I just moved here from NYC, I had the same mechanic for 20yrs in Brooklyn. Cindy and Kit - husband and wife team of this shop is amazing. Feel like they are taking care of me. Honest work and more than a fair price.

They are AMAZING. Got me scheduled and dealt with quickly for a troubling rattle that turned out to be a stick lodged in my car's undercarriage. Also changed my oil and topped off fluids at a great price. Convenient and friendly. I'll definitely return here for future service.

It is so nice to have an auto mechanic that is trustworthy! I had a coolant leak that was causing the engine temp to rise. Not only did they find/repair the issue (at reasonable cost), they also advised me on whether I should tow it or risk driving it there myself. Very happy I live close enough to use them!

I have been going here for years even though it is a little far for me. I recently had some noise under my car. I tried another shop closer to my home and I really regret it. They completely misdiagnosed the problem. I wasted my time and money. I went here and Kit said I needed new struts. Problem solved. I will never go to another shop again ! Thank you !

This is the best mechanic shop I have ever used. Staff is so friendly and helpful, I was worried about having to take my car to the dealership but they solved my Subaru's problems and kept me informed along the way.

As someone who is a d*** noodle with a car: they are fantastic. They are kind and prompt and honest - if they cannot fix your car they will tell you and still be helpful. Trust in Old Town Service!

I bought a new car (my first ever!) during the pandemic. It's hardly been driven at all, and it stays covered in my private garage. Absolutely no one has access to my car, except for the times I venture out to run a quick errand. A few months ago, I was planning to drive out of state to visit my parents for a few days. But a "low tire pressure" light came on my dashboard a few days before I was due to leave. I wanted to get that checked out before I got on the road, and I decided to go ahead and have an oil change done as well (because my car would've needed that in a few hundred miles more anyway). Based on the glowing Yelp reviews, I called this local shop. I appreciated the fast, friendly service of the receptionist (who I think is also part owner with her husband) and was scheduled to come in first thing in the morning at the start of the week. When I dropped off the car, I specifically stated that my tire pressure light had come on -- and I was told that tire pressures are checked standard with an oil change. Great, I thought. Now you are not allowed to wait on site while your car is being serviced. It's an extremely small shop, and you are encouraged to walk over to historic downtown Takoma DC to pass the time while they service the car. So I went and sat at the outside streetery on the main drag until I got a call back that it was ready. (I accidentally had my phone volume down too low, so I missed the call. But I eventually saw the missed call and headed back over.) As I approach the shop, I noticed that it had been backed into a space in the tiny parking strip in front of the shop, alongside the busy street. And all of its windows were rolled down, exposing my car to the elements, insects, and even people! Now I noticed some of the other cars had their windows down too, but it was only their front windows (or perhaps it was only their front driver's side window -- I forget which exactly). But I am 100% certain that my car had more windows rolled down than any other car parked that day. And I was so confused by that. My first thought was -- what stops a passerby from reaching into my car to take something, like my phone charger, registration, or anything else I've stored in the trunk or glove box. So I was annoyed that the car was like that, and that it had been sitting unattended like that for a while. So my first instinct was to go inside to pay as quickly as I could to make sure I could get my key, roll up my windows, and go. Well fast forward to about 36 hours later, when I finally left town. As is my custom, I make the drive to my parents' house in one sitting, without making any stops whatsoever because it's just better and safer that way. Well as soon as I pull into my parents' driveway, my father comes out to help me unload the car. As a former car salesman himself, my dad immediately notices that my tires are missing the two tire stem covers (for where you put in the air in the tires) on the PASSENGER side of the car. That whole side of the car had no stems. I couldn't even believe it! I immediately called the tire shop to report the missing stem covers. They told me to come back in and that they'd put them on. I explained that I was out of town for a bit, but that I'd stop by as soon as I got back. It wasn't until I went back out to inspect things further that I realized I actually had yet another problem! Turned out that the tire stems on the driver's side didn't really fit the car properly. They were black. But they had the writing of a brand name on them that I didn't recognize. And they didn't screw tightly so that no metal was showing under the stem. That's when it hit me that the two stems I HAD been given (meaning the two on the driver's side) probably weren't the ones original to my car in the first place. So I called the dealership to check my suspicion. And they were able to confirm for me what the original tire stem covers that come on their cars look like -- and it wasn't what I now
