Point Lookout State Park is a Maryland State Park at the confluence of the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. It is a great park with something for everyone, offering a beautiful view, clean beach, and lots of parking. It is a great fishing spot and very dog friendly. Visitors can enjoy kayaking, swimming, excellent birding, and picnicking. The site includes a lighthouse with a neat museum and a junior ranger activity station. Reservations are required on weekends and holidays between May and September, as they can run out of space. The campground is currently closed for renovations.
Haven't been here since they closed for infrastructure repairs. Park is still the same...great camp sites, private because of the trees and bay grass. The water access is awesome. The gates installed are nice but the button pad needs to be higher and out farther for trucks with campers.
