For a company that claims to be open 24/7, they sure didn't want to answer me.I had reached out to them about a 35ft motorhome needing to be towed about 22 miles, less than an hour tow, and they told me I would get a quote within a few business days. I called back maybe 4-5 times and got the same answers, "a supervisor will need to quote that type of tow, I will call him right now and tell him to call you back" then radio silence. This went on for almost 2 weeks and by the time I finally got a call back, I had already called another tow company and they gave me a great quote and could pick up the vehicle within a few days! I can't say anything about the tow service itself because I never heard back in time to actually move forward, but they were very difficult to get in touch with and never answered my questions.

Southern Maryland Towing caused $4611 of damage to my truck and refuses to repay me. The driver improperly put a winch on a weak part of the truck. Ripped it in half! We have 3 witnesses to the damage, on record. I have sent them this information, and they will not respond. They are unethical. DM me and I will send you more info about these crooks. Stay clear of this company.

I have always used this towing company for years for any tow I needed and always had nothing but good things to say about them. Back in June I needed my vehicle towed because my radiator had a leak and it was overheating. I called my insurance in which Southern Maryland tow was dispatched out to me. The gentleman that came to pick the car up was professional and did his do diligence in properly checking under the vehicle to find out the drive terrain. My vehicle was all wheel drive. He proceeded to hook the vehicle up and pull it up on the flat bed of the truck. My car was then taken to a mechanic where he them informed me upon the driver dropping the vehicle off that they both could not put the car into gear to get it off the truck. The mechanic had to use the shift lock to put the car into gear. The mechanic told me once the vehicle was off the tow truck and he put the car into park it would lock into park again. He would have to keep pushing something into the shift lock to put the car into gear. He then informed me that a few indicator lights had came on such as the check engine abs and emissions. None of these lights were on the dash until the car arrived. I called the company several times to info them that my car my have been damaged in the tow and never could get the so called proper manager on the phone to speak with him let alone get a call back all of this was documented with the tow company. I did speak to one dispatcher on 2 occasions and she did all she could do to help but when I spoke to a female manager she was no help and kept telling me she wasn't the manager to speak to and she would let the right manager know and she also told me this on 2 occasions. I then involved my insurance. My car was taken to an auto repair shop they told my some of my wires from the wire harness was damaged and also my lower ac line. Now I'm being informed through my insurance that southern Maryland tow is also giving them the run around not trying to be held responsible. And I still haven't gotten my car back because they are trying to get the tow company to pay for the damages and I'm still without my vehicle til this day and it's been close to a month now. If want an honorable upstanding company that can recognize when they made a mistake and handle it professionally then DO NOT USE Southern Maryland tow. The damages aren't significant but they do need to be held accountable for what they did. I already had to come out of pocket to repair the radiator I'm not trying to come out of pocket for anything that was not my fault. Be care when using this company.

2ND UPDATE: As retaliation for this post, they are now saying they need my grandmother herself, who they know is in the hospital indefinitely, has to come in and sign a release herself and that we will continue to be charged until then. Md. Code, Estates & Trusts § 17-101 states that a notarized letter is enough. UPDATE: WE BROUGHT THEM A NOTARIZED LETTER AND THEY STILL REFUSED TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY WANTED US TO PAY THEIR NOTARY TO DO IT. They changed their tune when we said our attorney would be handling it from here. My grandma is almost 80 years old and flipped her car less than a mile from her house. SMT was who the police called to tow the vehicle. We said multiple times to please just tow the vehicle to the house, but I guess they wouldn’t have made enough money off of her that way so they towed it to their impound lot regardless of our request. Now they are holding her car hostage, saying they will need the lot fees (which shouldn’t have existed in the first place) paid before anyone is even able to get things (including her prescription medication) out of the car, and even then anyone other than my grandmother will need a NOTARIZED LETTER FROM THE 80 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHO IS IN THE ICU AND CANNOT MOVE. Meanwhile the daily fees continue to build. I am not quick to pass judgment or complain, especially for a local business, but who knows how many elderly folks these people have taken advantage of. It is truly disgusting, and I will make sure everyone knows that this company likes to scam the elderly. BEWARE.

I call AAA and within a couple minutes a young lady called me from Southern Maryland Towing. She informed me she would be to my car in about 25 minutes. I went to my vehicle and she was there in about 20 minutes. She was very pleasant and patient with me. I would certainly recommend SMT to anyone needing a tow! Thanks

There was one of their trucks parked in front of a bar, and the driver was drinking. When I called to let the office know, the girl that answered the phone was very rude and disrespectful. I called the following day to speak with a manager and she was only slightly easier to talk to.Beware
