Every day, I can expect to have two things: a cup of coffee and a call from OrangeTheory fitness. Through life's unpredictable circumstances, I am glad I have these consistencies in my life (sarcasm). Please be 100% certain that you want to join OrangeTheory before signing up for their free class. Or better yet, use a fake number. Maybe like a Pizza Hut, My Pillow customer service, or another OrangeTheory! Either way, OrangeTheory really needs to reconsider their marketing strategies because this experience has only pushed me to NEVER join an OrangeTheory fitness.

I joined OTF Rockville South in October 2021. My cardio endurance and muscle strength have greatly improved since then. I love that the workout template changes every day, and I really enjoy the signature workouts and monthly challenges. There is ample parking available at this location, which I greatly appreciate compared to other studios I’ve visited. All of the sales associates are wonderful and always willing to answer questions, especially Amanda and Chloe. My favorite coaches at this location (Sheina, Teri, and Sean) do a great job at explaining the templates, demoing exercises, pushing/motivating you through the workout, and supporting your fitness goals. If you’re on the fence about joining like I initially was, remember that YOU decide how intense your workout is, the coaches are simply there to guide and encourage you. In addition, there are multiple pricing options to accommodate essentially any budget.

Great workout and great people. I have been going to OTF Rockville South since October 2021. I have loved cardio for a long time, but struggled to do strength or weight training on my own. This place has been perfect for me, because it combines both. Never before have I done such consistent strength and weight training.I also really appreciate that I haven't heard any of the trainers or front desk staff promoting unhealthy eating habits and I believe this place is welcoming of fitness at any size. Gyms and wellness places can get toxic, so I love this place for supporting everyone.

While not my home studio, this place really stepped up when the Bethesda studio had a pipe burst, and since then I've been splitting my time between the two. This studio is conveniently located in Congressional Plaza in Rockville Pike, so not only is there a huge parking lot, but there's a Starbucks just a few steps away for a post-workout pick me up! The staff are super friendly, love amplifying their members with the Brag Boards and social media presence, and remember members from week to week. The coaches are enthusiastic, and the workouts are standard across all OTF studios, which is nice. They have a lot of convenient class times, and they're always my backup in case I can't get into my Bethesda studio classes before work. Also similar to other studios, all classes can be booked through their app, which is easy to use. One final thing - I super appreciate that they were able to lend me an extra armband when I forgot mine! If OTF is your thing, you'll love the culture of this studio.

I loved this OTF Studio! I typically attend otf class at the Bethesda studio, but decided to try this one out while Bethesda studio is under repair. The studio is in a strip mall along with a corepower yoga studio and pure barre. The studio was clean and staff were very friendly and welcoming for those of us visiting from Bethesda. Teri always teaches such a great class too!

** Do NOT join **06/21: Per the promotion, I joined as an Elite Member (8 classes per month) for $129.00/monthly, to be billed on the 21st of every month.06/23: Attended my first class at the OrangeTheory in Rockville.07/08: Attended my first class at the OrangeTheory in Park Potomac.09/04 & 10/03: OrangeTheory Charged my credit card on file for the $129.00/monthly membership. I never received correspondence from OrangeTheory as to why the billing date has changed.10/06: Attended my last class at the OrangeTheory in Rockville.10/07: Attended my last class at the OrangeTheory in Park Potomac.11/01: Emailed OrangeTheory, requesting to cancel my membership and requesting directions for the next steps. An OrangeTheory personnel responded and told me that I needed to FWD the email to their manager and that the manager would take care of it for me. I FWD the email over to the manager.11/04: OrangeTheory Charged my credit card on file for the $129.00/monthly membership. Contacted my credit card and informed them that I had sent an email to OrangeTheory, requesting the cancellation. Thought that they had billed me accidentally. My credit card company provided me with the credit back to my account.11/23: Received a phone call from OrangeTheory. The personnel stated that she was calling because she noticed that I haven’t taken a class for three (3) weeks, and she wanted to know if she could book a class for me. I informed her that I was at the airport, on my way out of the country, and that I was confused since I’d sent an email requesting to cancel my membership.11/27: Still out of the country, I received an email from Cassandra Lansing, the studio manager at the OrangeTheory in Rockville. She informed me that they did not have any records of my cancellation form and that if I was unable to provide the cancellation form, then they needed to chargeback to be paid. I informed her of my situation (I’m planning on splitting my time between the states and Europe and that I wouldn’t be able to utilize my membership). I never heard back from anyone after I'd FWD the email to the studio manager.11/30: Cassandra informed me that they needed a thirty (30) day notice and that a cancellation form needed to be signed and sent to their studio in Rockville. She reiterated that they where never aware of the cancellation and I needed to pay $129.00; otherwise, they will not provide the cancellation form for me to fill out and complete. If they don’t receive a cancellation form, then they will consider my account active and they will continue to bill me. I wanted the cancellation form first to review prior to remitting any payment. OrangeTheory refused to provide the forms unless I pay the $129.00 first.12/04: OrangeTheory charged my credit card on file for the $129.00/monthly membership. They changed their name from "OrangeTheory Rockville" to “OTF Rockville” in order to run the unauthorized charged. This was disputed.12/13: Received an email from OrangeTheory thanking me for my “recent in-studio charge.” The charge is in the amount of $139.00, to be charged on 01/04/23. I never authorized nor did I agree to this.12/14: Received a letter from Kinum informing me that they’re a debt collection company and that they’re trying to collect a debt for $129.00 owed to OrangeTheory. The letter was dated 12/05/2022.The interaction felt like they were trying to extort me for money first before they would release the form to me. Similar to other former members, I've filed a report against this OrangeTheory to the Consumer Protection Division, Federal Trade Commission, Maryland Attorney General, and Better Business Bureau.

