Is customer service a thing of the past? Corporate really needs to evaluate who they hire. This location is horribly managed, least secure , and has aging produce. The staff acts like it's too much to do their jobs. The store is always understaffed and a employee had a nerve to tell me they are going to perform a service that I willing to pay for. There are never any carts at the door and always have a person(s) loitering in front of it. PG's implementation of the bag policy has only made things worse. Check out lines are longer and people are frustrated. The grocery shopping experience shouldn't be like this. Bring back customer service.

Poor Experience. Not enough carts and carriers. Also, there's no problem purchasing bags, except there being no non-disposable bags available for sell.

Visited Oxon hill and Kingstowne stores over Christmas weekend. The ladies restroom in Oxon hill needs renovation and regular cleaning. Why shouldn’t it looks as good as Kingstowne (pics attached)? Pls respond managers, I’d like to know why.

I've often go to the Florist section at Rivertown location many times.Samantha is an awesome employee. She's always polite and willing to assist with great ideas for arrangements with flowers and balloons. I'm always satisfied with the beautiful results. I've referred many friends and family members. Great customer service Samatha!!

Terrible area, no shopping carts or baskets, and terrible customer service. I'll go into more details below.1) The area is terrible. There's always someone begging for money outside of the store. People who are driving never pay attention to anyone crossing the street or who are just walking to their cars. Plus it's filthy compared to any other store in that area or a Safeway in a different area. Also to add there's only 1 door that you enter and exit. 2 people with carts can barely squeeze by each other and this isn't including the people walking in or out without carts.2) There's NEVER any shopping carts or baskets unless you come the 1st hour of them opening. Even then there's like 3 carts and 1 basket. And you'll be lucky to have one that's not dirty or one that doesn't have anything wrong with it. You can even see that the management and workers don't care about these problem.3) Terrible customer service. The employees are usually on their phone doing nothing and don't even try to assist you with anything even if you ask. They always have an annoyed look on their face, not just with me but with a lot of other people too. There's usually 1 or 2 cashiers even when the store is very busy. Those 2 need a raise because they actually work hard and they're always smiling even though the other staff members are doing NOTHING WHILE LOOKING IRRITATED OR PLAYING ON THEIR PHONE.You're most likely going to self checkout since you wouldn't want to wait in a long line but their self checkout is very unorganized and there's usually a problem with the machines. Also there's 6 self checkout machines, 2 usually have issues and the line for self checkout is also usually long unless you go very early. Most ppl have full carts there because nobody wants to open up another cashier line since most employees are lazy.Only good thing about this store in this area is that they have fairly decent deals. Not the best but not the worst. If you're looking for something you most likely will find it.Overall I don't recommend this Safeway in this area. You're better off with other ones in different areas or trying a different store. If it's very close to you and you don't have a car then I wouldn't blame you for going but there's a Target next to it, it's a 2 minute walk and you can find most of what you're looking for.

The lack of customer service provided at this location is bare minimum at best. The amount of disrespect that comes from the “front desk” staff is disgusting. Evan is so very aggressive and does not need to be at this front desk. The way she made myself and a handful of the customers feel while interacting with her in this store is sickening. Safeway needs to staff with the intention of the customer because this is not it.

Andrea (the lady at the self-checkout) brought her best ghetto attitude to work tonight. She was just rude for no reason. If you hate your job, just quit and find something you like.

I gave this place a three star review a few years ago. It has much improved since then. My most recent visit was very pleasant. Surprised to see high standards for presentation and selection. Meat and fresh vegetable sections were really nice!

Just this evening, I sent my daughter in to purchase 8 pc. fried chicken from the deli. Chicken was old, hard, and tasted like it had been fried in old, overused grease. Definitely won't be going back there. Don't waste your money!

2 cashiers linesOther staff 3 standing by self serve all on phonesdoing nothing including manager.Lines very long. Wait time 30-50min. Did not helpCashier bag . JustPlayed games orwhatever on phones leaning onempty carts & talking 2 each otherEven ask cashierwho is working 2 stop & call someone on intercom while other workers continue on phones. People inline looking at them.Looks bad.Same way Fri.7/7&7/18.
