Just as the other review stated, Marvin Gar is no longer responding to phone calls and his email bounces back so we are unable to follow up with him to honor his warranty when we just sprang a leak in our roof.Service: Roof installation

I cannot get ahold of Marvin Gar who was our point of contact for a 2021 roof replacement. The phone and email both bounce. We have a leak and need support in Washington, D.C. Has anyone been able to get in contact with MG Roofing/Marvin?

Terrible customer service. A service rep (Marvin) called me after my home warranty service reached out to MG Roofing and Marvin attempted to get me to pay out of pocket when the company was contracted via a home warranty service. When I told him this wasn't my understanding of how the process worked, he told me not to call again and hung up on me. If you value customer service, do not use this company.

In July I decided to contact this company because I had a roof leak. If you thoroughly look through the reviews of this company (including on yelp) you will see that the owner is both RUDE AND CONDESCENDING. However, all I really cared about was the job being done so I ignored this-big.mistake. 1.) After I signed the contract Marvin took forever to complete the work and each time I contacted him he sounded irritated. 2.) When the workers showed up to my house they went straight to my roof without letting me know that they had arrived. When I discussed this with Marvin he said "They are there to work not for you." Is that how you talk to customers? 3.) After waiting forever for the job to be done, paying thousands, and dealing with his horrible customer service he did me a "favor" by resealing the flashing for my porch with caulk. After this was done white caulk was left on the front of my house and the workers never asked for paint to cover it up. 4.) I noticed this the next day and Marvin stated to leave the paint on the porch and that they would get to it as they go down their list. How about you just finish the job that we agreed to? After having the paint sit on my porch for weeks I decided id rather pay someone than deal with him. 5.) How can I trust a 10 year warranty with a company like this?

If you have a minor roof repair that needs to be done, don't waste your time. It was made clear he's only interested in full roof repairs or trying to talk us into additional work that is unnecessary. If he cannot achieve one of the two while meeting with you, don't expect a quote or a the decency of a timely response. Its unethical that he chooses to cherry pick jobs when a customer in need of a service is ignored bc he simply doesn't want the job. I understand business, if it's not worth your time you can just say so. Neither myself or my husband were rude. It was in assessing the roof, which is leaking in one area at the seam which was warped, Marvin suggested making multiple fixes to additional areas that weren't even leaking. I assume as a pre-emptive measure and I appreciate the suggestion, but who has money to fix things that aren't currently broken. He says he wanted to be invited into my home to have a further look, well I'm sorry sir not in a pandemic. And what for?? We took pictures of the roof ourselves to show him exactly what he would've seen had he come inside for a look. Moral of the story.. small roof repairs don't bother unless you have extra money to repair his unnecessary suggestions.

Marvin gave me a quote, came to do the job as promised, completed the job and only then asked for a payment. Left the worksite clean and as far as I can tell did a terrific job. Highly recommend for roof/siding repairs.

I found Marvin thru a friend who had a roof done and he was please with his professional service. I gave him a call and he came early to my house got on the roof and then gave me an estimate. I agree to get my roof done. And let me tell I couldn't be any more happier with the job. What I Liked was how friendly, competent and responsible your team was in getting the job done.

I had to call him multiple times to have him honor the warranty. It was a really bad experience.

Replaced siding on a part of my house. MG provided a detailed quote promptly, and the price was competitive. The work was done very carefully and professionally. Everything that was agreed upon, was done in time. Communication was easy and efficient. I would hire them again, and I recommend them for similar projects.

Marvin is a great roofer. We've used him in the past for roofing and siding, and when we needed repairs to the old house we are moving into, we knew he'd be the one to call. Our roof needed a new flat part and plenty of repairs to the old slate. Marvin met us there on time and started the work the next day. A few days later, the flat roof was new (and improved with insulation), the rusted galvanized seams were replaced and the cracked slate tiles were replaced. They even cleaned all of the gutters as a free bonus. It looks great, and any of the water damage in the ceiling has stopped. I strongly recommend him.

MG Roofing installed a brand new roof for us about a month ago. I contacted MG Roofing and met with the owner Marvin the following day. Marvin was extremely personable and emailed a quote within 15 minutes after inspecting the roof. He mentioned that he could start the job the following week and to email/call him if we wished to proceed. I also met with four other contractors. Some of the other contractors prices were competitive while others were much higher. What I liked about MG Roofing was that the owner was not pushy and didn't call me non stop like the other contractors. We finally agreed to go with MG Roofing and we could not have been happier. MG Roofing replaced the whole roof in three days. Marvin kept in the loop throughout the entire process and quickly answered any questions we had. I would highly recommend MG Roofing.

Marvin helped us out of a jam when a renegade van with a tall ladder driving by tore our Comcast cable out of the side of our house and our downspout along with it. He was very responsive to our plea for help and our downspout was fixed and installed within a very short window of time without our having to do anything but ask for help. I would definitely recommend MG Roofing.

I'm going to echo my Angie's List review here as using MGR started off great and then faltered in communications and then passed blame off when called out on it: The initial estimation session, quote, and work required sounded great. Marvin arrived early, was very friendly and professional, and made sure we weren't paying for work that wasn't required. However, when the day came to complete the scheduled work, no one showed up. When I emailed to ask if everything was okay, his response was that he was out for the Thanksgiving holiday and that rain made working difficult. We rescheduled to the weekend after Thanksgiving but again no one showed up on the scheduled day. When I reached out after the no-show I never got a reply. The price was excellent and he was very friendly, but after two no-shows with no prior warning and never an apology for missing the work, it's hard to recommend MGR to anyone. He replied to said review saying he emailed and texted (he did not) and that rain prevented work, which it did for the first appointment, but it was bright and sunny on the second. I do not recommend working with him. He's eager to get your business but clearly needs an adjustment in customer relations and project management.

MG Roofing has repaired my asphalt shingle roof 4 times in the past year. The first two times, they replaced shingles that blew off in wind storms. The last two times, they found the source of small leaks in other parts of the roof and fixed them. Every time, they showed up on time, worked quickly and did the job right the first time for a very reasonable price. The owner, Marvin Garzcilazo, is a master roofer. His crew does outstanding work.

If you plan on using MG Roofing PLEASE read the fine print in the contract! Marvin sent us a contract to replace our roof and informed us he would be stopping by the next morning to pick up the signed contract. My Wife and I looked it over and realized that there was a discrepancy in how long the warranty is. One part of the contract (which was clearly created by him) stated that they would provide a 12-year warranty for their work. Another part of the contract (which was probably created by an attorney) stated that they would provide an 8-year warranty for their work as well. When he arrived I asked him about the discrepancy in the contract and he said that the contract was done by his lawyer. I asked him if he could update the contract to reflect the correct warranty and he got upset because I questioned him about it. He literally stormed out the house after I asked him to do this. As he was leaving I yelled out for him to make the updates and as soon as I receive it I will scan it back to him. He brushed me off and kept going. I haven't heard from him since! I gave him 24-hours before calling him but to no avail. I called him a couple more times and even texted him letting him know I was still waiting on him to return my phone call. Still NOTHING. Take this as a warning. READ THE FINE PRINT IN YOUR CONTRACT!
