I had a great experience getting my wedding dress from House of JonLei Atelier! I was looking for a specific designer and they were the only place in the area that carried one of the dress styles that I wanted to try on — and it was the one! Working with GiGi made the process of ordering the dress, alterations, etc. a breeze. She was like a fairy godmother! Felt like family :)

Niece had no idea what she wanted just knew what color. 30 minutes into the visit we had a smile and the perfect dress. GiGi was able to match the color perfectly and provided insight for a curvy teen. The service was amazing and we walked away with a beautiful gown and accessories.

I would absolutely not recommend. Sigh, where do I start…1. Ordered a bridesmaid dress in January for a wedding in August of 2023. The bridal party was required to send in measurements and the style of dress of their choice. I completed the measurement form, provided my credit card information to pay the deposit and unless there was a miscommunication, I thought the dress would be ordered according to the measurements I provided – it wasn’t.2. The bridal shop never relayed the message to the purchaser the date that the dresses would be available and when the final payment was due. I received notification from another person in the bridal party in late May 2023 that the final payment needed to be paid in order for the dresses to be shipped. I contacted the bridal shop to make the payment and get an update on when I would receive the dress. I was informed that the final payment for the dress was to ship the dress to the bridal shop, not my home. This information should have been shared at the time the dress was ordered, as I live over three hours away from the bridal shop. I then inquired about where the dresses were made and was told oversees, but not an exact location. When trying to get an exact location Gigi informed me that it was made in either India or Japan.3. Fast-forward to July 2023, the dress arrived at the bridal shop and was able to be shipped to my home for an additional fee. I think that it is absolutely ridiculous that a $400 bridesmaid dress did not include shipping. I opted to pick up my dress from another member of the bridal party as I made up my mind that this bridal shop wouldn’t get another dollar from me.4. Finally, I received my dress and was instantly disappointed at the size and quality of the dress. It was entirely too big, and poorly made. I took it to my local tailor for alterations, and even she was confused with the quality of the dress, and size. The dress was supposed to have a split, but due to the size ordered it did not, and would have needed to be taken apart to cut the split in it to look like the pictures. Aside from that, it had way too much material on the lower half of the dress which required it to be take in on both sides plus the back in order for the dress to look like it had a shape. My local tailor said the dress was folded over me like a blanket. Aside from the size, the dress was unlined, and even just trying it on sweat marks were showing through the back of the dress as the tailor was pinning it for alterations. I am highly disappointed. My tailor is a miracle worker and made the alterations, however it costs me an additional $100 to do so.I have been in three other weddings within the past year, and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had with a bridesmaid dress. The quality and customer service did not meet my expectations considering the cost of the dress. David’s bridal and other online vendors have better communication and customer service skills than this.

A few weeks ago, I was away for a university function that was a black tie affair, and I realized I had forgotten my studs for my dress shirt at home. Serendipitously, the House of JonLei was within walking distance from my hotel. I called ahead, and when I arrived, everything was ready for me. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Thanks for everything!

RUN! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY OR MONEY ON THIS PLACE! Wedding planning is stressful enough but to have a BRIDAL SHOP lie, manipulate, price gouge and gaslight is enough to lose your sh*t! My girls ordered their dresses MONTHS in advanced, and they didn't arrive to their shop until 1 week before my wedding. I had 2 out of town maids that Gigi was well aware of AND knew they needed their dresses in case of any alterations due to their SHADY a** ordering! I called several times, and it was like they were screening my calls because they NEVER picked up. I sent multiple email to them over the months and Gigi just LIED & LIED & LIED & LIED! She told me they were having trouble with the packages being stolen by Fedex, the package was stuck in the Midwest and had been having issues with Jessica Angel's shipping and then the dresses would be there at least 2 weeks before the wedding WTF! Of course, I'm panicking and trying to find other options, which is when I realized that for these same Jessica Angel dresses at other shops, they were hundreds of dollars cheaper simply because they weren't charging unnecessary fees. We wanted to cancel and get a refund but of course these low-down scammers don't give refunds. The girls kept asking for their invoices and Gigi LIED AGAIN and said she mailed them to each girl and then it was no I emailed it to them - to this day they haven't received an invoice and I truly believe it's because of all the BULLSH*T fees they added. Charging $75 for each dress to be shipped from California just for it to be grossly late (9/16 dresses arrived 9/24 wedding day) Charged 2 of the girls a fee for length and only 1 girl got it Charge another girl a fee for being plus sized - Gigi order her a 6x which was literally a fu*king curtain on her when based on the sizing chart she should've gotten a 3x. I feel they order the dresses too big so you can get alterations done by them but HE!! NO, we'll go elsewhere. I wouldn't trust them with a dogs clothes let alone human clothes. I could go on and on about the how horrendous our experience was here but idk if there is enough space for it. Just do yourself a favor and reconsider. For Jessica Angel dresses try out the shops in Gaithersburg, Germantown or Towson, same dresses just without the ridiculous fees.

