The facility is very clean and spacious. Staff are regularly walking around to make sure equipment is returned to its proper space. Much better than some other locations.

I have never paid so much for bad service! After purchasing personal training for $235/month, my personal trainer was constantly late and no showing appointments. I first addressed it with the trainer and after no change took up the matter with Auria the sales manager. He said he would have another trainer get back with me. After one phone call the second personal trainer Hadj, never called me back do to "personal situations." I spoke with Auria again and he said he would take care of it and yet again no call back. I had to call another gym to figure out that they have personal training managers. The personal training manager (Max) at Aspin Hill branch (on Bel Pre RD) said he would take care of the situation and get me set-up with another personal trainer. Max said he would call me the next day at 9:30 in the morning and never did. After several days he left a message on my phone and to call him. I have called and left a message for him 5 times in a matter of 2 weeks, I am still waiting for a call back. Meanwhile I am paying $235 for personal training and receiving no personal training! I forgot to mention they make you sign a contract and if you cancel then you have to pay half of the personal training contract. What a scam! I am making a claim on the Better Business Bureau next. BTW - Good luck tryin to reach a corporate manager. They don't call you back either. These people don't care if they steal your money.

Just signed up and want to thank Auria for all the assistance he provided. Gave a great in depth tour of the gym and answered all my questions. I have been a member of multiple other facilities and he provided me the best customer service in my experience. I'm excited to continue being a member of this gym, the facility is clean and there is a lot of different equipment available that makes me excited to return and continue my fitness journey.

Really clean and well equipped gym. The general manager Auria was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire process.

Very deceptive in their fees. I'm in the military and straight up told the rep that I only wanted 2 months and we agreed on $70 to pay for first and last month. I got charged an annual fee and an additional subscription I didn't want. Now going through the mess of canceling it and of course they're hard to get a hold of on the phone. I would give 0 stars if possible.

Very nice facility, BUT - the worst housekeeping. Dumbbells everywhere on the ground, noting’s organized, very poor gym etiquette.

This place is constantly gross, dirty and unusable. The fire escape door didn’t close for about 2 months and chirped loudly every 2 mins or so.The floors look like they haven’t been cleaned in months, if ever.Usually 2-3 machines are broken at any time for days- a week. The TV has been showing ‘please pay for service for a few weeks as a example of how maintained this place is.Weights are almost always scattered around the gym at all hours and you have to hunt for them.Everything is dirty- please see pics. Even the air vents have large dust halos.People are filming themselves all the time, getting half the gym in their tik toks and staff never says anything.Bathrooms in the last 2 weeks. 4 toilet stalls. One didn’t flush, two out of toilet paper. And all the sinks look like the photo below.I decided to post this after looking for dumbells and seeing 2 people “using” 9 sets of weights and staff just shrugging. It’s just… the worst.EDIT: Just to show it wasn’t once. Different day, different person. Using FIVE sets of dumbells. Did not put away.

I have never once come here and not found the weight area in total dissaray. It's like nobody that works out here knows how to properly re rack their weights and the staff clearly does not care either. Same size weights won't even be together at times or you'll find 20lb where the 90lb weights should be and vice versa. It's too small and overcrowded in addition. I was excited when this gym was built because it's close to my house but it has done nothing but dissapoint since it opened. I usually travel 35 minutes out of my way to rockville to go to another because the equipment is respected by its patrons and staff. I drafted this review weeks ago and have been sitting on it for a while but then the last time I went, same machines or cables were broken that were broken weeks prior, no staff in sight anywhere, I felt like I was foraging for treasure as I searched for matching free weights, people walking around shirtless like it's their home. I cannot believe this gym is associated with LA Fitness.

Place is going downhill fast. Once a machine breaks it stays broken forever. There's also no point in having a membership as they just let people in through the front without checking membership as well as through the back emergency door. They might as well not have anyone working in the front desk they can hardly answer any questions and rarely check memberships. What's the point of paying for a membership at a gym that has broken machines and terrible management with zero care as to who comes into the gym. Not only is it not safe but is not fair to all the paying members.

LA Fitness has a bad reputation of being a generally filthy place. I walked in and everything seemed nice at first. They definitely have a lot of machines, but when you get close you realize everyone here is a dirty bird and doesn't wipe down their bars, benches, or equipment before or after use. The bars are blackened with caked on skin, there's dust all over the gym. LA fitness typically deploys cleaning paper towel stations, but people really like to use gym wipes - so please LA Fitness quit being cheap and just get wipes so people with clean their gunk off of the equipment

This gym used to be nice. so disgusting. you see people taking the top part off from the disinfectant wall dispensers and dipping their paper towels to get the liquid out because the pump mechanism doesn't work. Ive complained before. Im not paying for this dump of a gym anymore. canceling today and signing up for Life Time.

Solid, clean gym but disappointing that they invest so much in specialized machines that most folks hardly ever use or even need instead of focusing on the basics. For example, there are only three squat racks that are often occupied. Why not have more racks and get rid of idle machines? Also the kettlebells only go up to 35lbs and are located in the restricted personal training section. Also not enough space to do deadlifts when the racks areas are occupied and there are no extra barbells available beyond what is already on the benches and racks.

BEWARE OF THIS GYM. I would give this 0 stars if I could. I canceled this gym membership in the month of May. They said I still have to pay for my last moth of use with was June. I agreed to the charge. COME TO JULY they still haven't canceled my membership. The management here is a joke, they were unhelpful and condescending to the help you need. Tells you inaccurate details about your plan to get you to sign up. DON'T GO TO THIS LOCATION.

Remember Bally Total Fitness? I bought a lifetime family membership for the entire country for about $1,000 back in the late 90's. I paid only monthly maintenance fees for our four memberships which were set up on auto pay. I think the total was $13 per month. But middle daughter moved where there were no Bally's, I didn't go to Rockville, other daughters joined gyms right down the street in our town. So, I didn't know Bally's was sold & taken over by LA Fitness, but I read that Bally members could just go use LA Fitness. When middle daughter returned, she began going to LA Fitness in Wheaton but one day they told her she couldn't return. I called & was told I needed to come in person to the Wheaton gym with my original Bally's membership packet to prove I bought a lifetime membership. Luckily I had all of it. I was also told that I needed to pay 1.5 years of back maintenance fees because LA Fitness stopped doing auto pay for some unknown yet likely nefarious reason. I didn't even notice that autopay had stopped because the monthly amount was such a small amount. I didn't want to travel to Wheaton, the LA Fitness in Rockville had difficult parking, and the price of gym membership came way down, so paying several hundred $$ for back maintenance fees seemed ridiculous. So, LA Fitness pulled a fast one on me and probably countless others. Lesson: Lifetime warranty or membership means nothing. I also have vinyl windows with a lifetime warranty but business went under (supposedly) & manufacturer (Preservation) claims ANY & ALL failures in the windows are NEVER due to flaws; rather it's ALWAYS improper installation so Preservation doesn't pay a dime. I could have bought something really nice for $1,000 in the late 1990's.

Highly recommend going in for a trial if you’re interested in joining. The base price is like $40 plus an additional $80 to start. The place was filthy. I guess I was spoiled at my old planet fitness but here there aren’t any cleaner bottles (or any I could find in cardio area) and so I watched as no one cleans their machines or weights. The machine I used had caked on drips of sweat definitely older than a day and many others looked the same. The women’s restrooms was also dirty with trash and splashes all over the mirrors as well. Do they not have a cleaning person or simply not care? I’m shocked for the price they charge because it is not reflected in the gym.
