“Perdue Thanksnuggets: Happy Thanksgiving! Today's review is the appropriately themed limited edition turkey nuggets from Perdue. These nuggets combine the "No Antibiotics Ever" turkey with sweet potato-seasoned breading. Perdue's goal is to take the best flavors of Thanksgiving and pack them into one delicious bite. Half the nuggets are drumstick shaped and the other half looks like mini turkeys. I wanted to try these last year, but they were an extremely limited release of only 100 bags! I've never had turkey nuggets before, so the only thing I could really compare them to is a standard chicken nugget. They tasted slightly sweet from the sweet potato breading, but if you didn't tell me it was sweet potato I don't know if I would have made the association. I still have to admit it's a uniquely flavored breading. Texturally the breading isn't anything to get excited about as it's not very crispy (personally I like the crispiness of popcorn chicken fritters).The meat was juicy, no complaints there. I tried one nugget on its own and made a sandwich with the rest. With the splash these nuggets made in 2020 I expected a little more and I'm slightly disappointed. In all honesty I think I set my expectations too high. These are still a good product even if they are over-hyped. Bonus that they are truly antibiotic free (trust me, I have an allergy to an antibiotic used in commercial poultry).
