I stop in daily or at least 4 times a week to get what ever meat or seafood I need to use for dinner. There fresh rock fish has been really good the past few times I have had it they had farm raised but the fish is back in season. I also like their huge selection of liquor and wines.

two weeks ago I ordered a corned ham from Nicks of Calvert and requested that it NOT be deboned. when I got there this morning, they found my order and it HAD been deboned, which makes it floppy and hard to stuff, plus less flavor with the bone missing! the manager told me they didn't have any more to replace it with and offered to tie it to hold it together, which I did not want. so at this late date, I purchased the ham. my question...was I charged for the original weight of the ham before deboning? and I'm paying the price in more ways than one! this is the second issue I've had over the years with Nick's stores dealing with corned hams. don't think I'm willing to try for a third strike!! sorry Nick!! Shortly after posting this, Joe called from Nick's of Calvert and apologized. He said they have a shipment coming in early tomorrow and I could come pick up the correct half ham that I originally ordered. That was very fast service and I appreciate the courtesy. I'll pick up the new one in the morning. Thank you Joe!

To be clear, I don't ship here for groceries, this is a strict review of the deli. If you go here for lunch, prepare to wait a little, but let me tell you, it's worth it. Their lunch meat subs are like 4.99 or something crazy and are made fresh and customized. Their menu options are unique and different from the plain old one meat and cheese sub and for the price, you can't beat it. My husband always gets the steak and cheese which is a little more expensive (9.99 I think), but he loves it. They make everything to order sandwhich-wise, which is why there is a bit of a wait, but worth it for a cheap and fresh lunch. We have been meaning to try out the premade salads, as they always look great, and the cannolis are to die for. Overall, we keep coming back again and again.

Loved the hay and pumpkin decorations outside and inside the store. Their deli is astonishingly good and their meat is fresh and excellent for a terrific meal you cook or barbeque. The rest of the store is clean and well organized. The fresh veggies and dairy are kept up. Their cookies are the bomb.

?????### Nick's of Calvert's $5 Sandwiches: A Symphony of Flavors Worthy of an EncoreMy family and I have a handful of dining spots that we consider our "go-tos," and Nick's of Calvert has been on that list for years. We've witnessed the seasons change, the faces come and go, but one thing that's remained constant is the exceptional quality of their $5 sandwiches.#### An Overture of Choices ?Nick's offers a variety of sandwiches, which is surprising given the price point. The assortment ranges from classic deli selections to more adventurous options. But, it doesn't matter what you pick; the $5 price tag always strikes the right chord.#### Perfect Harmony of Ingredients ?The bread, often a make-or-break factor in a sandwich, is consistently fresh and serves as an excellent stage for the flavors to perform. The meat is never too dry or too oily, hitting the Goldilocks zone of 'just right.' The toppings, be it the crunchy lettuce or the tangy pickles, add nuanced layers of texture and flavor.#### Little River Band & The Art of Sandwich Making ?You may be wondering why I'm mentioning the Little River Band in a sandwich review. It's because the experience of eating a Nick's of Calvert sandwich feels like listening to a classic Little River Band track—each bite (or note) stands strong on its own but creates something magical when combined. For instance, as you reach the turkey and avocado crescendo, you might recall the Little River Band's hit "Reminiscing," where every instrument contributes to a timeless ensemble, just like each ingredient in these sandwiches.#### A Note on Add-Ons ?Even if you wanted to add cheese or an extra layer of condiments, the staff are accommodating and ensure your sandwich hits all the right notes. The beauty is in the details, just like the intricate harmonies of Little River Band's songs, where each member contributes to the whole without overshadowing the other parts.#### The Perfect Encore: The Price ?Lastly, I can't conclude without talking about the price again—a mere $5. The deal is so good it's like hearing "Cool Change" play at the end of a Little River Band concert; a perfect, satisfying way to end an already phenomenal experience. The value you get for your money is beyond compare, making it an encore you'd want again and again.#### Final Thoughts ?Years of loyal patronage have only solidified my family's love for Nick's of Calvert. Each sandwich we've tasted has been a hit, akin to the timeless classics of the Little River Band—a perfectly harmonized blend of elements that make up something truly special. At $5, it's not just a sandwich; it's a standing ovation waiting to happen. So, if you find yourself reminiscing about quality sandwiches without breaking the bank, look no further than Nick's of Calvert. It's the Little River Band of sandwich joints: consistently excellent and eternally satisfying.Unmissable! ?????

Nick's is always the place to go for high quality meat, spices, seafood and other grocery items. You get a much higher quality product than from any grocery store in the area AND it is always cheaper per unit. I love this place and make a drive weekly from Piney Point area over an hour away. Always worth it.

I Love Nick's of Calvert County. This is my go to for my steaks and other meats. They even have spirits, wines, specialty beer and libations. I recently signed up on their email list, and Iam notified each week before a sale. I was able to snag a great deal on NY strip steaks and baby back ribs just in time for Labor Day!Great little specialty store!!!Next time I will try the IPA mix/ match six pack.

Best place to purchase beef and chicken. Always fresh and priced right. When grilling with family or friends, buy 1/2 or whole side of beef - definitely the best value.

This grocery store has a bit of everything as others but then has specialty items also. We were able to get soft crabs, crab meat, and a special beer that wasn't found anywhere else.

I love a great specialty supermarket! Nicks is it, they have a wide selection of Italian food items, a great deli with delicious and affordable sandwich selections. They also have a meat counter for fresh items like loose sausage, beef, etc. If you want liquor you can buy that at Nicks too. This one of my go to grocery stores in Calvert County.
