My friend and I booked a room here as we were attending the oceans calling music festival and the location seemed good. The website made it look really nice. When we arrived it was immediately apparent neither of us were going to feel safe staying there. It was very run down and not at all what we thought we booked. Each room had a window ac unit and they were all leaking, I can only imagine the smell inside. The siding was old and in need of repair and the stairs looked sketchy. We tried to cancel the room but they charged us $200/ per person! I understand paying a cancellation fee when canceling within 24 hrs but that was ridiculous. Save your money and book at one of the other hotel on the boardwalk. There are plenty around there and they’re likely much less expensive and much nicer!

I would not stay here if I was you. I took a chance on this “hotel” because I am not one to judge a book. I would rather see for myself. I will start off by saying that the only good thing about this hotel, if you can call it that, is the location. My husband and I rented a room and it was my fault but I only put one person. When we got there we had to pay 50 dollars for me. We said that’s fine because that was my mistake. But the room we got was not the room that we booked. I even spoke to booking.com where we booked it through and they spoke to the man who confirmed that was not the room that was booked. The total that it came out to was more than the comfort inn and the amenities? I don’t even know what they are since all they had was a microwave and coffee maker. Oh maybe the ice machine but that was it. The bathroom wasn’t even big enough to fit one person. The room was like a bit bigger than a closet and I have seen walk in closets that are bigger than the rooms. The “double” bed was barely able to fit two adults. The walls are paper thin. My husband and I did not sleep at all due to all the sounds and being right by the street. The people checking out before us was stating a probably and we just gave our keys. Don’t waste your money. There are other hotels in the area with better service. While the room looked clean, I put my own sheets on the bed. Stay if you want but the “hotel” is not worth the money that they are charging.

Right by the board walk. Rooms are kinda small but they are affordable!

This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. This place doesn’t even deserve to be called a hotel.
When we arrived there was an older lady at the front desk with an accent. She was very rude. You could tell her favorite part of her job is taking people’s $200 deposit when checking in. (If you’re under 30 when booking, you need to put down a $200 CASH deposit when checking in)
Tried connecting to their free WiFi & couldn’t because too many people were connected at once.. Maybe get a WiFi router meant for a hotel if you’re going to offer free WiFi.
After Checking in & going into our room, there were many things that were red flags.. For one, the lock on the door one of the ones where you push in the lock on the door handle. Second, the door frame was filthy. It looked like it hadn’t been clean in years. The wall above the window where the AC unit was had dark brown spots on it. Third, the bed sheets had dark stains on them.. Maybe dirt? Fourth, the carpet had cigarette burns in it & was filthy. We found a piece of a brownie on the carpet under the bed! Did they even clean our room?!
We had absolutely ZERO sleep during the night. The walls are paper thin & you can hear everything. We were constantly kept up by another couple fighting all night while they were completely wasted. It also sounded like they were physically fighting as there were a lot of other noises besides their screams & yelling. It was so bad that we watched another guest from our window pack up & LEAVE around 3AM! If we had another option to stay that night we would’ve done the same!
Then to wrap it up, we started our day bright & early to make sure the room was spotless in order to get our $200 cash deposit back. It was like being our own housekeeper.. That room was the cleanest it’s probably ever been once me & my fiancé were done with it. We checked our 2 hours earlier than the check out time to get out of that hell hole ASAP.
The only three things that are positive about staying at the Wellington Hotel are the AC units, The distance from the boardwalk, & the one taller gentleman without an accent who checked us out. Maybe the lady with the accent can learn a thing or two about manners from him.
Our second night there we stayed at the Comfort Inn on the boardwalk & it was lovely! More worth your money if you want respect, cleanliness, complimentary breakfast, actual housekeepers, & no $200 cash security deposit.

The stuff were nice and the rooms are soooo clean and it’s so close to the boardwalk, highly recommend this place! However the shower pressure needs to be improved but rather than that it’s very nice experience!

