pm rather than stay another night in the hotel.my friend also left her jewelry (rings) in the shower , called the hotel on our way home that night but they said they weren't there. she has double checked her bag , we assume they were taken.

We checked in and checked out within the hour. We did not realize it was Bike Week. Loud and left us feeling unsafe. Someone in the elevator told us he couldn't sleep for the snoring next door. Property needs serious updating. Threadbare and raveled carpeting. We had to park two blocks away. Very uncomfortable about leaving our car unattended. Staff was friendly and indicated we could probably get a refund from 3rd party booking agent. Hotel denied refund when contacted by agent.

This hotel was one of the absolutely worst places I've ever stayed at. When we arrived there was no parking in either of the lots besides the hotel and had to park in a lot a block away in a spot made for a mini Cooper. I have a full size SUV. There was no available parking in the 20 min unloading spots so we had to carry our belongings from a block away. Due to my health conditions, this was both painful and tiring. Our room was the size of a shoe box with the beds maybe a foot apart with table edges that are sharp sticking into the bed with a wall on the other side. . My daughter heard mice squeaking in the walls in the bathroom, the carpet was wet and smelled musty, there was no soap in the bathroom, unfriendly kids were running the front desk and the room was not very clean. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone

I would recommend staying here. I'm not sure why the reviews are negative recently. The room was very small, but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The hotel was right on the beach which was awesome. The air conditioner worked perfectly and we were comfortable sleeping. The pool was awesome and had a happy hour daily we went to after a day at the beach. They also had live music on Sunday. I would definitely stay again!

I've been coming to Harrison Hall Hotel since I was a little girl . Nothing fancy . The hotel is 70 years old . But that's the charm of it . And everything is in working order. Hot water in the shower. The rooms are clean . Washers and dryers are in good working order . And all the outside doors are locked after a certain time , for safety . The prices are very reasonable . The front desk staff is nice and very accommodating to guests . I enjoy sitting on a big old rocking chair on the hotel's welcoming porch . Last but not least ... Its the cozy restaurant located below the hotel ! DaVinci's By The Sea. The best Italian food Ive ever had ! Really delicious , and a very homey atmosphere. I always have a nice time when I stay at Harrison Hall Hotel . Its very nostalgic.

The location was good but hotel needs a lot of work the rooms are extremely small, carpet is very dirty. The bathroom is 3ft by 3ft and the parking lot holds about twenty vehicles the outdoor pool is across street absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Also, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night horrible. The next day the housekeeping person was in the room next to ours for hours and I asked this person was our room next she said yes then we left for three hours and came back to a room that was not clean I highly recommend condemning and starting over

It was a perfectly nice place to stay for a beach weekend. I wouldn't want to stay much longer than that -- the rooms, as noted by others, are small -- but it worked for two adults and one child for two nights. It was clean, conveniently located, had AC and a pool (great for the day when the ocean waters were too rough for swimming). Checkin was easy, coffee was in the main lobby and we were able to find parking easily enough. I particularly enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the rocking Adirondack chairs. The 9-year-old also learned the joys of cable.

I’ve stayed at the Harrison many times and I intend on staying here many more times. I look at it as comfort over 5 Star Quality. The rooms are clean, but they are small (I don’t care I don’t intend on doing anything in my room except, showering, sleeping, & napping.) No shampoo and conditioner which is fine I always bring my own. Bathroom is small. AC system worked great. No complaints; The hotel is 70 years old and for being 70 years old it is in great shape, could they renovate absolutely but that also means prices go up and I’m happy with what I pay. I love how close it is to the beach and what I LOVE more is the pool and the pool bar. It’s behind the hotel so when you leave the beach midday the sun is following you. The staff is always nice and accommodating. If you intend on living in your hotel room during your trip then maybe this isn’t the place for you. I’ve never had a bad experience.

Booked this place due to last minute trip. Nothing else was available during my stay therefore had to book here. Not terrible. Pretty cheap (compared to other hotels in the area) and so you get what you pay for. Rooms are tiny as so are the beds. When we got into our room there was a heavy smell which went away the first day. Bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned. Pool is amazing however! Very spacious and clean pool. Water was nice as well. If looking to book something for a few days and you won't be in the hotel anyways (prob spending more time at the beach) then this hotel is fine. It is less than 1 minute walk to the beach which was great as well.

