Today I encountered the worst possible customer service. I have been patronizing this business Family Dollar on Chesaco Ave for over 5 years. I have always seen encounters of the customers getting into heated debates and arguments with employees. I also always minded my business because it never happened to me. However as a customer it’s not a happy feeling walking into chaos in a store.Well today was my lucky day. I bring items to the register. The cashier was playing explicit music as I ignored it. I gave a pair of booties and asked the price before giving the remaining items. The cashier did not greet me at all and was not focused on me and my transaction at all. He was on his phone and paying attention to other things. After giving me the price for the booties I then set the other items down. I am a bargain shopper and I always tell the cashiers if it’s not on sale I do not want it. He was not paying attention at all and missed every word I stated. After ringing up the remaining items, I asked did everything ring up for $2. He stated yes without even checking the register. He glanced and stated yes. Now, the very first item came up for $3. And then a few after. So, I’m watching them as he’s ringing and he’s not. I asked again, he stated yes. Twice he replied yes and didn’t check the register screen. I stated well why are these saying $3. He became very angry and defensive to the point that I asked for a manager. The manager comes and she’s even ruder. I had a entire heated debate and was called a “B” and all by the manager. The manager was also on the phone I’m assuming with another manager or her head manager talking about me as I’m standing right in front of her and the register. Calling me names and all and now I’m heated because I was disrespected all because of a price misunderstanding: if he was listening to begin with none of this would’ve happened for which I pride in bargain shopping and to make things easier I always state if it’s not on sale for the advertised price I do not want it. I’ve been doing this for years. The cashier even stated you doing all this for $1 four quarters. When long behold it was multiple items that wrung up incorrect.I am so disappointed and sadden by today’s customer service skills. I was threatened for the police to be called as well as refused sale. They refused to allow me to make my purchase causing me to have to go to another store. I will not be going back if o have to drive or pay more I will before I ever step foot back into that store. This has been a problem for years as I have been a witness to many encounters of heated debates with not only customers and employees but also witnessed 2 employees even arguing with each other and wouldn’t ring people up until they finished while both on phones talking to other people about what was happening. I still continued to patronize given that it’s always new employees. I change that for which it’s very unacceptable. The entire time I was in the store the manager had 2 people standing behind me that must’ve been called as backup in case things turned violent meaning they would’ve tried to gang up on me.

The cashier was very rude.When we got out of the store our bleach spilled when it was in our bag and they wouldn’t change our item . They were fussing and cussing at us.The guy on the counter front desk was very angry. When he wasn’t understanding me.He was saying random words and talking about how dumb we were with his co -worker out of respect.

They tell you to put your bag but they are very rude about it. Very messy and just rude staff. Never come here this is a horrendous store with no respect.

This store had been Unprofessional for 3 years !!!! All the cashiers listen to music that’s explicit, or they are on the phone and it’s just a. Mess !!!

This Family Dollar store off of Chesaco avenue seems to have items that the Family Dollar store on Philadelphia road in Rosedale does not have. All employees at both spots are always very friendly

Still the same. A little less crowded than others. But clean and fully stocked. Cashiers are still not professional, but they are not disrespectful.

As disappointed as I am with the service I received at the Chesaco location. I will leave out emotions and note the facts for record. The manager I encountered was dismissive and unprofessional during the following encounter: On Jan. 28th I made a purchase with coupons. I reviewed my receipt while still in the store and noticed price differences on 3 similar items. I selected the lesser priced items and took them to the Manager’s register for an exchange. The Manager stated that an exchange with coupons could possibly mess up her drawer and she doesn’t “feel like going through all of that”. When I repeated her statement to her, she blatantly denied what she said and told me to either exchange them at another Family Dollar location or come back the following day. It was predicted to snow and I am not in the area. I refused both options and requested a full refund. She stated that she did not know how do it because I used coupons. I told her that not knowing how to do it is a more accurate response than not feeling like doing it. I asked her to get her supervisor or someone on the phone to get it done so that I can get my refund and move on. She dismissed my request by calling the next customer in line. She left her register and came into the lobby as I was exiting the store. She then stated have a nice day. I left without incident.

The associate on the floor was very rude and disrespectful, the cashier at the front was very rude as well. They need new associates at that store

By far the most unpleasant,unprofessional staff ever. I just witnessed this young lady use profanity to the top of her voice at the counter in front of a full line of customers at the register! Unbelievable! With no hesitation she cursed out the young man delivering chips apparently regarding a previous argument she had with him in the past. The young man was as caught of guard as all of us customers were. He never said one foul word to her. All while 2 of her coworkers laughed. As shocking as this was. This was not the first time Ive witnessed this very same employee do this. She is extremely rude and disrespectful! The only store that doesn't even greet the customers with a hello or thank you after spending your money! Who is in charge here?! This is terrible!

I like the products in family dollar, however, the employees today were out of line. One particular employee was behind the counter laying across the counter and using an enormous amount of foul language. She didn't even bother to stop when my child was in line with me. She was using f-bombs and s-bombs like she was on a street corner. Family Dollar, please do a better job at picking your employees! No one should be subjected to this kind of "customer service".
