đ° Goodwill Has Lost Sight of Its Mission đ°
Have you ever checked out the executive salaries at Goodwill Industries International? Before donating, consider these 2023 figuresâespecially as prices continue to rise in 2024 and beyond:
Jacqueline Hallberg, President & CEO: $820,541
Jeffrey Docalavich, Assistant Treasurer: $510,487
Basil Buchko, Assistant Secretary: $351,216
Brenda Sanders, Director: $120,696
Visit charitynavigator.com to see how Goodwill is performing today.
Despite eliminating discounts and reducing employee hours in 2025âclaiming "profits were down"âexecutive compensation remains untouched. Meanwhile, donated items are priced at outrageous levels, even higher than on eBay! This undermines the very spirit of charity.
Where are donations truly going? When Goodwill prioritizes high executive salaries and excessive pricing over its mission to help, I can't support them any longer. Itâs clear: theyâve lost sight of their mission.

Goodwill is such a joke. I honestly can't believe they are in business. The prices on things especially the online auctions is ridiculous. Shame on Goodwill. They are greedy, rude and don't care about the customer. Will someone with integrity please start a new business like Goodwill so they can put them out of business. All they do is line their pockets with money. All the homeless and people out there struggling to make ends meet and they just sit back and take our money. Once again, Goodwill is such a joke. By the way, they don't even deserve 1 star but I had to put it so my review would be posted.

Growing up it was always reinforced to me to give to others, and Goodwill was one of those charities that was respected in our community that gave back to underprivileged, provided educational and employment teaching opportunities, and gave back more than they received. Thus, the 2 stars- otherwise it would be 1 star. Unbeknownst to me, Goodwill is now a franchise opportunity. The Goodwill thrift shop in the town next to me- the owner is a multi-millionaire based on owning these stores. The prices in the thrift stores are outrageous and I am not sure how people down on their luck afford to buy badly needed clothing items for their family. It saddens me that Goodwill has become focused on profit versus giving back to the community.

GREEDWILL! This is the GREEDIEST CORPORATION OUT THERE! No one knows how to take advantage of the poor quite like goodwill! They get everything for FREE and mark it up so no one disadvantaged can afford it anymore and then have the audacity to ask you to round up when youâre checking out. People can barely afford clothes for job interviews all thanks to âgoodâ will. Change your name to GREEDwill

Stop charging so much for items youâre getting for free. I am not supporting good will any longer. There are many other thrift stores that arenât looking to rip people off.

STOP CHARGING MORE THAN THE BRANDNEW PRICE FOR YOUR ITEMS! You can literally get items cheaper at the store they were from, than you can from your âthriftâ store. Did yaâll forget that these items are DONATED to you for FREE?? You are not a vintage specialty resale shop, nor a consignment shop paying people for the items they give. Go back to your old model, or you wonât have many customers left. You leave the original store sticker price on them, or the old yard sale sticker on them, then put your own sticker on too that is MORE than the store/yard sale sticker. If it didnât sell at a yard sale for 50cents, what makes you think you can get $5 for it??

Fine Goodwill store. Nothing terribly remarkable. Employees seemed friendly, checkout was quick. Typical Goodwill prices.

I used to think I was donating my goods to be sold at a discount to people who couldn't afford them, not to be sold online for top dollar so you guys can get as much as you can and don't pass along the savings to your customers. I'm sure people would love to know that. Plus your outlet stores I'll run like a third rate garage sale the way you allow your managers and workers to talk to people

I am immensely grateful for the options and prices I found at Goodwill. Keep up the great work.
