Just OK. Direct care professionals have been relatively good in my experience. However, my doctor told me to get glasses with the Rx given, then come back to have that double checked. With most insurances, lenses and frames are once annually. Why can the doctor not get the Rx right the first time? Especially when an appointment seems to take upwards of 3 hours? Why does this require two separate visits? In another experience, my disabled partner waited hours to be seen. She was left alone in an exam room, with no one checking on her or providing updates on expectations. I witnessed other patients with long wait times as well and other visits have been equally time consuming, so it does not appear a unique experience. Optical is hit and miss; I've dealt with cold and rude personnel and very friendly. Seems like they judge you for your insurance and buying power in Optical. Front desk is also hit and miss. I've witnessed incredibly rude, dismissive and very compassionate, understanding behavior in the same visit. However, the wait times are astronomical and the check in process is very confusing. Seems they could benefit from some changes in scheduling and streamlining. Appointments have no business taking such time. Definitely in need of some changes and training for accessibility too. I understand that healthcare is especially hard hit in regards to staffing in recent years. Making changes and improving scheduling is a larger challenge than previously. Hopefully it can be improved upon. Azar is a long time decent provider of care for what's available on the Shore, but I do not remember the experience being nearly as lukewarm in prior years. Hopefully they will step up standards for their patients' benefit.

Suggestions: Maintain a positive, upbeat tonality when interacting with customers. Empathize with them, and give every issue, no matter how trivial or complex, the same level of attention.Suggestion: Focus on a consistent customer advocacy language, and listen to your customers. You’ll get great results by asking your customers first and aligning your service with their needs rather than expecting customers to get accustomed to how you operate. Most important Suggestion: Set the standard for customer service high. If you want to be remembered as the leader in exceptional customer service, be one.

Felt like I was in a train station. It was crowded and chaotic. Dr was dismissive and moved us along. Then the receptionist yelled out at us to check out. Never again.

I have been a patient with Azar for years. Up until recently, I had some minor eye issues. For the first time this past weekend, I had the pleasure of having Dr. Filipov treat me for some eye issues. I have to say that with all of the doctors I have ever seen, Dr. Filipov has to be one of the best. He’s thorough, helpful, understanding, and listens to his patient! I don’t post many reviews and with my medical history I have seen a lot of doctors. I felt compelled to do a review and I hope that in doing so, I can help others in finding a great eye doctor.

I went here as a new customer. The ladies waited on me politely but when I started picking my glasses out one of the ladies helping me with glasses started to crack jokes about how blind I was. Being very self conscious about how bad my eyes are is tough enough having someone who is suppose to help and make you feel okay making fun of you just makes the situation 10x worse. Definitely will not come back here

Let me start by saying I do not write reviews. At all. But I signed up to do this because I was treated in such an incredibly unprofessional manner that I felt others needed to know. Took my 8 month old in for an eye issue....when I asked to hold my daughter in my arms and feed her (bottle) instead of "hold her legs between my legs, arms woth my arms and her chin in my hand to hold her down" I was met with resistance. When I asked questions about the diagnosis, such as if it would resolve on it's own or need medication, I was told to get another opinion because "clearly I did not trust them." A doctor who is unwilling to actually take the time to answer questions or even describe the diagnosis doesn't deserve to examine you.

This eye institute are rude to disabled children. We went there not so long ago with my autism brother and the optometrists tracey was rude to us because my brother wouldn’t let him self get check, Rather then understand the situation and politely say we can’t do the check up send us somewhere else. She just got mad and marked a big X across the paper she was doing for my brother and left mad and unprofessional. Don’t waste your time here

Don't waste your time and if you do decide to make an appointment, call and confirm it before you make the ride. You might save yourself some time. If they can't get scheduling right I don't think I can trust them with my eyes.
