October 2025 by Alissa Turner
We were so lucky to have our wedding at No Thyme to Cook in October 2025, and I don’t think there is a better wedding venue out there. We had the most amazing time with our 50 guests, and we were all completely blown away by the food, the drinks, the views, and the overall atmosphere provided by this incredible venue. Donna House was amazing to work with, and was a full blown wedding planner: setting up my arch florals, working with rental vendors and setting everything up day of, holding my train as I walked out with my dad to go down the aisle, and making sure my husband and I had everything we needed throughout the entire weekend. No detail was missed - Donna and her team put on the perfect wedding. The incredible No Thyme To Cook staff truly made our whole experience. The amazing chefs, the bartenders and servers - everyone was so professional, amazingly talented, and so friendly and fun to hang out with and interact with throughout the night. We picked from No Thyme’s event food menu, and everything was DELICIOUS. Truly 5 stars! We were given the option however to go off menu, and they would’ve put together whatever we asked, which was a nice option to have. We did signature drinks (fresh squeezed crushes) that were delicious and a hit with our guests. We were also lucky enough to stay in the Chef’s Loft at the top floor of the venue (rentable on Airbnb) and it was such a joy to spend the days leading up to our wedding at our venue. It was spacious, comfortable, and again had the best views in town. I even used it as a bridal suite day-of, and it was a perfect space for myself and 8 others (bridesmaids and hair and makeup). There is not a thing I would change about our weekend spent at No Thyme to Cook, and we are so incredibly thankful to Donna and the No Thyme staff for hosting the best day of our lives, and for going above and beyond to make it so special and perfect.

Regarding “I now pronounce you dead” murder mystery on 9/13/25: Overall, this was a complete waste of 2.5 hours and a LOT of money! We had been contacted in advance that we were to be the bride and groom, so we dressed according, complete with an ivory lace dress, black suit and tie, and fresh flower bouquet and boutonniere. Upon arriving at 5:30, we were directed to the cash bar, and our bride & groom table. I was sure that some alcohol was included with the meal, but it was not mentioned nor offered. Shame on the bartender for that! The wedding table was a high top, set apart from all the other guests. And my chair was missing a front rung in order to get up into the chair. My husband had to roam around and find another chair to switch it out for me. Being seated separately from the rest of the guests left us completely out of all conversations regarding the murder mystery, and that was unpleasant. Everyone should have been seated at the same table. As people arrived, it seemed that there was no Host or Facilitator to greet us and get us situated. Finally, Lois arrived, and it became clear that she was the Host, but she repeatedly called me (the bride) by the wrong name throughout the evening. While my hard-of-hearing husband could actually hear Lois, we felt she did a poor job of unfolding the events of the murder. There did not seem to be a “story” nor the disclosing of suspicious activities and/or individuals. It seemed as if the story might have been rewritten just before the event, and she was not fully familiar with it. Then the food arrived, and I found it to be absolutely awful! The Italian wedding soup was far too spicy. The tenderloin was cold and the chimichurri sauce on it was overwhelmingly the flavor of the vinegar, not the herbs, as it should have been. I took two bites of the beef, one with and one without the sauce, and told my husband that I was not going to eat any more of it. It just did not taste good. The fingerling potatoes were dry and bland, and only the green beans were any good. Throughout the evening, it was unclear who had been murdered, until toward the end. Everyone had been handed a paper with a QR code to scan to see if they were innocent or guilty. There was the cutting of the wedding cake (which had great flavor, but was not made in house), and the champagne toast. Finally, the bride and groom were invited to come to the table with the other guests, where we discussed who might have committed the murder. We were given sheets of paper to write down who we thought did it and why. Lois then announced that the culprit was the best man, and that he had been having an affair that the wedding planner had been blackmailing him for. I don’t believe we got much of that information, if any, throughout the evening. So, overall, this event fell flat for me, and I would not recommend wasting your time or money. No Thyme To Cook does not know how to present a murder mystery, and the food left a lot to be desired.

