I went shopping today (which I rarely do mid day on a Sunday) but I was so pleasantly surprised at how efficient the staff were, especially the folks in the deli department. They had a lot of people to serve but they were quick, efficient and friendly. Even the cashier (I wish I could remember her name but I can't unfortunately) was fast and helpful. I couldn't believe at how quickly I was able to get in and out. I may not avoid shopping on Sundays anymore after all! Also the produce was really fresh and I must have come after a restock because they had everything I was looking for.

Raynna was super friendly and helpful. She checked out customers respectfully and she was so nice. She greeted her customers with a smile on her face, and she offered to helped them bag their groceries. She helped me find the particular item that I was looking for when no one else could find it. Very grateful Rayanna was there to help last weekend!

Not the Giant of yesteryear. Items often out of stock, produce not fresh. Nice cashiers but customer service at the front of the store often has attitude. When bakery items are close to the sell by date, they remove the sell by sticker and replace it with another sticker with a date further in the future.Update: If you have "rigorous standards . . ." then why do your employees change the sell by dates on products?

This Giant usually has good sales. It's also very organized, clean, and well lit. They have lots of self-checkout stations. The scale is pretty sensitive though. If you need help, sometimes it takes a while for the staff to get to you, because it's usually a bit busy.

Yaminah, one of the store cashiers is excellent. She is very friendly, sweet, and hard working. She always brightens up my day because she is such a positive person. Whenever I shop, I make sure to go to Yaminah. ?

My consumer rights have been violated on several occasions by the manager Tom at the Olney giant. I don't know what his real problem is with me, but I shop at this store and I have to go get my food from elsewhere and now prefer to because of the way this man has judged me because I am not in the upper class of the area. I have been told to get out and stay out of the store when I have been shopping here. You have a public relations complaint from this former giant employee and customer. I expect something to get done about this. I have done nothing to be told that I am not allowed in this store. I HAVE DONE NOTHING to warrant this treatment.

Friendly staff, product is a bit on the pricy side, compared to what I'm used to in Iowa. Roasts are 3-4x the cost!!

Had a very disturbing experience at this Giant when a woman started staring at me as soon as I walked in. She was standing just inside the front, waiting for her friend, I guess, because I have no idea why she was just standing there. I could feel her staring but didn't look in her direction until her body physically shifted to keep staring at me as I tried to go about doing my shopping. The items I wanted to look and perhaps buy were towards the front where she still was and she was still staring me down so I confronted her and asked "is there a reason you're staring at me?" She responds by saying "I can look where I want" thus admitting she was staring at me. Then the friend I assume she was waiting for appears, so she precedes to tell her whatever nonsense because I didn't catch everything they said since I really didn't want to engage but I'm not going to just ignore the fact they are clearly trying to start something from their behavior. So i went to get the manager because I think there were trying to start trouble in general, and not just with me. I guess this is how they get their kicks on a Friday night. There have been blatant thefts at pretty much every Giant in Montgomery County, or maybe other grocery stores, but I've mostly heard of it being at Giant and actually witnessed one. People fill up their carts with laundry detergent mostly and just walk out of the store. This woman's behavior exhibited signs of casing me to try to steal something from me or at the least just harass me. 70% of communication is nonverbal so staring someone down is threatening and not just innocent curiosity. A person is clearly trying to make someone uncomfortable when they follow you with their eyes as though you're a target at the end of a rifle scope so I'm not going to just pretend I'm not aware. I got the manager to at least shut it down because I knew she and her friend would deny it and act like I did something wrong and the woman or teenager, I don't know which, called me a Karen. She's the one trying to provoke something and she's calling me this. Giant needs to start hiring security guards or step up their security somehow because it's becoming a free for all for this type of behavior at there stores versus other grocery stores.

Overall, they have the best prices and sales of the three remaining grocery stores in Olney. The service is very friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, and they still have a lot of long-serving employees like George, Cheryl, Rubina, Dottie, Andrea, Stephen, and a few more. That's getting rarer to find in today's world, and speaks very well of the place. The checkout situation is way better than Safeway and Harris Teeter, in terms of speed and ease. If you're in a hurry don't waste time at the other two stores. The only real downside to the Olney Giant is the parking lot. I've seen so many near-accidents and the spaces and the lanes really feel too narrow. Be sure to hold on to your cart so it doesn't go downhill, and be careful of all the traffic and pedestrians going by.

Okay store. Out of items I wanted. Clean and organized, not friendly. Olney, MD isn't my favorite place to shop. Ever. Just happened to be in the neighborhood. Giant generally is a great store.

Carry out service needs training in customer service skills. After standing there trying to get the employee’s attention (while she is on her cell phone) she finally acknowledged me with a very confrontational attitude. I said please and thank you a couple of times so I’m not sure why when she handed me the food, she yelled sarcastically “you’re welcome!”I left the food right there. I refused to get treated rudely where I spend tons of money at. Tried to speak to someone in customer service about this unpleasant service and but no luck, no one available there either.

Ran in to get milk and bread and had no issues. Went to self check out and it went smoothly. The lady who worked there was friendly.
