Bad parking situation. Car gets towed even if parked in a parking spot. Terrible place overall. Way overpriced for how old the building is. Amenities like pool is never functional. Ridden with pests all around. Overall one of the worst places in downtown SS to live in.

I wish zero stars was an option. We have been living here for a year and a half now, and it’s gotten progressively worse. Currently, it is 98 degrees in our apartment, which is on the top floor with south-facing windows, because the A/C for the whole building was turned off on October 6th, well before cold weather fully arrives in the DC area. We have 4 fans going full blast, all curtains fully closed, and no ice maker. Our cats are suffering, as they cannot leave the apartment to seek “relief” outside in the 80 degree weather. Cattle and inmates have more rights when it comes to temperature regulation than do the residents of Colesville Towers. We have spoken with management about the issue, with no resolution offered whatsoever. Not even an extra fan to borrow or an ice tray. This is not the first time our apartment has reached the 90s, as this has happened three other times since we moved in. Every spring and fall are unbearable, as they refuse to leave the A/C on for the comfort of their tenants, instead opting to save money and only offer us A/C from mid-May through early October. Those of us facing south (roughly half of the units in the building) have no use for heat year-round, though it’s on and available from October through April, thus saving Ross Management money on HVAC expenses while their tenants endure inhumane conditions.Beyond that, we have had repeated issues with cockroaches, and even a mouse one time – again, on the 11th story – despite our diligent cleanliness and pest deterrents. Management is unresponsive to emails, making in-person visits to the office the only way to communicate with them. The gym is in great disrepair, multiple laundry machines are often out of order, and the windows to the lobby have been broken three times over the past year by unruly tenants. Packages routinely have been stolen with few repercussions. Tenants are encouraged to purchase their own doorbell cameras to protect their packages from being stolen, rather than management spending any resources to install a single security camera on each floor (they’re in the elevators only). We see no reason to provide a notice of moving out, as management has put in no effort to make us want to stay any longer than is absolutely necessary. We plan to make a formal complaint with Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs. No one should have to live like this.

this is the worst place to live if possible I would absolutely give it zero stars the front Dess is rude and they do not care about your concerns is the worst apartment I ever been to starting with mice which is a big problem also roaches or a problem people living in the apartment complex is a problem and is not under control. I have neighbors who have dogs that have worms that are pooping on my floor. I have an upset neighbor who screams at night every and I have made it to wear multiple times a what should they do not care about and all they say is we know about the problem and we are getting it under control with an attitude or put me on hold and hang up the phone the way that I am being treated for the amount that I pay is unacceptable and they need to get the apartment under control when I first moved here department was nice and it had some problems but not as many as they are now and they were able to get under control but at this point it’s like nothing is getting handle and it’s just getting worse I can walk outside my apartment and see mouse running around. I can see roaches and trash outside of my apartment.

They don't ever really open the door for you. There are giant roaches and trash and homeless people always in the stairs it's so loud. Kids like to ding dong ditch and early in the morning kids are running and screaming and crying there is mice. You could hear everything from upstairs moving or dropping. There is pee or some random liquid in the stairwell there was a lady that was cussing me and my sister out for no reason and the big elevator is always stuck and the laundry machines are mostly broken the vending machine always takes your money the pool probably will never open I hear the neighbors fighting sometimes this build is just really crazy expensive parking thin wall messy and stinky trash room they mosty decorated the lobby so people would think the building was fancy they don't care about the other floors that's why they don't make it look as good as the lobby when I first came here I thought it was a luxury building and has no roaches but I was wrong, really wrong

Would rate a 0 if possible. The front desk is useless. Barely picks up the phone and when they do they don’t solve anything. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. This place will have you stressed more than you need to be.

The leasing agent made a complete waste of my time. I applied, showed up for the scheduled tour and the agent showed me the common areas and was about to show me an available unit. I only found out I would not be considered when I asked directly. I asked if they would even consider me as I didn't have pay stubs that qualified, only an offer letter from a full time job at a Fortune 500 company. The agent said "Oh, no you won't." At that point I ended the appointment, as there was no use in seeing a unit I would not qualify for. Highly unprofessional.

I live in this building for two years. The overall experience is good. I totally agree that there are things that need to be focus on and work hard on. Plus, tenants should play their role in making sure everything is clean and taking care of the property. Tenants need to make sure to time when their cloth is done washing and drying and not leaving them in the washer and dryer for hours. Tenants need to use a reliable trash bags and not stain and dirty the hallway of the floors. Tenants need to not allow any visitor to come without registering their names on the front desk.It is not fair to give this place 1 star and just talk about negatives. 40 people gives this place two stars but it does worth more if you talk about a big huge building. The location of this place is amazing. It is close to the Ellsworth public park and dog park. It is a beautiful neighborhood and I use to run and walk to the Sligo Creek park. Plus, whole food, Safeway, and Gaint are all within walking distance. THE SILVER SPRING DOWNTOWN is within 2 mins from the back door of the building!! I forgot about the swimming pool! I really miss the swimming pool and the gym!Even though the building is old, The manager, Ms. Walker, is working hard to make sure everything is running great! She is a good communicator and listener. I can see the renovations. I moved and there was a great work on the building parking. I am sure, they are working on repainting the whole floors and replacing the carpet (which people always make them dirty by using unreliable trash bags that will leak and leave the carpet dirty. Also sometimes they leave the trash in the trash room and do not take the move to slide it!!)I support having a professional cleaning company to take care of the building on daily bases. I also support having a better solutions for the insect issue. Finally, I support more communication courses for workers and leasing agents. The maintenance guy, I do not recall his name. But he is working hard and 24hrs to make sure everything is good.I do not say that there is no issues. Each building has issues. And most of the issue can be fixed. I hope the management work hard with Ms. Walker to make it a better place.I hope I am fair in the post. Thank you for accommodating me for two years!