My first time attending a class was the Father's Day Grilling demonstration on June 15, 2025. We arrived early so that the 4 of us could sit together (would not have been able to sit together otherwise even though we requested it early). The room was very nice, the view was beautiful, the staff was very accommodating, the chefs were very informative, and the food tasted great. We did enjoy the experience with 2 exceptions.
1. They ran out of ingredients for one of the cocktails and mixed other ingredients together.
2. The tomahawk steak advertised and cooked was exciting, but the amount actually served was barely 3 ounces which was very disappointing for the fathers we were celebrating considering the cost of the class. The servers indicated leftovers go home with them (but I paid for it??) Not cool.

This was the worst “experience”, my group of 4 signed up for the paella experience with chef Gwen and soon arriving the event changed to a demonstration with chef v. The event was supposed to be from 6-8pm. We received our dinner at 8:30 and had to get our dessert to go. We sat for hrs waiting for an explanation or details of the meal. The only thing we learned was that chef Gwen took the pan on vacation about 2-4 times. The young lady drying dishes kept touching her hair and then the clean dishes repeatedly. The mussels were cold on our dish. We luckily were the first to eat and had time to eat and wait for ten minutes before we finally threw in the towel and decided it was enough and had to leave. We left before any other table had received their dishes. This was an absolute waste of a night and a waste of “thyme”. By far the worst “experience” I have ever signed up for.

We had a rehearsal dinner here on 6/6/25 for 38 people. As the Mother of the Groom, I wanted it to be special for my son and his bride to be. Due to timing, I couldn’t do all the decor myself so I asked Donna if her staff could help. They absolutely exceeded my expectations! The decor, the venue, the food….all spectacular. I highly recommend No Thyme To Cook if you want a special place for your event. Working with Donna was fantastic. Lots of communication and no surprises!

I have never been to a place that was so compassionate and understanding at the last moment. I went to a work event with my husband to watch a cooking demonstration and try their food. Unfortunately while I was in line to try what looked absolutely amazing, I found out everything had onions. I am allergic to onions and was only able to try the tortilla chips. One of the chefs noticed this and immediately was on a mission. Chef V came to me apologizing (not their fault at all!) but they made me the best carbonara I have ever had! We will definitely be back for a cooking class because the food and service was stellar!

Went here for a company event. I've never been here before but was very happy we came by. Spectlaur views. This is an open kitchen with great food. All the appetizers had onions in them. My wife is allergic to onions. The chef came over and apologized. They cooked her a special meal with no onions. For future events, they might want to ask partys or events if there are any allergies. We also had a child with peanut allergy but did not affect him. All the food was good. It was cooked great and was extremely tasty. There are 2 levels here and 2 outdoor areas. They have a bar as well. Nice little venue with super nice staff. They have small cooking classes and different things going on check there web site for something different to do. I would give them 9 out of 10 stars.

My wife & I attended a cooking class with Chef Gwyn Novak & it was amazing! Great setting, great views, great staff, great menu, and most importantly, great instruction! Our food was fabulous!
The back deck is also great & very relaxing! The bar hosts great variations of spirits, wines & beers which compliment the relaxing areas out back to take in beautiful Solomons Harbor. There are multiple areas out back to relax & decompress: The back deck, directly outside from the main instructional kitchen & the bar, or step down to the sand-flanked boardwalk adjoining the bulkhead! Take your shoes off & enjoy the sand between your toes!
A truly magical establishment in the heart of Solomons owned/operated by a chef with a passion for teaching others the true art of food!
We will definitely be going back!

I did really enjoy the event. The activities that were available were great and seemed to make everyone excited to participate. I loved that there was a place to take pictures and shop for books or jewelry. My only issue was that I was sent an email that there was supposed crab or seafood along with vegetarian options for food but there was only one thing. And there was supposed to be a costume contest which there wasn't. But other then that I enjoyed the event and hope for more bookish events like it.

Went to the Argentine appetizer eventSorry to say it was extremely disappointingThis was after the wine tasting last Wednesday which was above parThe announcement for the appetizer event stated An Argentine Happy Hour: Appetizers, Cocktails, & Wine. Which I thought indicated the drinks were included I feel like it should have stated Argentine Happy Hour, bar available for fee or simply Argentine Happy Hour and the menu The wine was overpriced at $12.00 a glass. The wine tasting was $9.00 a glass at the barThe food was not as pictured and unappetizingSorry, but this event was not what I expected from NTTC and certainly not priced correctly at $75.00 a person plus fee
