I will never go back to Eldersburg Vet. I had such a horrible experience. There are two stray cats that hang around my farm, and I only wanted rabies shots for them, in order to protect my other animals. My wife called to set up the appt for the rabies shots. The front desk was told on two different occasions (the initial appt schedule and when they called back to confirm the appt) that we ONLY wanted the rabies shots. We sent our 19 year old son to take the strays in.He called us after the appt to tell us they charged us over $700 for other stuff we did not ask for. He said he was never asked about anything, that the tech and vet took the cats and "did stuff" and came back at the end of the appt.I was extremely upset and called them. I told them we were very specific in our request for only the rabies shot. The front desk person told us that "they don't communicate those things to the vets." What office doesn't communicate with their other staff? When my wife spoke to the vet, they got very nasty with her and tried to blame everything on us.I don't think I can put into words how it feels to be taken advantage of like this, and then to have the staff try to put the blame on us.

Eldersburg Vet has consistently been a caring and professional animal hospital. We have had wonderful service from them over the years, and they came through today at the last minute with compassionate help in our hour of need and sorrow. Thank you for your love and assistance - our family is very grateful.

All three of our dogs and both of our cats go here. The staff is very friendly and never shame our animals for being overweight. They are flexible with last minute tech visits.

From the very first appointment with this place, they were very rude and showed little to no compassion. They do not have a very well animal aggressive policy in place. The lady at the front desk is unbelievably rude, always on the phone a.k.a. her cell phone. In speaking of her being unbelievably rude to me, she decided to put in my chart that I was rude to her. You will see plenty of negative reviews about the front desk receptionist, this wasn't just my experience. If they treat you badly, imagine how they treat your animals behind your back.

Brought my senior cat in for a well visit. He had also been vomiting a lot so I had that specific concern. Was presented with $750 estimate for blood tests and other tests. I stated I had care credit and did not have my card and was not sure if it was still active. The young lady told me they would look it up for me. I told her it it was active then go ahead and do the tests otherwise I could only cover $400. They didn't check to see if my account was active (surprise, it wasn't) and did all the tests. I was presented with a bill over $700 and told my card was not valid. I managed to scrape together the money, was not given an apology about the "misunderstanding" and sent on my way with a promise I would get a call within the next few days about my cat's blood work and tests. Two weeks later I still hadn't heard back and I finally called. I got a call back and told "good news! The blood work looks great. Give your cat some hair ball medicine and the vomiting should stop". Two months later after the vomiting presented with blood I took him to another vet and was told he had cancer and it had progressed too far to do anything. I had to put my best friend down 2 months after this vet supposedly did almost $1000 worth of tests that showed he was doing great. I doubt they even did the tests. Someone could tell me this vet brought their pet back from the dead and I would still avoid it at all costs. The least compassionate uncaring place I've ever taken my boy and now I'll never take him anywhere again because they said he looked great and he had cancer. If I could give them a -5 star review I would. Disgusting

They are okay here. They totally botched a claw trim on my large breed puppy. He bled so much all over the floor. It was like the shining. Since I was pregnant with twins at the time , this was not cool at all. Worst part was they actually had the nerve to charge me for the service. In my professional opinion, as someone licensed to do nails , I wouldn’t expect someone to pay if I botched the job. Common sense, courtesy, and respect. I called and told them how I felt, they did apologize but didn’t refund the money. Instead I was told to book with a vet, not tech since the vet would “ do a better job”

Thank you to the entire staff at Eldersburg Veterinary Hospital, both past and present, for taking such wonderful care of our two dogs over the years. Just recently, our dog Baxter, whom we loved dearly, passed away and the love and support given by the staff at EVH was unrivaled. He lived a long, stupendous life and I don't think that would've been possible without the care that he received at EVH. We miss you Baxter, wish you were still here with us.

My boy is back! Honestly, this all was a team effort that included Eldersburg Vet Hospital, my pet (Ickus; a cat.) and God.Any team can be made or broken if one piece is deficient. This hospital played it’s part well and got my little man, the help he needed. He was looking very bad and upon calling, this hospital was able to see Ickus, same day. They hadn’t seen him since he was a wee kitten, but that held no bearing… They got him in and established a treatment plan for his kidney failure (that was determined at the appointment.)The other good thing was that everyone was kind and extremely helpful. This was a hard time and nothing could be guaranteed. Everyone was realistic and offered every option for Ickus.Ultimately, we took fluids home and put our boy on dialysis. We prayed and cared for our man. By the grace of God, our cat rebounded and it seems we get to keep him with us for a while longer. As Eldersburg Vet Hospital is where I adopted Ickus, 13 years ago, I have to say that it’s a wonderful place; Warm, well staffed and most helpful. We all pray that we’ll not need to visit for a time, but if ever the time comes, we know we can count on this wonderful place.Thank you.Amy, Rico, Ickus and Massy (other kitty)

Eldersburg Vet was absolutely wonderful. We had just moved to the area and had an emergent issue. They got us in right away and were incredibly helpful. The vet and vet tech were so patient and handled our pitbull so well. Highly recommend this vet
