“We had our winter wedding Reception at Cherry Hill Ballroom December 13th, 2003. (22 years ago) It was a good experience. I will never forget. Since it was Holiday season they had a huge beautiful Christmas tree well decorated and a fireplace. It was so cosy and all the guest were happy and comfortable.”

“My wife and I really enjoyed working with Mary and her team at VisArts. We had looked at around eight different venues before coming to VisArts. The venue stood out to us due to the space and the flexibility they offered with doing an outdoor wedding versus an indoor one (we opted for an indoor one). The location was also great since we were right by the Cambria Hotel Rockville (a 5-minute walk) and the Rockville metro station, meaning our guests could take the train from the airport. These were all pluses when it came to accommodating our out-of-town guests.
The cost was a bit more expensive than what we were originally considering, and that feeling persisted as we opted for some add-on things like the use of the roof for our cocktail reception, some decor, and a Zoom livestream for our ceremony. In total, it was $6,200 for the room rental package (a Saturday during peak wedding season) and $1,800 for the add-ons. Something unexpectedly nice was that 20% of the cost of our venue package was classified as a donation to VisArts and thus was tax-deductible. We felt good about supporting a local non-profit organization through our wedding.
Mary and her team were incredibly communicative and clear discussing what was expected of both them and us throughout the booking process. Overally, we’d definitely recommend VisArts as a space for anyone considering looking for a venue.

The staff was friendly, Jasmine helped us find pieces in our budget and prepare materials as we went along. “This place has improved over the years. Looks like they are redoing some green surrounds and bunkers soon too. I heard rumors they are redoing their fairways next year as well. Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.”

“This is my favorite hotel in the area. Very clean and spacious rooms also up to date. The gym is a 5/5! I love hanging down stairs just in the lobby food and service is amazing. The manager Stacy is truly one of kind when it comes to guest service and just how she with bonds with the rest of the staff . Definitely will be staying here again .”

“We had our wedding and reception at the museum in April 2023 - it was the perfect location for our 100-guest event. We had the ceremony and dinner in the courtyard, with a tent (because of uncertain weather) and a very small dance floor. There was plenty of space for more tables if you have a larger event. We used the exhibit hall for the bar, the octagonal room for dancing, and the narrow gallery for the buffet. We used the library to get dressed and to store our things during the event. The entire space, both indoor and outdoor, was lovely and perfect for the event. Dan and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and super helpful. 10/10 would recommend!”
