In mid-October I took my 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe in for an oil change. It was recommended that I also have a coolant flush done. if you are ever instructed to do so, don't do it. The service required more than 1 1/2 hours than I was told. This was my initial problem and I voiced my dissatisfaction to the advisor and inquired why there was such an extensive delay given I had an appointment. I was told they had a problem getting rid of the air bubble(s). Well obviously they didn't do a good job because less than a month later my vehicle overheats and the heat also stops working. I learn the coolant was low (which should not happen less than a month after the coolant was completely filled) meaning there most likely is a leak. I then learn the leak is in the engine gasket. I now much have an extensive and very expensive service performed. My vehicle will be out of service for several weeks meaning I now have to rent a vehicle for transportation. Another added cost. I checked reliable sources and learned that a coolant flush is often the cause of this type of damage. I had a comparable problem with this dealer when they completed a recall requiring they apply an undercoat that resulted in my wiper fluid bottle being damaged. They refused to admit to their causing this damage. Will they admit to their causing this more recent problem? Doubt it. In the past I trusted this service center and always brought my vehicle to them for servicing over the years but lately the quality of service has gone down hill. Can't continue this relationship. Greatly disappointed and frustrated about a cost I should not have to take on.

I have been a Fitzgerald customer for two car purchases and service over the last six years, but I walked away from them today without getting service.
I have had 3 experiences this year with the service department where I show up on time for an appointment only to be told that it will take at least 24 hours. The last time when they set me up in an old rental car and after about half a day busy processing that, it turns out ready and in an hour. I don’t trust the service department customer service. The work they do is fine, And the company gives money to charities that I care about but I won’t be coming back. There’s a lack of transparency with the service customer service on timing where I just get the feeling that it depends who you get as to how accurate and clear the info provided is- I almost got the feeling today that there is some sort of motivation to push people to come back the next day
This could really be solved by transparently offering some sort of rough window of estimate before the customer shows up on site during the appointment scheduling process. I will be trying a service option closer to my house in the future.

I dropped off my 2024 Hyundai Kona at 1:00 on 11/10/2025 at Fitzgerald Hyundai Rockville. I called 4 times, texted 3 times trying to get an update. I told them I needed my car in the morning. None of my calls or texts were returned. I had to borrow a car the next day. I physically came into the service office the NEXT DAY. I spoke to the supervisor who apologized, but never gave me a status update. As of 7:00 pm, on 11/11/2025, I have yet to receive an update, 30 hours, 4 phone calls 3 texts and an in person visit later.

Receiving an oil consumption test through warranty which has me getting the run around. My first appt I dropped my car wasted $30 ubering back and for and they let my car sit the entire day no work done. I was then told bring it during the week because they are too busy on weekends but NOBODY mentioned this when scheduling my appt. My second visit They start my testing and I sat for 5 hrs then was offered a ride home because it would be an additional 3 hrs. I got dropped off and less than a hour later I am called to come pick up my car!!!! Then im told just pop in during the week after my 1000 miles to have my level checked no appt needed, so I come in after work at 1000 miles at 5:20 because they close at 7pm only to be told the diagnostic staff leaves at 5pm!!! Made an appt come in my levels are check then im told we have to keep your car overnight NEVER EXPLAINED THIS PART OF THE TEST, so I had to beg for a loaner car due to short notice. Ridiculous and nobody has responded to my complaint email requesting the service team manager.

Chris, the Hyundai service lane manager is thoughtful and fair. He is responsive to inquiries during the process and takes care of details that he agreed to during intake. As a service provider myself I understand the pressure of his job and the client perspective as well. He does a great job balancing it all!

This dealership will wash your car without your consent and put thousands of micro scratches in your clear coat from their dirty brushes. See attached pictures. Now my car needs professionally detailed and polished. Some of these scratches are deep, requiring a heavier polish and a thicker layer of my car’s clear coat to be removed. They offered to detail my car themselves, but I do not trust them anymore with my car. Ultimately, they refused to pay for a third party detailing service, something at a *minimum* I believe they should have done to own up their mistake (this is also despite my verbally being told in person that they would pay). I will be calling corporate Hyundai to report this unprofessionalism.
If you bring your vehicle to this dealership for service, I suggest you request they not wash your car and also document the quality of your paint afterwards. I will never bring my car here again, nor any other Fitzgerald location.

I brought my car in due to my engine light flashing, after I took it to another mechanic. They ran their own diagnostic and told me it was an oil change. Which was entirely incorrect not even 6 days later and the engine light started flashing again. Haven't been able to contact the person who worked on it and I've been calling for 3 days now. Right when they open. Terrible.
