Honestly, the audacity of this place. The entire experience felt unpleasant, and the staff’s (older ladies) demeanor shifted immediately once they learned I wouldn’t be making a purchase.

This is a great little store with great items for the house. Unfortunately SOME members of the staff are not very helpful. I wanted to buy a lamp and couldn’t figure out how to change the light bulb and all I got from one of the ladies was “if you can’t figure it out, then don’t buy it” and walked away! For a relatively expensive store, this is not what the type of customer service I expect; so they lost a sale, not so much because of the item but because of the annoyance I felt after this response.

My wife and I own a large home of over 10,000 square feet and are in the middle of a full remodel. We reached out to Pottery Barn Towson to schedule an in-home consultation, hoping to get professional guidance on the project. We already had a vision but wanted a designer to see our space in person, offer advice, and help tie everything together.
Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The associate we were assigned called us and informed us she wouldn’t be coming to our home as scheduled. Instead, she insisted we meet her in the store and claimed she could just look at pictures of our home online. This completely defeated the purpose of the service they offer—having an interior designer visit your home to see the space, the layout, and the flow in person to provide tailored recommendations. Her dismissive attitude and refusal to provide the service made it clear she wasn’t interested in earning our business.
As a result, we decided to move forward on our own. So far, we’ve replaced our theater seating with a large sectional, added another sectional to the living room, purchased a new bed, and tackled a few other updates. However, realizing this project is bigger than we can manage alone, we plan on hiring an independent interior decorator instead.
As longtime customers of Pottery Barn, we were prepared to make significant purchases for our remodel with them, but this experience completely soured us. It’s frustrating to see a lack of professionalism and unwillingness to deliver on a service they claim to provide.
If you’re considering Pottery Barn for your design needs, be aware that some staff may prioritize convenience over delivering quality service. Unfortunately, this experience left us no choice but to take our business elsewhere.

I was in this store doing some shopping when my baby was playing with small balls with my husband. One of the employees came and literally took the balls from my baby's hands and threw them in the trash, even after my husband and baby told her not to. This behavior is unacceptable, and we should consider taking action for touching our baby and ruining our shopping experience. Please hire more educated and respectful staff

Highly impressed and appreciative of the amazing service I received from Nancie. She went above and beyond to make my shopping experience pleasurable and memorable. Pottery Barn has a loyal customer for life because of the customer experience she provided- can’t wait to shop again!

Came in here twice and I wasnt greeted despite standing right in front of the associate. The second time i was waiting in front a caucasian lady and the same associate ignored me and helped the lady who was second in line. The first time in the store was to look at a bed we saw online in person, but they did not have it. The online site has a lot more than the store.

Visited the store on 10/31/23 to search for some different bed options. The store was clear of customers with the exception of myself and a friend. There were 3 staff members on duty and NONE of them greeted me nor my friend. We literally had to speak to the lady first and the 2 guys never spoke or asked us did we need assistance. Just this customer service experience alone makes me not want to patronize this company.

Everything is so beautiful here. The store manager Nancy was beyond helpful and knowledgeable. Truly some of the best customer service I've had in a long time.

Not a single member of the sales team asked any of our group if we were finding everything okay nor if there was something we were looking for/had our eye on. For that reason alone I will give 1 star.

The people who work here are all useless college aged lesbians who openly hate white people, we were disrespected and laughed at by the employees for just asking a question. Won't be coming back

I have given it two stars. One for the beautiful layout and one for the helpful service. It's a pleasant store to shop in as long as you don't look at the prices. Everything that I checked out looked like they established a fair price then multiplied it by four. Nice place to visit. Wouldn't want to shop there.