Rude, unprofessional, and deceptive management. I set an appointment to tour the apartment. The agent contacted me many times and scheduled the date and time. When I went to the leasing office, they denied the appointment. When I showed the confirmation emails and asked for an explanation, the agent said I could tour the apartment after signing the leasing contract; for now, they will show me some videos.

Great downtown silver spring location. Very walkable neighborhood and walking distance to metro, shopping and restaurants. Bus stop is directly in front of the building as well. Building has great amenities and friendly staff. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

All the stuff about mice and bugs is accurate, but also want to add that the complex does not actually have a working swimming pool even though they have pictures of it on their website and on apartment listing sites. The "swimming pool" is actually full of garbage and dirty water and hasn't been open for the last 2 years. Tenants are not offered any compensation even though we pay for a damn pool.

Manager and management are not working. Because of their inattention, I started having emotional problems. My bedroom was flooded. I have been begging the manager for 2 months to report to the insurance company. She dont want meeting and not even answered by email!!!

I got my comforter stolen from the laundromat within a 7 minute time frame. When I reached out to the office, they stated they couldn't do anything about it due to "not knowing what to look for" and needing a police report to get said covers back. Even though I knew the time frame it would have happened in and could even draw you a picture of what my covers looked like. Cool, we're just going to be okay with thieves living here. Furthermore, believe the rest of these reviews in regard to the pests the cohabit with me. I saw roaches as soon as I moved in. A mouse crawled up the radiator and made a home under the stove. Another one made it's way in and there were droppings all OVER my stove--the place I need the most to feed myself. After tickets to maintenance I was made aware there is a list to get your apartment treated every Tuesday. I was not made aware of this prior to signing my lease and my leasing agent was the assistant manager. When they did come to treat they did so for roaches but not for mice. The picture attached is of the rotting wood under my sink which the mice had used as a motel. I think it's ridiculous to pay the amount I do for an apartment where I live with pests, the cabinets are rotting, my things aren't safe in the laundry room, and the office staff could care less. I have paid on time every month since moving in. My storage unit was cleaner and more courteous than this. The leasing agents are hard to reach and will say anything to get you off their backs rather than actually accessing the situation and helping you. Update: I just received a notice under my door saying my apartment is deemed cluttered/unsanitary and that I should have it clean for inspection. I don't even have furniture because I don't want pests to have more places to hide and all the stuff that I would be glad to have in my kitchen, I have in the living room because of the fact that I have to take it all out every single Tuesday because of said extermination list for the next month. It's been 3 months of trying to maintain open communication about this and to be told this is essentially my fault is downright ridiculous and unfair.

The pricing is unacceptable. Not "a little high for the standard", no, it's completely unacceptable. Period. They expect you to pay over a THOUSAND dollars, every single MONTH? To get your food crawled on by roaches and mice? Find a better apartment complex.Furthermore, ignore whatever statement they make below in reply to this comment. They're greedy, and desperately trying to stay in business at insane rent rates, refusing to drop their prices despite the abysmal quality of their product -- in staying at such a high price, they are openly stating their willingness to coerce, so th e legitimacy of their reply cannot be trusted.Edit in response to the owner response: I do not care. Lower your prices. Your apartments are not worth the amount you are charging.

I am not the type of person to write bad reviews but THIS RIGHT HERE IS A BIG NO! I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL MY LEASE IS UP TO MOVE!This property deserves no stars let me tell you why.1. There is an issue with parking in the garage. They want to charge $120 for people to park their cars in a designated spot, on the weekends when people in the leasing office is gone people decide they want to park anywhere in the garage. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME SOMEONE HAS PARKED IN MY SPOT AND MIND YOU I HAD TO GET MINE CHANGED TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE. They do not do anything about it. The parking for the property is HORRIBLE OVERALL2. There is a big problem with ROACHES! When we first moved in there was no roaches in my apartment. I keep a clean house. After living here for months we have started seeing a roach here, a roach there it was manageable. However lately roaches have been spotted EVERYWHERE IT IS DISGUSTING. Maintenance came in and sprayed it does NOTHING.3. Security DOES NOTHING. Its fights happening that you can hear. People stomping over your hear , dropping stuff , being loud. Nobody answers the phone when you call.4. The cost of these apartments are not even worth the money. I can pay this amount somewhere cleaner and safer with better parking and a property that actually fixes issues. You want people to move in here and make it look like its to great to live here its a nightmare!
