Avenel Local Park is a fantastic family-friendly destination with safe, clean surroundings. It features a walking trail popular for dog walks and offers picnic areas with tables and plenty of flat spaces. The playground is designed for younger kids, ensuring fun for families. There are nice soccer fields and lots of outhouses available, although finding the right field can be tricky. The park is tranquil in the mornings and lively on weekends, making it a great spot for play or relaxation. An ice cream truck is often present, adding to the park's charm.
We use the fields for gaelic practice, great location with excellent parking availabilty.

We love going here for the trail around the park. Watched my grandson play soccer. Nice fields. Lots of outhouses available, and parking.Do wish it was easier to find the right field!
