I had a good experience with the instructor. However, they are a disaster in billing. I can't even begin to explain the amount of postponed lessons... which is almost impossible to reschedule, I have on my account. They keep saying, "ohhhhh, you can have make-up sessions..." when, bc you're always booked at times convenient for students. " We have a 2:00 pm...." REALLY I'm in school! Meanwhile, they tell you that they can't stop the billing cycle. They can only push back every 2 weeks. I have gotten various numbers and sessions missing...just for them to say, "Sorry, your sessions have expired!"I'm out of all of june, july, and other dates... totaling 18 sessions. june and july are 8 weeks... but they calculated 3 missing sessions!Someone needs to be reported to the BBB and to have a major audit of their books! I should have read the reviews...

Very poor experience...I came to the Rockville location more than it's fair share of chances and kept coming back because they kept automatically charging me. Do I came for 3 months and still would get attitude from He tor if something on their end didn't go as planned. There are young kids working here like Hector who are rude and condescending to the customer and shouldn't be here. They are not even knowledgeable when their tutors go on vacation or are running late and it's been a few times I've wasted my time bringing my child here to be told sorry, you don't have a lesson today! I even-spoke with manager Ryan who confirmed we had 3 lessons left and come in for one of those lesson, and they took me out of their computer system and gave away our time to someone else. So we were sent home and now there is no availability for our requested day and time! Please please do not come here. The teachers are not qualified and spend half the lesson tuning your instrument and then we had 15 min of a lesson left. Hugely disappointed!!!!

This place was awesome, it was clean, had EXCELLENT customer service. Couldn’t find one thing wrong with this place. Hector one of the best employees here, definitely recommend.

Nice store and staff. I just wish they had a broader inventory.They have nice rental instruments for a reasonable price. It would be nice to have the option to renew the rental online or at the store, rather than having to send card information through mail.

I called Hector on the phone to see if they had Cello rentals. He was very nice over the phone and let me know he put one aside for me. I let him know that I will need help with fitting, as I have never played before. When I got there, there were two people working, and it was a little busy. After standing in line, the gentleman at the counter knew what I was there for right when I started talking, so I’m assuming this was Hector. Right after he let me know the rental price and I told him I thought it was a little expensive but still needed help being fitted, it seemed like he didn’t wanna help me anymore. He gave me a 3/4 size cello, told me to “see if it fits” and left me for another customer. I told him on the phone that I’ll need help being fitted, but I understood it was busy, so I thought he would be helping someone quickly and coming back to me. This was not the case. I sat there for a little, he did not return. In fact, he didn’t say another word to me. I stood back in line for about 15-20 mins before I put the cello down and left. This was awful service. It was the most frustrating and honestly hurtful experience. I will never be back. Also, in case corporate were to see - everyone else is charging $35 - $40/month for cello rentals. $76/month is a lot. I came here because no one else was open, and mind you, I drove from Cambridge, MD (a 2 hour drive). I may have paid it if the services were explained to me and your employees were more helpful.

I went to the Rockville, MD location today looking for the book "Sight Reading and Rhythm" (2A). The clerk who helped me was knowledgeable and efficient. He went directly to the correct rack and picked out the book. I was at the store a total of three minutes, which is amazing. I really don't like to waste time. Also, the price was much, much lower than the price I would have paid online. Thank you for your help.

We purchased a bell kit in September to be picked up at the local store. We show up and the manager gives me the item but I notice that it is a used loaner and not the brand new one. So I asked him and he says “oh I didn’t know you bought a new one— we only have loaners. We will reimburse you and you should buy it online from music and arts.” So we bought another one for $275. And then waited and waited and waited for the reimbursement for 4 months during which time the “pending” charge goes through and we get a bill in the mail with a late fee penalty. We go back to the store multiple times and are told it will be fixed. Eventually that manager quits and the saga continues with the new manager. We finally told the credit card company not to pay. And then Music and Arts starts calling me for the money!! Insanity.

Staff were friendly and provide personal consultation on my instrument questions. Great place to inquire about what to buy/order and find music items locally.

The selection is limited given the size of the store, but it stocks all the essentials—reeds, rosin, sticks, picks… you get the picture. The lesson quality is presumably variable, but I had a good experience here a few years ago. This is definitely not an intimidating store; it’s very beginner-friendly.
