Murray's was reccomended by a friend. They were very professional, they sent me emails to confirm my appt & well as,calls to inform me of their step by step work on my car. They gave me honest recommendations on prices & services. Their prices and services are better than the dealers.

I normally wouldn't bother to write a bad review, but I'm honestly a little shocked by my experience at Murray's auto clinic. Murray's came highly recommended by a friend, so therefore I believed I was in very good hands. I brought my SUV to Murrays because the Check AWD (all wheel drive) system light came on my dashboard after having 2 used tires installed. I became very worried by the alert, and didn't want to risk damage to my vehicle by not investigating the cause for the light to come on. I was a nervous wreck when I brought my vehicle into the shop, for fear that I would receive bad news. I dropped my vehicle off first thing in the morning as instructed and left to wait for the cars system to be checked. At noon, I was told my vehicle is ready. When picking up my vehicle, I was given a very vague explanation as to why the sensor light came on. A very vague explanation which to me meant maybe they had no clue what the problem could be (which, if that was the case, just say so). The mechanic suggested I purchase 4 brand new tires to correct the problem. In the meantime, he said he cleared the code (for now) and that the light would most likely return until I purchase 4 new tires. This was definitely not good news because I had only just purchased the two used tires but, I figured they are professionals, and I would follow their advice. Literally the same day the AWD check status light came right back on as the mechanic had stated would possibly happen. So I definitely figured I needed to hurry and get four new tires.Fast forward two weeks later, I'd been driving with the AWD check status light on for two weeks when while driving the Check Tire Pressure status light came on. I always carry a portable air pump in my vehicle, so I proceeded to check the tire pressure and add air. Turns out, the PSI (tire pressure) for 2 tires was severely high 45 psi vs 32 psi (correct psi for my SUV) and the two remaining tires had severely low psi (25 psi vs 32 psi). I corrected the psi for all four tires to 32 psi, and when I drove the car afterwards.......NO LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD! No Check AWD light, and no check tire pressure light. Now, I paid $138 for my visit to Murray's auto clinic. Which I paid, trusting that they did all they could professionally to ensure that my car was fine. Call me crazy, but wouldn't you think a professional mechanic would think to check tire pressure in a situation such as mine? I'm literally shocked that they didn't even think to check my tire pressure. That's would be the first thing I would check, IF I were a mechanic, but I'm not and I expected a lot more from these guys. So disappointing. So just wanted to give a heads up to any ladies considering bringing their car to this auto shop. Be careful. If you don't know much about vehicles... You might be in trouble going there.

Easy to schedule an appointment and they have good hours to drop off and pick up before and after work. I only used them for a MD vehicle inspection but was happy with the service and communication. I will try them again when I need more serious repairs (knock on wood…)Services: Vehicle Inspection

I have a 2006 Scion xB that I have really abused. Their competence and honesty have kept me on the road. My car is coming up to the 200,000 mile Mark and I think I will make it because they take good care of my car even though it's a wreck. I'm pretty sure they've done a couple of things gratis without telling me. I'm a 70 year old woman and they don't treat me like I'm an idiot. They answer questions and are often very funny. It helps that when I first had my car my brother was a retired mechanic and he could advise me on repairs. I learned quickly that I could trust what they were telling me about my car. And they were very helpful offering advice on what repairs should be done before others if my finances were tight. I've been going there for years and I will continue.Services: Tires

Visited Murray’s without an appointment to get my side mirror fixed. One of the mechanics was so helpful and was able to get it fixed working 5 minutes. And I was not charged. I don’t know too many places in this day and age they won’t try to gouge your eyes out for every penny. So happy that I went here.Service: Auto side view mirror repair

I (desperately) needed a State Inspection for my vehicle as I had an appointment at the MVA the next day. Murray’s was able to get me in without an appointment (although I believe I was lucky here, they do require appointments) and complete the inspection quickly and at a competitive price compared to other businesses in the area.Unfortunately, I did not pass the inspection and needed additional services for my car to pass. One of the mechanics, Marty, patiently explained everything I needed done and was able to complete all services same-day. I’m unsure of how those costs compare to others in the area. However, I was able to get everything done that I needed to and quickly. Definitely going back to Murray’s for all car-related needs. Can’t thank the team enough.

I thought my a/c was dead and also needed a tune up. It sounded like a lawn mower engine when I turned it on and wasn't cooling. Turns out some of the gloves I kept in the glove compartment for covid had been sucked into the blower motor. That was a weird problem I never anticipated. Murray's removed the blower motor and cleaned out the debris. Tune up was not needed. Repair was quick and inexpensive. Love them.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement

These guys are great. Super responsive and reliable, and affordable. One day while washing my car, I found my little son smiling and spraying water into the gas tank. In think he thought he was being helpful. The next day the car had trouble starting. I called around and everyone told me they would have to replace the tank and it would cost over $1k. When I called Murray's, they asked me about the make and model of my car and came back with an alternative and creative solution. They didn't replace the tank and saved me hundreds of dollars. The car is working as good as before. I really appreciated how they took the extra effort to make this affordable for me. Now it's just a funny story I will continue to remind my son about when he gets older.

Very honest people. Came in with diagnostic from the Subaru dealer of bad catalytic converter. $4000 to replace.At Murray’s they took the time to triple check everything to make sure it was the Catalytic converter and they found it was the oil compressor switch that was bad. They charge me $150 and save the rest. Thank you to everyone at Murray’s for your honesty!!!!

Took my car here for repairs after it was stolen. Marty was the mechanic that worked on my car and seemed like a pleasant guy. The obvious damages were repaired and they informed me of a spring clock replacement that’s needed. When I picked my car up, I drove around for 30+ minutes and realized my AC isn’t working (not getting cool). I called the shop to figure out what could be going on..Marty seemed dismissive stating it could be a leak or etc. but that he hadn’t worked on my car before it was stolen, so he’s not sure. However, State Farm and I paid for a full inspection, so I figured he would’ve assessed the car entirely.

The service is really good. It trurned out that the car was fine, and the repairs suggested by the dealership were not required. They inspected it and told me we did not require a service because the brakes were fine. They just charged me for the time, and did not take advantage of me as the dealership does ALL THE TIME.