The location is absolutely perfect and the number one reason we chose this hotel. It’s right against the boardwalk and only 15 blocks from the main pier with the Jolly Roger.Everything else is very poor and made me question the value of what we spent on the hotel.I would not go so far as to say the staff was rude or impolite, but they were very disinterested in helping us or answering any basic questions. For example, a simple question of “Do you offer shampoo?” was met with “That’s a housekeeping question,” instead of an actual answer. The room had poor amenities at best. The AC is a window unit with controls in the room, no shampoo or conditioner was provided, only soap that was empty when we arrived in our freshly prepared room and that we had to request from the front desk.Housekeeping felt it was fitting to park their carts in front of our room the entire duration of our stay even though they never cleaned or refreshed our room once. The housekeeping carts made it even more difficult to navigate as the hallways are barely wide enough for two people to pass uncomfortably. The elevator is also very tiny and barely fits a family of four. If you have to use the luggage cart to get your belongings to the room, then you can fit only the cart and yourself. If any other passengers are on the elevator you will be unable to use it.The food at the attached restaurant also looked like chef boyardee when we walked by.The bed was decently sized for the two of us, but it was so hard it hurt my back more and more with every night I spent sleeping in it. Every morning I would wake up feeling sore spots from where the springs dug into me all night.Rooms: The bed was decently sized for the two of us, but it was so hard it hurt my back more and more with every night I spent sleeping in it. Every morning I would wake up feeling sore spots from where the springs dug into me all night.Walkability: Right on the boardwalk and the beach, and located a very reasonable walking distance from other activities, restaurants, and shops.Food & drinks: The food at the attached restaurant also looked like chef boyardee when we walked by.

2 stars is stretching it. We booked an economy room and paid $450 for 2 nights. When we checked in we were greeted with a room that was no bigger than a college dorm. Once we put our bags down we had no room to walk around. The bad was no bigger than a twin. For 2 people it was not comfortable to sleep in at all. However, front desk staff were excellent. They were super kind and helped our issue right away even offering to call Expedia themselves to help us get a refund as the hotel room did not look anything like the pictures. Tony and Rowan at the front desk were absolutely wonderful! The only semi good part about this place was the location but even then the elevator was no bigger than a postage stamp and the lobby is on the second floor.

Overall a very decent hotel. Yes, I get that it's older than most of them, but the coziness is what makes this place great! The only reason why I didn't give them a five, the walls are kind of thin and you can hear what's going on basically the next room over. Other than that, the staff are EXTREMELY courteous and welcoming. When they heard that this was a special trip for my wife that she hasn't been to OCMD in 24 years, they gave us the green light to check in an hour early and get ourselves organized. The room smelled clean and the toiletries were stocked fully along with nice clean sheets. I absolutely loved that it's right on the quiet end of the boardwalk. And even though it rained on the first day, sitting out on the porch and listening to the rain fall put me at peace from a very hectic work schedule. Yes the room isn't the biggest, but it's cozy. I mean, we're out the room about 85% of the time anyways. I REALLY don't know why this place gets a bad review. I think it's mostly idiots who review it who want 5 star hotels at a 2 star deal. Get over yourself. I definitely will be returning next year with more of my family!

The only reason I'm not giving this hotel a single star is because it is very close to the water and squarely in the middle of the boardwalk. The rooms are tiny, dingy and mostly clean. They left the cleaning cart in front of our room for whole days at a time and the hallways are very small making it very hard to get in and out of our room comfortably. The elevator is so tiny that only 4 adults could be in it at a time and the luggage carts were mostly broken.the bed felt so flat that it might as well have just been the spring mattress honestly. They did have AC units in every room and free Wi-Fi throughout, plenty of outlets and the shower is an ok size. The staff was moody and not pleasant. They seemed annoyed whenever we asked any questions. We asked if our hotel room came with soap and shampoo, a pretty standard request and the front desk person said "you'd have to ask the cleaning crew." And then turned away from us... very rude... we also asked about pool hours because they weren't posted anywhere and they also were flippant about that as well... they said just anytime before dark..? I mean I'm asking the staff very standard questions about there facilities. The parking was also very bare which is obnoxious but a lot of OC is hard to park at.We found it ok because we spent our time out and about and the price wasn't too bad at $215 a night to be right in the beach.