Where do I start?… first-I extend grace as it must not be easy dealing with parties where members are out of state.. that’s all I extend grace for because if you can’t handle it-don’t offer it as a service.As a member of a bridal party where the date was 12/30-we ordered WELL in advance of 6months. Trusting sending in measurements, CC information, and other identifying info. It took several calls to be sure that a: my information was revived and correct for proper ordering. Gigi assured me it was. Now-I also understand bridal/bridesmaids dresses are cut a little differently and can run small. However, in NO WAY or form am i a size 18. NONE. No shade to my curvy girls. She ordered every ones dress in our party far bigger than they actually are. Funny-I’m in another wedding where the dresses are the same designer and my ordered size is 6sizes smaller. Which resulted in basically having new dresses made with alterations. This establishments communication skills are lacking. They do not answer the phone, nor return messages. We had to have members of our party GO to the store to get answers. None of us got our alterations done there because-they don’t know what they’re doing.SHE LOST OR DID NOT ORDER OUR BRIDES DRESS!!!!!!!!!!! You read that right. LOST THE BRIDES DRESS resulting in our bride scrambling 1month before her wedding to find another. She is now berating our bride after being paid in full refusing a refund for her mistakes. She gave her the run around saying it was being delivered different dates but it’s January and still isn’t here.They need a crash course in business management and customer service. This isn’t an establishment that should be handling delicate times in someone’s life. Stay away.

Poor communication over priced and come up with excuses each time to check a status update. I was part of a small bridal party and was informed that the dresses would take 6 months to come in. Unfortunately the dresses came in 2 weeks before the wedding and of course the dress was too large and needed major alterations. Costing even more to have a nice fit. I would not recommend anyone to go here for a bridesmaid gown! Also I never received invoice of purchase after asking several times.

I 100% recommend setting an appointment for any bride! Gigi was the best! She listened to my style and made excellent recommendations. She made the entire process fun and exciting, and I felt like a princess the entire time. I never felt pressured to make a decision- it was always about my happiness and finding the best dress for me.

I ordered a bridesmaids dress from here. It was an A-line chiffon dress that I measured larger in the hips than the bust. I asked to keep the dress the smaller size of the bust but the store clerks were adamant about ordering the larger size and that it would only cost $50 for tailoring if it needed to be adjusted. Welp, of course they had to tighten the bust area by one size and charged me $250 to do it - when the cost of the dress was just slightly more than that. When I asked about the discrepancy, the store clerk said that the $50 fee was only for pinning the dress by the tailor. Of course they only told me this AFTER the dress was pinned. Makes no sense. Very, very disappointed. Spent way too much time and money coming to this shop. Do not recommend in the slightest.

I was searching for boutiques all over the DMV for a prom dress and I found them and had a great experience. I will be recommending this location for any evening wear, bridesmaids, and prom dresses. The owner, Ms. Gigi, was so kind and involved in helping find a prom dress that would make me feel confident and accentuate my body. I loved her dress selection and was able to find a dress the same day. I will be going back in the future!

BEWARE! They have HORRIBLE customer service!! Not ideal for weddings and proms if you want to guarantee you will have the dress you want in time!!! They do not allow refunds!! Us Bridesmaids decided to get our dresses here. They did not measure everyone correctly first off. We ordered the dresses months in advance. Some paid for their dresses in full. During those months she was not responsive, she didn't call the bride back for months. Other people had to call the shop for her to answer. The day our dresses were supposed to be there for our dress fitting (with people coming from out of town), they were not there yet and she didn't communicate that to anybody. The bride's grandmother had to call her that week and she finally answered. Even though the bride had just called right before that and left a message and the shop told her she was unavailable.Finally, the one time she called the bride back, she told the bride that the dresses would not be delivered until a week before the wedding, and that was not guaranteed. So, we had to come up with a plan B. They offered her some dresses from their warehouse which was unacceptable and nothing like the original dress. We ended up getting dresses off the rack at David's Bridal, which matched the color and original style (which had excellent customer service and was very helpful!).When the bride asked for a refund for those dresses (when did still did not have them), the owner stated that we signed agreements that did not allow for refunds. Only two bridesmaids has signed agreements. The other 4 bridesmaids (including myself) had never seen or signed such agreement. She still refused to give a refund for our dresses. DO NOT SHOP HERE! Save your money and patience. :)
