I came to this location to rent a car for Uber. I was told over the phone that there was 3 cars available. They instructed me to set up an Avis proffered profile first and after I did that, I was told to come back tomorrow because they were about to close. The time was only 5:15, there was still 45 minutes left in the business day. I complied due to me not having my physical debit card on me anyway, I thought I’d be able to use it through tapping via Apple Pay. He claimed to not be able to manually enter my card details. The man at the counter advised me to come back tomorrow and he would hold a car for me. Here it is tomorrow, they’ve only been open a couple hours but somehow when I called before driving back to the location..I was told there are no more Uber cars available and the man working last night does NOT recall saying he’d hold a car for me. Unprofessional and unreliable staff.I also just had my male friend call them and ask if they had Uber cars, and now all of a sudden they do.

I have rented cars here at this Avis location in White Oak, Silver Spring, Maryland for six months now. I am always well received and treated as a valued customer. Ed and his team of professionals are efficient and friendly. I really enjoy interacting with the Avis team members here and renting my cars from Avis as a result. All the while, I am receiving a great value on my rentals. Other rental car offices should model this outlet!

Avis in Whiteoak Silver Spring is awesome. They always have my vehicle ready and will make the next reservation in the center. The representatives are helpful. They work hard at making sure your rental is available. Give them a try. A is the best.

I go on line to Reserve my car. I never had a problem when picking up my car. The car was clean and had no problem with it. The employees are very nice.

Whoever that answered the phone have 0 customer service experience! He is so disrespectful how he talks to you even when you asking a simple question with all respect! I’m not sure who is in clock but the time I called was 5:15pm Oct 2nd! Hopefully y’all can fix y’all customer service!!

I'm not sure how to review this place. I called twice trying to rent a car and both times I had a completely confusing conversation where they just kept disagreeing with my request to rent a car. I have no idea what was going on. First it was a woman who finally hung up in the middle of the conversation. I hit redial and got a man who kept getting loud telling me that no woman had been there all morning. I gave up.

This place doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. It has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. I made a reservation at 2pm and apparently this is when they close. I get there, there are people standing behind the counter who refuse to open the door. They’re rude and I will ask my company to remove them as a “preferred service”. I will never ever book this location again.

If I could leave 0 stars I would!!! I had a reservation for a vehicle to rent and received the email with all the details. Get to there office, not only was there anyone at the front desk but they didnt even have any vehicles at the location! I was told I received a "TEXT" that there were no more vehicles available. WHY DIDNT THEY GIVE ME A CALL?? WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS SENDS TEXTS TO CUSTOMERS??? WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY TO GET THERE. Not to mention, but 3 of these workers were all in the back doing God knows what...

They NEVER pick up the phone. I have been calling at all hours over a 3 day period. That is completely unacceptable when trying to run a business and provide customer service. AWFUL!!!

I have rented from this location for almost a decade. Before they were inside the Sears Auto Center before it closed down. Now they are in the White Oak Shopping Center next to a restaurant. I've never had any issue here but I'm also not an amateur car renter. You need to always make reservations online in advance and use corporate discounts or Costco codes. If you're dealing with Avis as a retail customer your experience won't be as good. Avis caters to corporate accounts. When you pick up the car, make sure you take photos of every side of the vehicle, especially the headlights and front bumper which are prone to damage. Being a savvy renter will help you avoid issues. This location is run by a few people who have been there many years and they do a good job with the inventory that they have in stock. You're renting in the suburbs and you're not paying the airport fees. But you also won't have the selection of an airport. Just keep these tips in mind and you can get a great rental.

Put in a reservation 3 weeks in advance. Didn't get a call until the day of that no cars were available. Had to scramble to find a last minute rental on a holiday weekend. Never renting from them again.

The desk representatives are ok, it's the cleanliness and condition of the vehicles being rented that are unacceptable. My last 3 rentals had issues. Having to thoroughly wipe down the inside of a rental myself was never a thing in the past, this time I literally had to take the vehicle to a car wash to have it cleaned because they didn't have any more cars to rent, even after being told over the phone they did have more cars. Among other things wrong with prior rentals, ie. gas light came on within a block of pick up, low tire pressure signal but tires appeared ok, cars needing mechanical care and body work. Not sure what's going on but Avis' car rentals have gone way down in my opinion. P.S. They also charged me more than I pre-paid and did not honor the refund for the car wash they suggested since they couldn't clean the car or give me another car. Other customers are complaining as well.

The agent here was rude and dismissive of our request. We booked a reservation three weeks prior for 5 people and they gave our car to someone else within 2 hours of our pickup time.The agent told us we were late for an hour or so and gave our car away. But the company policy states they hold our reservation for 15 hours.He was rude and not welcoming at all.I don’t recommend visiting this place at all.
