MORE THAN 2 months waiting for the couch and they called saying my order was canceled and they wouldn’t be delivering it. I come to the store and they said they couldn’t do anything and they are not responsible for nothing after the purchase. Gave me a phone number to call and told me to call and figure out how to get my money back! DEFINITELY DESERVING TO BE CLOSING!

Be extremely careful with the financing here. I opened a Synchrony Bank credit account through Value City Furniture, and not a single person explained that the full balance had to be paid by a specific date to avoid interest. I paid on time every month, yet I was suddenly hit with over $835 in interest at 29.99% APR with absolutely no clear warning.
They didn’t send any letter, email, or notice before the promotion ended. They just added the interest without informing me. Honestly, this is very shameful and completely unfair.
If you check their online ratings, you’ll see they’re around 1.5 stars, which is extremely low,and now I understand why.
This whole experience feels misleading. If you’re considering opening credit here, demand every detail in writing. Otherwise, you may end up with a shocking and expensive surprise just like I did.

The sales people are very rude. My wife is active duty military and simply asked if they have a military discount (it’s also veteran’s day) and instead of a simple “no” or “we can’t stack discounts” the salesman told us we can’t “double dip” and “take advantage” of multiple discounts just because the store had a sale that is available to everyone… definitely not the place we want to spend our money in.

We’ve ordered a couch on 8/15, it was supposed to be delivered in two weeks but we still have not received it. The rescheduled delivery date is 10/18 and they said it’s rescheduled again to 10/31. We will never shop at this store. This has caused so much inconvenience in our moving. The worst.

Beware of the misleading claims around their “eco-performance” fabric.
At the store, the sales reps demonstrate how this fabric repels liquids — even wine — and highlight how it’s ideal for families with kids. I paid an extra $1,500 for this upgrade specifically because we expected occasional spills with children in the house.
In reality, the fabric does not perform as advertised. Liquids soak in quickly, leaving stains that are nearly impossible to remove. On top of that, we also purchased their insurance plan, expecting coverage for exactly these types of accidents. When we filed a claim, they refused to honor it under the pretense that the stains were due to “accumulation” rather than single incidents — essentially finding a loophole to deny coverage.
Their website boldly claims the fabric is:
“Spill-proof. Kid-proof. Life-proof. Now earth-friendly, too.”
That statement is completely misleading based on our experience.
Between the false advertising and the refusal to back their product with the insurance we paid for, this feels like a bait-and-switch. We paid a premium price expecting premium performance and support, and got neither.

Disappointing Customer Service Despite Finding My Dream Bunk Be
I recently visited Value City Furniture and had a frustrating experience that I feel compelled to share. I did find my dream bunk bed, the sales man Muhammad, and his supervisor left much to be desired.
The staff refused to sell us a $100 trundle bed that we needed to accommodate our two kids. This was disappointing since I was prepared to spend around $1500 in total, including the $800 bunk bed. It was baffling to me that they would turn away a sale over a $100 product.
I couldn't help but wonder if their refusal was influenced by the fact that we are a gay couple. Although I didn’t get a direct vibe of discrimination, it felt strange that they were so unwilling to sell us the trundle.
During our visit, I had a question about the trundle's dimensions, but instead of getting assistance, the salesman left us and never returned. I was left waiting for so long that I ultimately found a tape measure on my own. Unfortunately, I never got to learn the dimensions of the trundle to see if it would fit under the bunk bed, as they flat-out refused to sell it to us.
The lack of communication and support was incredibly rude and frustrating. I threw the salesman's card in the trash and have no intention of ever contacting him again since he clearly had no intention of speaking with us.
I hope Value City Furniture can improve their sales and customer service, as it could have made a significant difference in my shopping experience for a bed, and my kids could have had a much cooler bunk bed than the one we ended up buying that day.

This has been the worst furniture shopping experience I’ve ever had. I ordered an electric sofa, but was given a manual one instead — and the store expected me to accept it and keep paying for it. That’s completely unacceptable and borders on dishonesty.
To make matters worse, I tried to speak with a manager to resolve the issue, but the front office repeatedly told me the managers were “busy.” This level of unprofessionalism is shocking. I would never recommend this store to anyone.

I had an extremely frustrating experience with this warranty service from furniture store, and I would strongly advise against buying from them. I purchased the warranty service with the belief that it would cover cleaning any stains on the furniture, as they advertised. However, when I called the warranty team for assistance, they came in to clean the stain and suddenly claimed that those stains were accumulation “normal usage” and not covered under the warranty. I can definitely say it’s not accumulation as I raised the ticket immediately after we had an accident. Just because they were unable to get the stain off they are claiming it to be accumulation and I still have 2years of warranty left. This is clearly misleading and deceptive advertising!
They lure you in with the promise of protecting your furniture, only to deny you service when you actually need it. I called the store and spoke to the manager and was just asked to call the corporate number. If it was a purchase everybody would you so warm and welcoming but after that no words. It’s so disheartening that at least store would help me out but nothing there. It feels like a scam designed to make extra money off of customers without providing any real value. Save your time and money – do not trust their warranty program!
