While passing through the area, I blew a brake line & called this shop & they made time to repair my vehicle on the spot ; 1 hour later, I was back on the road. Totally impressed. I wouldn't hesitate to give them my business in the future. Very friendly staff too.

Sykesville Auto is our go-to for all maintenance and we will never return to a major dealership service center again. The staff at Sykesville is friendly and always willing to go above and beyond for us, and on top of that the rates are extremely reasonable. On more than one occasion Sykesville Auto has saved us $$ through honest assessments and repairs that major dealerships previously said were necessary jobs.

I called Sykesville Auto on a late Friday afternoon in the summer when my tire had very low pressure. They got me in right away, patched my tire and had me out the door within 30 minutes. Highly recommend!!

Good service for years. Maybe lose the sexism though. When I schedule, leave my name and phone number, answer all the calls about service and come in to pay, there is no need to tell me “Tell [my husband] thank you.” It’s my car and my money. You can just thank me for the business.Service: Electrical

Four of us are on a road trip from central Texas in an '09 Honda Odyssey with 239k miles, bolt on idler pulley broke. Threw the belt for the alternator and power steering. Managed to get to this shop just before 5:00 pm. Greg drove me 20 miles to rent another van which we used to do some sightseeing while they fixed my van IN ONE DAY!! Congenial, fair (very, since we were at their mercy), professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I have no idea how we could have found anyone who could have treated us better. Thanks again, you guys!!!'

My experience with Sykesville Car Service, SCS, has been 5 star every time I have been there. My most recent repair was to correct a power steering leak. After 2 bottles of stop leak, I took my 2005 Ford Ranger in for diagnosis and repair. Joe and his crew of experienced and skilled mechanics stayed on this task through repairing the entire power steering lines and testing the repairs using 3 new pumps (none worked) and reinstalling each pump at least once.By best practice this, this required them to consult an older resource who recommended a new rack and pinion component. This proved to be the critical insight to make a durable fix. What is remarkable is that they did not give up despite 10+ days of having the truck there. This is perseverance, professionalism and great service. It's a bonus that they are in Sykesville close enough to walk to.I recommend Sykesville Car Service without reservation and will be using them for my future car/truck repairs.

Had my vehicle fixed there times. First time for state inspection repair. That was pricy but passes inspection. Then had a sequel from a belt which they replaced. Still squealed, took it back they replaced belt a second time free. Still squealed. They then were going to charge me for another belt replacement. Taking somewhere else.

I brought my GMC Sierrra Denali here for an oil change and tire rotation. After I dropped off my truck I went over to Big Belly Deli for breakfast, then walked around downtown Sykesville. By the time I got back to the shop they were finishing up. Before I left I showed them a scrape/scratch on my door from another vehicles door. They buffed it out and advised me on how to cover up the scratches.Services: Auto detailing

This shop was recommended to me by my mother and father who have been taking there vehicles to them for years and years. Obviously management has changed as well as the mechanics because a $400 spark plug change which was preventive work. (Truck was running great and had no issues.) They called me 4 days later and told me my truck was not running right. Turns out the genius mechanic(whom I seriously doubt is even certified) put the wrong spark plugs in and ran my truck until it was on E (sent in with full tank of gas) trying to “troubleshoot”. Doing this for an extended period of time destroyed my O2 sensors and cadylitic converter. SO AFTER 3 WEEKS OF HAVING MY TRUCK, they then tell me there must’ve of been something wrong with the truck before I brought it in. (Was inspected for Sale a year ago and then reinspected 6 months ago by Nissan when I had my fuel system cleaned out). So all and all they ripped me off $450 bucks and refused to fix there massive mess up. I tried pulling my truck off the lot and it didn’t even make it up the hill. Service engine light is on which has never been on since owning the truck. Real scumbags DO NOT spend your money with them. They are inexperienced and unprofessional. Supposedly there main mechanic got laid off and then left during the pandemic and IT SHOWS.

Fantastic service. I usually don't write reviews, but Terry was such a great person to work with. Not only did he fix my problem, he didn't try and "sell" me anything I didn't need. He explained my problem, answered all the questions I had, and got the fixing done in record time. Very pleasant company to work with and would HIGHLY recommend. Thank you!!

The lady at the counter was so pleasant to work with! I was traveling and my brakes went out. They were prompt, diagnosed and fixed the problem. I thought the price was very fair as well. I would recommend this shop to anyone!

While I was away for work my wife needed some work done on her vehicle. She went to several shops in the area who seemed to just give her unrealistic estimates. Finally, she went to Sykesville Car Service and they treated her with so much respect and honesty. George, the owner, showed real concern for my wife's car problem, and advised her to buy her part online to lessen the costs. When I came back, I began taking our vehicles here and became real friends with George and Terry. Both are very genuine and offer discounts where they can. It's difficult to find goodhearted businesses who aren't centered on greed, but genuinely care for their community.
