★☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointed and Concerned
I had a deeply troubling experience with Village Cleaners in Clovelly off New Hampshire Road. My daughter visited today to help me drop off clothes for dry cleaning. She politely asked for pricing and was met with vague responses from the owner, who said prices for women’s dress suits “depend on how she feels,” the material, or whether she was “in the mood to work.” Despite my daughter stating she was happy to pay, the owner still refused service or to provide a clear price.
Concerned, I stopped by myself after work. The owner again would not commit to a clear price, saying she “might have to do too much work” and arbitrarily quoted $20 or more per suit. When I asked if her prices change based on who walks in, what car they drive, or what their skin color is, she offered no reassurance.
As a local resident, I’m extremely disappointed to see this kind of inconsistent and discriminatory behavior from a small business meant to serve the community. Everyone deserves fair treatment—regardless of appearance. I urge others to consider this when deciding whether to support this establishment.

Fast easy friendly experience here. I dropped off a dress for mending and was able to pick it up next day, $10 for a few tears fixed (she found one I didn't know about!). She saved me some money by advising me to hand wash the dress instead of dry cleaning it. Will def come again for sewing needs!

Absolutely outstanding work and excellent customer service. Ms Lee is incredibly nice and has an amazing eye for detail seeing things on my garments I would never have noticed before. She’s an old school artisan who really cares for her patrons and the service she provides. I wish I found her sooner. Strongly recommend everyone in the area see her for your dry cleaning needs.

I had a great experience at Village Cleaners! I took my dress in with a 3 week time frame of when I needed it to be completed and the owner completed it in 1! There was a changing room and the owner measured me really quickly and listened to my requests. She treated my dress with care and I really trusted her advice. I will 100% be going back with further alterations!Highly recommending this location!

Excellent work done quickly at a fair price. I've had a number of alterations done here and her work is top notch. Her cleaning and pressing are at least as good as any of her local competition. Add in that the proprietor is friendly and cares about her work, this is an easy recommendation.

waited forever on the phone, inquired about a simple job with two white dress shirt. she said it was impossible to do in one day, I was hoping to ask by when the service could be done and inquire about pricing and she hung up on me after saying “no no, is impossible.” hung up. I have two dress shirts. I was very willing to drop one off to be cleaned in the next day or two and wear one today for my job. But she hung up before I could tell her that. extremely unprofessional. super unhelpful and shut down immediately. by far the worst customer service I’ve ever received over the phone... and I had to call AT&T customer service once and that was an hour plus wait. It’s without saying I never want to speak with or get my stuff tailored/cleaned here.I know they do the job well but at what inconvenience to the customer. not worth the 6 minute drive. I hope they see this, you’re foul over the phone ma’m.
