I have known Spencer Davis for a long time, we worked together as laborers when he started in the auction business out of high school. I went on to construction, then back to school and other things, while Spencer worked his way up, learned the business, and started his own shop when his mentor retired. When I was getting frustrated trying to sell my old Pokémon card collection from childhood I reached out and got his opinions on some things. After trying many different avenues, I decided that selling with Spencer would be my best bet, I trust him, and the other ways I found for selling my collection were much less secure and much more difficult, I found I was afraid of being ripped off. My first edition charizard brought $4,350 USD before the buyers premium, and the whole collection sold with only two items bringing a minimum bid. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the job Spencer and his employees did with my sale. He got me what I thought I could get myself, in one go. It was the best decision I could have made, and I could not be more proud of how well Spencer has done setting up his own auction house. I will definitely be using him to sell again in the future and looking forward to see whatever he has coming up in future sales as a buyer.

REVISED REVIEW following a five star review from previous experience. Taking my money and no communication. Have brought and sold at auctions in the area for over three decades. When Spencer Davis opened his auction house (previous Davis McKee Auction House) happy to share with friends and online community for having a new auction house. Delighted with several purchases. On September 2, 2024 I bid on a silverplate coffee service and won. I apologized to Mr Spencer Davis not realizing the auction was not local as in my past bidding/purchasing. Emailed Mr Davis immediately that distance was problematic and apologized profusely. Mr Davis assured me he needed some time but would be resolved. I assumed Lot 42 that I purchased would be transferred to Spencer Davis Timonium site or noted I would pay for shipping. NOTHING. My credit card was charged and paid. Several telephone calls, several emails, all polite and asking for update. No response. Not one response. Completely ignored. Even if there was a mistake, an oops, sell to a preferred customer, whatever, the courtesy of a return contact, by telephone or email would be expected. Many purchases from Rick Opfer's and Alex Cooper's with never a problem.
I have attended and bid at auctions in Maryland for three decades and am delighted with this up and coming Spencer Davis auction. Have made some great purchases, easy to navigate online, fantastic customer service.