My husband & I spent 3 nights here celebrating our anniversary. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Here are some pros & cons. The room was very clean, I mean baseboards, lamp shades, etc...spotless. The staff was friendly & helpful. The beds were really comfortable, there is a beer/wine convenient store next door and less than 10 steps you are on the boardwalk, excellent location! However, the parking was tight, no elevator, no microwave in the room, clock or phone. Where I'm from, I'm use to having those things. Also, there is no AC in the bathroom and the unit had to be on high to cool room, unit kinda small for the room in my opinion. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

I want to start this off with that i never leave reviews on people’s business’s so the fact that im doing this should tell you the situation is bad. The staff is so rude. I booked with this hotel through expedia and cancelled within 30 mins after booking and they are still fighting with me to give me a full refund. The people with expedia were so nice to handle it for me to try and get me my refund and apparently that was upsetting for the front desk person because they even made a comment about it on the phone. I find this extremely unprofessional, the person who answered the phone was extremely rude and kept cutting me off and telling me it’s their “policy”. I even tried to call back to get the persons first name and what a surprise that they wouldn’t answer the phone anymore. I would NOT recommend booking with them.

Hotel is old but was a clean place to sleep. No elevator but the stairs are easy to climb. The hallway lights stay on probably for safety but the light shines through the doorway frame. Staff was always kind. We mostly saw Guy. Very friendly very nice. Conveniently located to the boardwalk.

Myself and my wife's first time visiting and staying in ocean city. Looked at Google reviews for places that were on Expedia and this gem pooped up. The price was low and the location was great. I looked at the Google reviews and everyone was saying how it was the perfect place. Great location, decent price, and the rooms were nice. I figured hey with all theses positive reviews cant everyone be crazy wo we booked. Im glad we did, 5 stars all day the gentlemen at the front desk was great and gor us in our room early. Definitely would suggest your stay here and me and my family will definitely be back. Thanks for the great service Wellington.

I wasn't sure what to expect booking such an inexpensive place. We decided last minute to take a beach trip and wanted to keep it cheap. The Wellington exceeded our expectations. The room had 2 double beds - perfect for me and my teenage daughter. It was updated, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and updated. The mini fridge was a good size, which wr appreciated because we broguht food to cut down on restaurant costs. The cons of the room were that there are blinds on the windows (window a/c unit) and a light outside so it was never fully dark in the room. There are also lots of wooden stairs and railings (no elevator, not accessible for those who can't do stairs). Bringing our luggage up was tricky, but didn't bother us. The only lock on the door is a push button handle lock, so we kept out suitcases behind the door at night because we were unsure of the safety (2 girls traveling alone together). We didn't need to - it was totally safe. Just a precaution.
The staff was very nice and helpful. They offer coffee and tea in the lobby in the mornings. (No coffee makers in the room. We brought our own keurig.) Housekeeping came every day and brought fresh towels and cleaned.
The location was perfect! You can see the boardwalk from the lobby side of the building. There is only one hotel building separating the Wellington from the boardwalk and beach. It took us less than 2 minutes to walk from our room to the ocean, but being set back meant it was quieter at night (except for the seagulls - they never sleep!). We loved being in walking distance in the middle of everything.
We typically stay in suites when traveling as a family (husband, wife, 2 teenage kids) so this was definitely a change for us, but worked great for me and my daughter traveling together for a gorls trip. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable but not luxury stay at a very reasonable price. I booked through Expedia and paid around $160 a night.

This is definitely an older building with lots of stairs (and no elevator) but it was very clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. Free parking on site was very convenient. A few steps out the door and you are on the boardwalk and the beach. The value here is the location and the staff, perfect if you're looking to spend your time at the beach and not in the hotel.

Worst experience my husband and I ever had!!! Would NEVER recommend this as a place to stay. My husband and I came to OC to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary for just a few days. The doors on the rooms are not secure so I put a chair up against our door for extra security. Thank God I did, because at 12:58 am on Jule 17th we were fast asleep and someone tried to come in our door. Woke us up out of dead sleep. We thought someone had the wrong room or someone was drunk/high trying to get in. Once we got our wits about us we called the lobby and the man there apologized, as he was the one at our door. He used the master key to try to get in. No knock on the door he just tried to come in and then raced down the wooded steps. NOT a secure place to stay if the employees try to break into your room while you are asleep. Tried to reach management but are getting no one to talk to about this event. We packed up that night and found a more secure place to stay for the remaining of stay. The next day we were still traumatized and wondered what would have happened if we did not put the chair against the door? I hope they increase their security and STOP this for any future customers.
