I visited Chase Silver Spring on Friday, 10/15 around 9:05 a.m. and asked the receptionist how to open a bank account. Her first response was, “Are you a U.S. citizen?”—no greeting or explanation of the process. That’s NOT how you welcome customers. Chase should train staff on customer service and the fact that a U.S. citizen doesn’t need to show proof of citizenship just to ask a question. I left and opened my account at Capital One instead, where the service was far more professional. Chase do better!

Branch located in the downtown Silver Spring. No parking on site, but the parking garage is less than 5 minutes walk across Wayne avenue. Scheduling an appointment is recommended. For the reference, opening 2 shared accounts took about 45 minutes from start to finish just bc of sheer amount of information & required signatures.
Also, if you are planning to open new account/apply to credit/mortgage - please do you your home work (Chase has useful website) & bring required documents with you, IMHO.

In this branch the service is terrible, the staff lacks professionalism and they are not trained in the operation they offer, it is terrible, it is not recommended, a terrible experience

This is the most useless Chase Branch in the whole country. Incompetent manager and the personal bankers are ignorant, lack professionalism and don’t know how to do their job. Don’t waste your time going to open an account at this branch as a new immigrant with a temporary I-551 permanent residency. They lack knowledge about US immigration laws and documentation. If you live in Silver Spring, don’t waste your time visiting this branch. Go to the nearest branch on Dahlia St NW in DC or the Silver Spring branch on New Hampshire Ave. I still don’t understand why customers can’t access in the ATM after hours. We have been accumulating ATM fees for using nearby BoA and Capital One after hours ATMs. I hope Chase Regional Office can look into these issues at this branch before they start losing important clients.

I have had a very good experience so far with the staff at this Chase branch. They are always welcoming, professional and helpful. However, I recently had a very frustrating experience with their ATM. I deposited money in cash, but the ATM only counted about 70% of the money. Despite submitting a claim immediately, Chase provided a temporary credit of the missing amount which they later withdrew. Their responses from Chase claim department were inconsistent and unhelpful. I urge everyone to double-check their ATM deposits here. I have read online that many other people have also had bad experiences with Chase ATMs. I hope the bank will fix this issue.

I went there today, and they had excellent customer service. The moment i walked in, i know i was at the right place. The hospitality and helpfulness of the employees are very impeccable. They all deserve a raise. I would definitely recommend this bank to anyone.

I have nothing but good things to say about this branch. I've been banking with them for the past year & the staff always look out for me since I'm a regular there. As far as the ATM being closed when the branch is, is because homeless people sleep, get high & pee all in the ATM room when they had it available to customers after hours.

Don’t bother trying to use the ATM here, half the time it’s completely broken and you can also never use it after hours. If the bank is closed, so is the ATM. What’s even the point?

I went in to open a business account with Mrs. Mercy Wambari she had me wait about an hour until I left because they told me she was stuck in traffic and would have to wait more. Bad customer service no sincere apologies were made. Maybe it's just this branch, I've had many people advise me to bank with chase but was not a pleasant experience