I'm a regular at the Bethesda location, but occasionally take classes over in Rockville depending on who is teaching, classes filling, etc. This is a great studio and I'm shocked there are not reviews for it yet, since it has been around a while. It is located in a shopping center, so allocate extra time for parking if you go during peak times. The actual building it is in is unique, being a "fitness hub" with Pure Barre and Corepower within the same unit. Orangetheory is upstairs, with escalators and stairs available as options to reach it. The pictures I added are from the downstairs lobby. The studio has new equipment, plenty of lockers, and is tidy. The space is tighter than other studios I've been to. I'd personally like a bit more room at all of the stations. The shape of the room is a little odd, which makes me think this may have been repurposed space, and wasn't an orangetheory originally. If you go, give Sheina's class a try-she rocks!

Good classes but limited hours compared to other OTs, convenient location. They need better management to fix the water fountain fix the locker doors, and it’s a bit hot. Coaches are great!

Fraudddd!!! Stealing peoples money!! Beware of this location and the Olney (same management) Submitted a fraud report with the FTC and contacted the corporate office! The manager Shannon is horrible, lacks people skills and advises her employees to steal from clients. Stay away!!

This is one of the better Orangetheory studios. Love Coach Sheina. She cares. She is always engaged: correcting postures and encouraging us.

Christopher S. from Orangetheory Fitness Rockville South is amazing. He is personable, welcoming, and inspiring. He was my first introduction to the Rockville South location and was one of the main reasons I joined. In addition, I love what Orangetheory has to offer and I am very happy I found this workout. The facility is clean and the showers are great. Thank you!

I’m new to Orange Theory and I have nothing but great things to say about OTF and this studio. The coaches are great and have gotten to know me and my exercise goals. The workouts are varied and challenging and FUN! I love the analytics and the science behind OTF. It’s definitely an exercise routine I can stick with for long term health!

I don’t write reviews and I don’t workout…yet Orangetheory has inspired me to do both! My family, friends, co-workers, and cat are all tired of me talking about how amazing this place is – so that’s where you come in Dear Reader ? I happened to first hear about Orangetheory through a co-worker. When I started seeing announcements for this particular location’s grand opening, I was curious. Once I found out treads AND strength training were part of the workout, I knew I had to join – those are surprisingly the two forms of exercise I enjoy the most (if one can ‘enjoy’ exercising, lol). I was nervous about signing up and attending my first class, but the staff here is absolutely amazing and welcoming. The Studio Manager, Seth, is quick to introduce himself and to get to know the members. The SAs I’ve interacted with during my visits (mainly Christopher) greet us by name and check in with us after class to see how we’re feeling. The coaches are all equally amazing, in various ways. Coach Joie is patient and encouraging – I don’t know how many times she has had to show me the correct form for TRX exercises or planks, but she is great every time. Coach Teri is always encouraging throughout the session; her classes have a chill vibe and the time flies by. Coach Lucinda is upbeat and energetic. She must be a DJ in her spare time cause her playlists never disappoint; those BPMs are on point! Just when I think I’m going to drop my speed/incline to take a breather, the song changes and I’m fired up! The music selection really plays a huge part motivating the class, I love it. Head Coach Sheina is Head Coach for a reason: she’s been absolutely amazing. She always asks us to check in with ourselves, to see how we’re feeling during the workouts and to remember why we showed up. She’s encouraged me to dig deep. When I think I can’t do any better, I end up increasing my speed by .1-.2. It may not seem like a lot, but when I’ve convinced myself I’m going to die on the treads at an 8% - 10% incline, a little goes a long way.Don’t let the group workout deter you from joining; everyone is too busy at their own stations to notice if you’re near collapse at your own. I’m a power walker and probably will be for a while (lower back pain and random joint aches). At first I felt I wasn’t working as hard as my neighbors, but this workout is literally what you make it. The coaches will tell you what the exercise is and what you should be doing, but you can always modify it. Lift heavier, increase your incline/speed – it’s about how you feel. You might not be able to lift as heavy or run as fast as the day before, but that’s ok. Sometimes it’s just about showing up. I didn’t think I was ever going to like the rower. However, a couple of the workouts during Hell Week changed my perspective. One had me rowing for 14 minutes straight. Another workout included rowing the same distance four different ways for a total of 23 minutes. The rower is still not my favorite, however I now grudgingly respect it. I surprised myself by accomplishing something I thought I couldn’t do, and I’m better for it.I can’t recommend Orangetheory enough! This isn’t an intimidating gym at all. The members are friendly, the staff is awesome and the workouts are fun. Come drink the orange Kool-Aid and join us under the orange lights!
