I'm really sad to post this because I've used Banfield for the last few years with my previous pups. I just moved to an area where this Banfield is the only one in a 60 mile radius, so in buying the plan for our new dog,I was trusting in this location. In the few weeks that we started, our dog was accidentally double vaccinated. Luckily, there was no side effects, but I made it VERY clear that I did not want my dog to get boosted, because he already was. And this was with Lepto/ Lyme, etc, the meds that are heavy on their liver. I called about this request and I even had an email correspondence about it with a staff member. I was told it was in our file (email proof) to NOT boost him. My husband went a few weeks ago for an unrelated issue and when they brought out our dog, they casually mentioned 'oh, and we gave him his shots while he was back there'.... Long story short, after much back and forth, there was no real apology given, but we were able to cancel our plan and they even covered our October payment while we were waiting to hear back from HQ (it's a process to cancel your plan.) I'm disappointed that we have to go with regular vet visits from now on because the Banfield wellness plan really is worth the value! However, since there are no other locations nearby, canceling was the best and safest thing for us and our dog!

Brand new hospital and very friendly staff. They were able to squeeze me in without an appointment on a Saturday and I can’t be anymore thankful to them to help care for my injured pup!

I have taken my dogs to Banfield for over 20 years. All of my dogs have been on Banfield plans. I have been pleased with the veterinary care at all other locations except Salisbury. This is the only location that I have taken my pets that you do not actually see or talk to the vet. You only talk to a vet tech. You do not go with your pet for the procedure. The vet tech takes them to see the doctor. I am only assuming that is the case, as after the 10+ visits, I have never talked to vet- even though I have requested. It is somewhat ok for routine shots, but when there is anything beyond that, the vet tech really can't answer questions. This last visit, when I the tech couldnot answer my questions, made me wonder how can they be charging for an office visit? Other Banfield locations, you actually talk to the vet, and you are charged the same amount. This was my last visit at the Salisbury location.

One star is too generous. My cat was seen today for a comprehensive exam (seen by CD Eliana Greissworth in Salisbury, MD) and I am very upset with the service I received. The veterinarian insisted over and over that my cat needed to be euthanized in the next 24-48 hours and I had to repeatedly ask her what treatment options were available and what was actually wrong with my cat. She was unwilling to talk about treatments and kept insisting that immediate euthanasia was the best option. The only things that she could tell me were wrong with my cat were high blood sugar and constipation, and those are both treatable. She kept insisting that "all of her organs are shutting down" and that an illness must've been affecting my cat for a long time, despite the fact that she has been deemed healthy every time l've come in in the last year. I find this to be very suspicious considering the OWS plan renewed today, and I was left feeling like this is a ploy to put an elderly cat down and have me pay out a full year of her wellness plan without providing any of the benefits. She also sent my cat home with a blood sugar of 624 and did nothing to try to lower her blood sugar or give us an option to give her insulin or anything. I have never felt so bullied to euthanize an animal and I am horrified by the way that we have been treated. If you love your pet, please do not bring them here.

I was all set to give Banfield 5 Stars because they were the only vet service in the tri-state area who were willing to help right away with our daughters 14 yr old Schnauzer with infected teeth extraction. The poor dog has not been able to eat for over a week and most vets were giving us appointments that were over a month away. Our appointment was scheduled the next day with surgery by the end of the week. Well, the day of the appointment, Banfield called and had to reschedule the appointment for the next day. The next day comes and Banfield called and cancels that appointment with no future appointment given. Well, we have been keeping the dog alive by mixing water and soft food into a paste and injecting into the side of her mouth with a syringe. My daughter was able to get an appointment for the beginning of next week but will be traveling to a vet which is over 3 hours away and off the peninsula. Seems the vets around here only care about wellness visits and your SOL if your pet is really sick.

They have nice pens and that is the end of the positives I have to give to this place. More expensive than other vets who are doing the SAME EXACT thing. My dog needs an allergy shot every month and it's only 130 a month. I decided to try this place bc his reg vet is in Cambridge and it was 186?? I took my 4 cats here and I'm pulling them also!!! You have the vet visit, the shot and they charged to give the shot?? Isn't that the whole point of paying for the vet visit?? Why in the world am I paying someone to give a shot when I'm already paying for a 67 dollar vet visit?? It was an extra 25 bucks for them to "administer" his shot. They didn't do anything to him. No exams nothing. I came for TWO things an allergy shot and interceptor for heartworm preventative!!! They come out to tell me they can't even give the interceptor because they gotta do a "heart worm" test. Why tf would I be asking for heartworm prevention if he had Heartworm!! He's going to get heartworm now because you refused to give him heartworm preventative. I had to drive all the way to Cambridge to get his heartworm preventative which was what I was trying to avoid in the first place!!! A dog without heartworm could've gotten heartworm because you refused to give him preventative medicine. 188 bucks for a horrid experience when it's typically 130 EVERYWHERE else. Its usually 180 for his allergy shot AND his heartworm. I'll continue driving to Cambridge before I ever step foot in that horrible hell hole. Horrible place. You can't even go in the back with your animals at all. Horrible place. If you want an overpriced vet who doesn't care at all about your animals come here.

Our pet hurt herself as soon as we got to Ocean City. (We are from out of town). All the vets were closed and the ER vets had 6-8 hour waits. The ERs were also at least an hour away. We are Banfield patients at home so found the nearest one and couldn't be more pleased! The wait was reasonable (about an hour total) and the staff so friendly - from the phone call, intake and care provided to our pet and in answering our questions. Everyone is so nice, maybe even nicer than our home Banfield staff. Highly recommend it!!!

The staff was very sweet and incredibly accommodating to include my dog last minute as an emergency. TLDR - the veterinary medicinal practice is a little outdated. Probably great for preventative services My dog had bloody mucus coming from her rectum and had been vomiting on and off for a few days. I dropped her off and they did blood work, gave her fluids and antiemetic, fecal exam, pancreatic test and X-rays. In total everything was a little less than $900. Wish they had called me when my dog was ready instead of me waiting around and finally asking them if they were done. Luckily nothing was found in the samples, blood work or X-ray and my dog was diagnosed with hemorrhagic gastroenteritis from unknown reason. They gave me an antibiotic and probiotics to take home. I had asked for a whole body X-ray to look at the hips while they were at it. They agreed to but ended up only taking the first half of my dogs body..3 stars instead of 5 because my dog was prescribed an antibiotic when there was no bacteria/infection found in the sample. When I called back again to ask why my dog had an antibiotic if she had no bacteria found - they said it was to help with her diarrhea...A common side effect of antibiotics is diarrhea (which would make her dehydration worst) and should be used prudently for gastroenteritis caused by a bacterial infection
