I have been a loyal customer of AAMCO Transmissions for over 25 years, regularly bringing in my driving school vehicles for transmission service and repairs. As a business owner, I have trusted them to handle the transmissions on multiple commercial vehicles clearly marked with company logos and registered under my driving school.
Recently, I brought in a 2017 Nissan Sentra and paid $5,310.08 for a rebuilt transmission (Invoice # I143161). Less than three months later, the vehicle began experiencing the same transmission issues. I returned the car to AAMCO and was initially told by Art that the issue would be covered under the warranty, which clearly states 1 year or 12,000 miles. I was asked to allow seven days for the repair.
However, six days later, I received a call saying the warranty claim was denied because the car is a commercial vehicle something that has always been true of the cars I’ve brought in, and which has never been an issue before. Every vehicle they’ve serviced for me over the years has been a commercial vehicle. This sudden change in stance, after taking my payment, is unacceptable.
To make matters worse, I have called repeatedly for over a month, leaving nine voicemails for Mr. Singh with no response. I even sent a formal letter requesting a copy of the warranty for all serviced vehicles. To date, I’ve received no reply, and my vehicle is still at their location.
Out of frustration and lack of accountability from their end, I have now filed a lawsuit through Maryland small claims court to recover my $5,000 (the maximum allowed). The case is on file with the Maryland Judiciary, and anyone interested can follow the proceedings. The AAMCO invoice numbers involved are I143161 and I142741.
It is incredibly disappointing to be treated this way after two and a half decades of loyal business. This experience has shaken my trust in AAMCO, and I can no longer recommend them to other commercial vehicle owners especially those who expect their warranties to be honored and their calls to be returned.

I left my suv with them on a Thursday to get a used transmission put in. (That was after the warranty people approved it, it was their before that. Anyway for the next 8 days, they kept telling me it would be fixed the next day!! Here it is Saturday the next week and it's still not fixed. The guy at the desk is a smart ass. He never knows when the boss will be in. I have been catching Ubers and Lyfts and getting rides from friends . I was approved for a rental the first week. But due to them keep lieing about the vehicle will be ready the next day, I never rented one. For a $7800 job, I feel as though the bs has been entirely too much. I would never use another Aamco, needless to say this was my first time. Def will be my last!!!! My trk is still not ready and I have yet to talk to the mgr👎🏽 Donna

Worst place i have ever patroned. My father was lied to ad swindled out of 7000 dollars. Then not even a few hours my alternator was messed up. and then charged over 800 for a repair, I believe they caused. I do not trust this company and I am sure all of the good reviews are not actual people.

AAMCO couldn't help with my car problem. I had to go back to my car dealer. My problem has been solved!

Realistically one of the worst car experiences I've had. I went there upon a referral from my normal shop and since my experience was so bad I've stopped going to my normal shop. While they do work with car warranty's their diagnostic skills are an absolute zero. I was even told that I didn't tell them what was wrong with the car (which I did I relayed the info to the gentleman at the front desk) so they can't properly diagnose the issue. Sir my check engine light was on and you claimed you drove it yourself. That should be enough for an experienced mechanic to figure out the issue. I was called to pick up my vehicle three times and each time I went to get it it would not start and they always had some crappy excuse. Finally on the 4th time I went to pick it up it started and drove but my check engine light came back on. I'm just going to head to the dealer. I'm never going to this establishment again. I'm afraid to even go there to fulfill a warranty issue with what they claim they did fix. Really use this place at your own risk.

Run from this business as fast as you can. It is a SCAM!!! The business practices are unlawful. They actually started working on my car without my permission; all I asked for was an estimate. Then I felt obligated to allow them to do the work. However, for everything they "fix" a new problem arises. I took my vehicle in for an estimate 9/19/22. It has been in and out of the shop with the original steering problem not fixed and with new problems. Now, 2/22/23, vehicle has more problems than when I first dropped it off 5 months ago. How did they make my vehicle worse not better? Now, it can't even pass inspection with all of the lights on the dash that are lit up. (No dash lights were on when I first let Aamco work on my car). This is an expensive headache that you can avoid. There is no customer service. No one has authority to take responsibility. How convenient. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!! I would give negative stars if it were an option.Services: Electrical

This location stole my car and lied about not having my car after I drop it of to be checked out and to have it serviced when I showed up I was told they don’t have my car and owner refuses to speak with me about my car. Be careful of this location they are liars and will take your car and money and don’t do no repairs.Service: Transmission
