“We love Passionately Pets! Jenna and Vanna are wonderful to work with, and our sitter, Anne, is fantastic. She communicates updates on our pet regularly, along with plenty of pictures. We so appreciate all the work they do to keep our pet happy and safe!!”

1280 4th St NE, Washington“I love everything about Nova Bossa. Carolina and her team have selected beautiful items that you can feel really good about. They spark you heart and soul. I bought a ring when I just really needed something pretty and good -- they made the shopping experience so positive and now I have a bit of sparkle in my day. Would recommend in every way if you're looking for that special gift for someone or for yourself.”
“My go-to store for gifts! I always find something unique and local, paired with the most amazing cards, to gift for any occasion. Grateful this store is in my neighborhood, because it saves me *every* time!”
“This is the one y’all! Came in looking for a simple Christmas candle, left with so many cute, curated gifts for my friends! No shortage of lovely gifts here if you’re looking to do some holiday shopping for yourself or your loved ones.”
“This place smells wonderful. It has a little bit of everything. Food, clothing, glassware, games, books, etc.The people are very friendly and helpful. It's a smaller store, and you could still spend a couple of hours enjoying all the various offerings they have to sell.Take your time, enjoy this little gem in the heart of old Town Alexandria.”
“I have nothing but wonderful things to say about SHELTER! My husband and I had them design custom wedding rings. They walked us through the whole process and pricing. Everything was transparent and they made sure we were happy at every stage from the design through the fitting. Hope to work with them again in the future and would highly recommend them for custom jewelry or they also have wonderful designs in the store.”
10AM - 6PM
6927 Laurel Ave, Takoma Park“This store is GREAT for gifts, surprises, or just some nice finds to have around your home. It's also great for finding puzzles, games, or hobbies to do on your own. They also had quality cards for special occasions, and many unique items - and all for a good value - that really made me appreciate this store. It's a shop that's worth coming by over and over again, whenever I'm in the area to see what finds for sale the owner has managed to pull out of the top hat. And this isn't a second-hand shop.”
“I love this store, both the Shirlington and Wharf locations! They have a variety of unique gift ideas - but my favorite is their selection of vintage jewelry 5 stars all the way!”
“Whether you're looking for a gift for yourself or someone else, there's likely something here that'll perfectly match the occasion. Prices are steep which is to be expected, but my guess is the profits support KenCen, so I'm not too bent out of shape about it. The staff are always friendly and helpful, but the store tends to get very crowded and hard to navigate with so many people shopping.”
10AM - 7PM
915 King St, Alexandria“Very fun store to visit. Nice selection of jewelry, crafts, and knickknacks. A great place to look for gifts. Also, weirdly a good selection of coffee, tea, and cocoa. All of those are covered by a rewards program if you go regularly. The spicy cocoa is particularly tasty.”
10AM - 7PM
1121 King St, Alexandria“I was the recipient of a love gift from their store. I have NOT been inside their brick-and-mortar, but I can say that their products' quality were great! I was very appreciative of the gift from my friend who sent it. I received some sugar cubes, drink syrup, and cookies. I have already used all of the sugar cubes that were rose petal infused. The syrup we received from the local shop's website was perfect for martinis, and the cookies were quickly consumed upon arrival of the package. Shop Made in Virginia specializes in items locally made throughout VA. They have everything in one location, providing a single-stop shop for all things Virginia. You can order items from their website, making it even more convenient to combine items from different places versus just ordering directly from the distributor and having items show up at someone's door individually. They offer food, jewelry, art, prints, bath + beauty items, along with much more. It is worth checking out in-person or online!”

1821 18th St NW, Washington“The only smoke shop in DC worth going to! The staff are so kind and incredibly knowledgeable. Most importantly though… the vibes. They are the best. No where else gets my business—if you’re considering checking this place out, I highly recommend it!”

4007 34th St, Mt Rainier“Doing Nisey’s is like being on a treasure hunt. You will find something that satisfies your desire, need or want. While shopping, the vibe you experience is like therapy. A real feel good place. The proprietor (Jackie) is informative, creative, sweet and a true jewel.??”
“I found this business online while on the hunt for a wooden wine holder shaped as a duck for my girlfriend's mother as she had added this to her Christmas wishlist. (Yes, I know it sounds silly). I'm skeptical when it comes to online shopping with the way the world is today but I hoped for the best & ended up purchasing the item. What led me to their site was the fact that the product was way cheaper than the competitors & their shipping timeframe was promising. About a week later, I received the item and it was perfect! Exactly as described, got here quickly, and didn't cost an arm or a leg to do so! Very satisfied customer!”

First time for my daughter, son and wife and they really had a blast seeing all the displays in the museum. Great place for the family and lots of things to see. Really really an Amazing place to visit with the family and kids. Highly recommend”
“Visited with MIL - a gem of a find. While small, lots of beautiful and unique gifts, especially for the hard-to-shop-for category. The owner was a delight and we were happy to leave with nice gifts for others (bags, jewelry, and definitely some for ourselves). It's right off Eastern Market and upstairs from a cards and balloons shop so a bit hard to see from the street - but worth seeking out!”

3428 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington“A great neighborhood institution and easy to reach via Metro or bus. It is a calm, quiet, peaceful shop filled with the best greeting card collection in DC, scarves, children's toys, gifts. Suprabha, the owner, is terrific and can help you find anything you might need. She makes every customer feel special.”

“We were pleasantly surprised by the National Building Museum! It was recommended to me by a relative and I'm glad we took the time to check it out. It was just my husband and I, so we skipped the extra fee to see the Lawn exhibit, aimed at families with young children. It made me miss my kids at that age as they would have loved running up and down hills! We enjoyed many of the unusual current exhibits such as Hoops (photographer Bill Bamberger's collection of photographs depicting basketball courts from around the world showing how they build communities), House & Home (historical exhibit about what it means to live at home for different people across the United States), Secret Cities (the architecture and planning of the Manhattan Project), Flickering Treasures (historical look at the world of great movie theaters in Baltimore), and more! Also, the building that houses the National Building Museum itself is quite grand and there is something to see. Completed in 1887, it originally housed the United States Pension Bureau to serve Civil War veterans and their families. A frieze depicting scenes from the Civil War surrounds the exterior of the building. It also served as the location of several inaugural balls and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1985.”
