We recently moved into a new home in Kensington (our 8th home across 4 states). Despite being experienced home buyers, outfitting a new home with furniture is still tough & stressful...especially in a new area. After visiting many furniture stores in the area, we decided to visit Hamilton's. We were looking for seating for our A/V room. Brad was our salesperson...super helpful, patient and no annoying salesmanship. After noticing some "fit and finish" issues with the couch soon after delivery, Hamiltons management (Alex, Ashley) couldn't have been more helpful. They are a local, family-owned company and their candor and demeanor were very supportive. They quickly worked on a solution and gave me a couple options. Since this was a stock item, they opened another sectional, confirmed it was up to "factory specifications" and delivered it the following day! I couldn't have asked for more. Important to note the delivery folks were all very professional and efficient. I will definitely be doing more business with them. Highly recommend! In today's world, it's hard to find great, old school companies/service.

Nancy at Hamiltons told me my furniture would be delivered within two to three weeks of purchase. But the Rockville store's interest in my purchase faded rapidly as soon as they had my money. When, after three weeks, I complained I didn't have the furniture, Nancy's colleague told me they have no responsibility for on time delivery. On the fifth week after my purchase, their delivery guy, Marcelo, called to tell me he couldn't live up to his promise to bring the furniture because it was raining. Raining?! When I questioned him about this preposterous excuse, he acknowledged that he had decided to make a different delivery. I had rearranged my schedule to receive the stuff, but that wasn't his concern. I see in the reviews that others have had similar problems. I can't believe this store gets any repeat business. -- Paul

After moving to a new apartment, I needed new living room furniture. I went to Hamiltons Sofa and Leather Gallery where saleswoman Nancy Kristensen spent more than 30 minutes helping me pick out fabric for an swivel chair to go with the sofa and love seat that I had picked out. In total, a great shopping experience. This is my new living room:

Alexander has been very helpful working with me to address the described situation. They have ordered a new mechanism and within a few months we anticipate the sleeper couch will be fixed and functional.

I had a terrible delivery experience and it was ridiculously difficult to correct. Between Hamilton and the delivery company, neither were very communicative. The customer service was horrible and the company is very defensive. Another recent reviewer had a negative experience with their delivery and the business owner's responsive is very similar in tone... not our fault, you're the problem!I am a Costco member and purchased my other leather sofa there for about half the price and extremely happy with the quality and no delivery issues.

I have purchased twice from this store. My first purchase is over 20 years old and still in Excellent condition.. The most recent purchase was two Pallister leather sofas. I researched this brand and found excellent comments. My experience with this brand is abysmal. In less than one year with only two people in home poor wear. Their high Resiliency foam, gets translated into large dents wherever you sit that has no reasonable timeframe to return to form. Buyer beware stay away from this brand. We were looking for a durable sofa for our family room , We got a poor quality piece. Leather is nice but underlying foam is not. I waiting for warranty repair but don't know how this will work. BOTTOM LINE: Don't buy Pallister. Hamilton is a reasonable store for other brands without going to Virginia.

Working with Nancy I ordered a sofa and matching chair for my living room. Ordered mid-May 2021. The company was Rowe. Nancy told me it would be 4-5 months due to Covid delays. She was spot on. Furniture arrived in October.I did read a review that a client believed that the price would include the removal of older pieces, but was charged $100 additional at the time of delivery. Please know that this is never to be assumed. Disposal arrangements should be discussed at the time of ordering. If it cannot be handled I will put in a plug for the organization DonationNation. For about the same price, your furniture if in satisfactory condition goes to a household in need. Their pick-up service is much better than Goodwill, Salvation Army and similar. When Hamilton contacted me for delivery of the new I was able on short notice (same day I contacted, not always doable) to arrange for the pick-up on the day before the new furniture would be delivery.I'm now considering replacing my casual room furniture and will go again to Hamilton. I believe Nancy or any of the sales reps will be glad to work with you!

My husband and I saw couches in a million furniture stores in DC and also LaZ Boy down the street from Hamiltons. We thought something was wrong with us because we hated all the couches. Until we came to Hamiltons. We asked Heidi for a sleeper sofa. She showed us what they had. We sat in one and instantly fell in love. Their Stressless recliners are also super comfortable. They adjust to each individual's angles and limb lengths when you sit down. I'm 5'2", so most recliners are too deep for me to have back support or my feet touch the ground. My 5'10" husband and I both found the medium Stressless perfect. In our opinion the Hamiltons difference is that their stock is for comfort and durability first, appearance second but it doesn't look bad at all, it just doesn't prioritize aesthetics over usability. Other furniture stores' couches look like they're for looking at more than for a family to sit in. Not so with Hamiltons. Heidi was patient with our clueless questions and helped us pick out a sofa and recliners we're very excited for.

Ordered a couch in May. Was told it would take four months. It actually took seven. Couch finally arrives today and delivery men strong arm me into giving them $100 to remove my old couch. Said it was not included in the delivery fee, though when I had asked sales person last spring they said it was. Called store. They say no, it is customary to pay to remove couch. They don't care about how long the couch took to arrive or about the attitude of their delivery people. I would not shop here again.

I had asked at time of purchase and was told delivery fee included removal. I called the store and was told that no, in fact, it is customary to pay for removal. The person on the phone could have cared less about how long we had to wait for the couch or about the behavior of their delivery people. I will not be giving them any more of my money.

We are very happy with our new sofas. The quality is outstanding and we got them within weeks of ordering them. Way better than other stores that are months out right now. Sales team was helpful and friendly and delivery team was great too.
