“The Cheesesteak champ is here!!!! All I can say is that my expectations we're completely blown away. Let's start with the quality of beef, and that was top-notch, I should have expected it as it operates as a butchery shop. The combination of cheese whiz, seasonings, and a bit of mayo that was cooked all together created on amazing cheesesteak. Lastly, the bread that was the vessel for this amazing creation was perfectly crispy, a soft roll that I truly was not expecting here in Maryland. If you like cheesesteaks, do yourself a favor and check them out. The fries were cooked in beef tallow and were perfect, but the star is the steak sub!”

“We were eating nearby and saw this place and decided to go in and check it out. We saw the Afghan naan looked good and it was only a couple dollars. I don't have much information about the rest of the store but this might be the best bread we have had regardless of price.Now we make sure to stop by whenever we are nearby. The bread with potato filling is also very good, not sure what it is called. The employees we have encountered there are all very friendly and helpful.”

“I could not believe this store. People were lined up outside trying to get in line. This was my first time and I knew the food had to be good with so many people standing in line. I purchased a 7 pound Honey Baked Ham and a small sliced Turkey packet. The manager was so helpful but she sent Mr Alonzo to complete my order. He took care of my needs and brought all the Ham with him to the front counter. I will return to this store again. The food and customer service was outstanding.”

“I have purchased A5 wagyu beef from Union Meat Company three times in the past year. Everyone is very helpful -- they ask questions about when I plan to cook it and if it's not immediately, they will vacuum seal the cuts for me. A5 isn't cheap, but the prices here are fair. I'm thankful that they always have it in stock and are attentive and helpful!”

This time I went with the roast beef sandwich, it is a fairly classic roast beef sandwich but the flavors are bold. Wagshal’s is a beloved DC institution for good reason!Wagshal’s stands out to me for its sandwiches, its holiday meal plates and its friendly, responsive service. Sandwiches are invariably well-made and delicious. We’ve also appreciated Wagshal’s holiday meal plates for 2-4 people. Deliveries are reliable.I’m sad to say that, as of late 2023, Wagshal’s prices for many holiday meats, side dishes and baked goods have grown stratospheric. That is leading me to shop more establishments and purchase from Wagshal’s less frequently. It’s unfortunate if Wagshal’s pricing is discouraging purchases by the loyal customers who built its success over the years.”
