The extensions came in handy while plowing. I bought a pair and run them from my gloves through the sleeves of my coat to a pocket in my sweatshirt where I kept several additional batteries and switched them out during an 8 hour period. I kept them on high and it was the most comfortable that I have been in frigid weather
