5852 Washington Blvd, Arlington“This store is a breath of fresh air, a lovely respite from a world flooded with cheap, artificial, one-time-use products. Trade Roots is curated with thoughtful gifts, clothes, home decor, jewelry, and knick knacks. I walked in recently and immediately saw the perfect gifts for some friends. Everything here is so beautiful and unique. It's not one of those boutiques where everything is just resold from Amazon with a green washed label. The Trade Roots website explains why the fair trade, sustainable mission is important to the store. The food and drinks are delicious here, too! There is some seating inside, as well as tables outside that face the main drag in Westover. Come for a chai and some housewares, leave feeling happy.”
“I am so sad that Ann Sandra is relocating. I have always enjoyed shopping there for holiday gifts, baby gifts, and splurges for myself. Good luck and best wishes to Fred and the entire staff in your new endeavor. You will be missed!”
“This is a great shop, I live out of states and I keep buying my sister and sister in law gifts here. The staff is super responsive and I have even been called by them to check if it was a gift. Not sure how I found them, but glad I did!”
“it's amazing how many new items you'll discover on each visit. I've found rare bookends, MOVA Globes, vases, frames..you name it. On a recent visit, Bonnie, Frances and Lauren each helped me with different item selections, and everyone works together (+ free gift wrapping). Best thing about going here is you'll always find something, unexpectedly, that feels like it was put there just for you. Once you've found this place, your only regret will be not having found it sooner. Great experience!”
“I think my 6 year old said it best, "wow! This is like an art museum! Oh every room gets better!" Urban farmhouse is a treasure. I come here (and upstairs to Covet) any time I want to find a unique and thoughtful gift. I adore the urban farmhouse vibe, I think I've gotten everything from greeting cards to unique vases to guacamole dishes to bottle openers to tea mugs. I'm delighted every time by the curated selection and friendly service. Shop local and this lovely spot!!”
“I love this shop, partly for nostalgic reasons, as I have been going there since a child. Nicely curated selection of gifts, cards, candles, soaps, beautiful napkins and wrapping… If you are a Portmeiron fan like my mum, you will find your fill here. Prices are reasonable and staff is kind.”
“Meran is super helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for showing me & my friend around the store and giving helpful insight to our questions. My Masonic Angel says Thank you too.”
“I bought a gift for my mom. It’s a stork on a mug. Nicely done and well made. The associate put it in a box and wrapped it with a pretty ribbon and tied a bow on it. I am so happy with the gift. The price is reasonable, and the gift is valuable. I would compare back.”
“Love this shop on Kensington’s antique row. It’s full of fun gifts and lots of local/seasonal finds. Perfect for picking up a hosting gift or housewarming and fun to browse.”
“Absolutely fabulous shop. Beautiful and unique gifts for family, friends, or just yourself. Delightful owner and employees that extremely helpful with wonderful ideas. A MUST SEE.”
“Enjoyed my visit to the charming Pear Tree Cottage. The owner is such an enthusiastic and engaging woman. I've driven past the store for many years and finally made the time to visit after seeing such a delightful holiday decorated storefront. Highly recommend this store.”
“The staff and owner of this sweet shop went ABOVE AND BEYOND to embroider something last minute for Christmas. The staff and owner are lovely. They make their own candles (not a scented candle person, usually too stinky) but theirs are perfectly balanced and natural - and are made by women who are in need (I bought two). Lovely linens, robes, jewelry, etc. I will be recommending this sweet shop to all my friends.”
“This is a wonderful little store. I've been shopping here for 15+ years, mostly to buy bird feeding supplies, but also books, puzzles, cards, etc. They have the best selection of products for birds, plus a wide variety of nature-related gifts and other merchandise. They pack a lot into a small space. The staff is always friendly and helpful, ready to offer good advice and to carry my bags of seed to my car, and I've often swapped bird sightings with the owners. I appreciated how they found ways to stay open safely during the pandemic, with clearly stated policies, pre-ordering, and contact-free pickups.”

“This store is a gem for picking up special gifts or when I need a little pick me up for myself. It has the feel of a secret little organic gallery of beautiful treasures. I had passed it for many years not knowing what was inside. Both beautiful plants and pots but also an ever changing selection of jewelry, candles, cards, and other lovely surprises like decorative paper birds. The previous owners were super amazing so I do miss them but the current owner who is always there has a gentle kind spirit as well.”

6501 29th St N, Arlington“I have gone there several times for embroidery, and they have always been very friendly from the time I call until I pick up my quality embroidered item. The owner, Johanna, and her staff are always extra sweet and fun. They really are the best. They have a super cute shop and they ALWAYS (and I do mean always), finish my items quicker than expected.”

1488 D, Rockville Pike, Rockville“The nicest owners. Lovely people. Very unique products. Been looking for a rice cooker that Amazon doesn’t even have but Dorsa had a large supply. Been coming here for 15 years.”
“I had a wonderful experience with the owner Leslie, and found her selection of Judaica to be excellent and quite gorgeous. As someone not halachically Jewish (I’m Patrilineal and wasn’t raised as a Jew), she was very reaffirming about my choice to purchase a Magen David. Stuff like that probably shouldn’t filter through in a review, but she made me feel welcome in my Judaism and her thoughtful and kind personality shone through. If you’re Jewish and want to support a locally owned business with fair prices, that deals in Judaica and not Messianic b.s., then this is your store.Chag Shavuot Sameach, and thank you again Leslie for your decency.”
“They delivered a fruit & flower bouquet on Mother's Day, which has got to be one of the busiest days of the year for them. They communicated well & addressed my concerns promptly. As someone who lives across the country, I appreciate having a unique gift delivered to my parents with good quality & customer service. Definitely recommend and will continue using.”
“I have been a long time shopper at A Mano and it’s fabulous! The staff is wonderful and the monogramming Queen Stacey is absolutely incredible! She is very creative and has helped design personal and thoughtful things to give as gifts. I can’t recommend this store enough. The gift wrapping is a added bonus.”
“This was my first time coming to the Edible Arrangements in Olney and had nothing but a great experience. The staff were very polite and helpful. I wanted to get something for my parents and they showed me the vast options they could make with fruits and chocolate. I was in and out in less then 10 minutes. Will definitely come back soon!”
“When you've just gotten home after a 70+ hour travel experience, with children in tow, and you are exhausted, and a loved one has this delivered to your doorstep, and even though you aren't there at that moment the delivery guy knows this is special so asks the neighbor and your loved one if it's ok to give to the neighbor and she's ok to receive it, and she does, and you get home and have this waiting for you... along with a box of chocolate covered fruit? Well. It's a win. It's like a little bit of love in a box. A hug in chocolate covered fruit form. Thank you Edible Arrangements, you went above and beyond to make sure we got our delivery, and it was perfect.”
“Very fun shop with nicknacks, antiques, decorations and fun gifts.Lots of fun even just to explore and look around. If you are ever stuck wondering what gift to give someone, visit this shop and you will probably find at least 1 or 2 unique gift ideas.Employees are friendly and helpful.Tons of parking and free parking.”
